Strengths: small size, pentax lens, good pix.

Weaknesses: nothing I could see.

Summary: this is the best 8.0 MP digital camera you could get for under $100 I guess. People just go for brands like canon, sony etc,,,,. i was looking for a small camera for everyday use. found this for a good price at buy.com. I was also hesitant to go with a hp for a camera. But this has a pentax lens. The reviews on amazon and pricegrabbwer were good. So bit it and recieved the camera in 3days. I am happy so far with the way it worked for me. Good pictures. Buy it. The best bang for the buck.

Strengths: easy to use and great quality pics

Weaknesses: weak battery compartment shutter and delay in taking pics

Summary: This camera is great. It is easy to use and makes beautiful pictures. This camera has held up with the excessive use and pics are as beautiful now as before. The different shoot modes allow you to get just the right lighting and exposure for any situation. The fact that you can edit the photos directly in the camera is great. The manual recommends lithium batteries and they work the best. I got about 4 hours of heavy picture taking out of the alkaline and about 7 out of rechargable. The lithium last about 3 days of very heavy picture taking. I would recommend this camera to anyone.

Strengths: HP name, price, ease of use

Weaknesses: Lens error

Summary: I purchased this camera on "Black Friday" morning after Thanksgiving with my son. It is his first digital camera. After using the camera for one day (using a full set of batteries while testing and learning), we put in a new set of batteries and then there was a "Lens Error" (M730-022). I contacted HP online tech and they were very helpful. Unfortunately, we have to return the camera to the place of purchase and arrange for a new camera. I understand that sometimes errors occur...so I am not too worried. The camera seemed to be functioning well before this error. I would still consider purchasing the camera again, even with this knowledge. After researching other cameras, there seemed to be an "error story" with every model type whether you purchase Canon, Sony, etc. I purchased a Canon A560 tonight for myself...only because we had purchased the last HP M737 yesterday at the store...otherwise I would have purchased the HP M737 also. When I asked my son if he would rather have a Canon or go for the HP replacement, he indicated that he likes the feel and style of the HP better...where the buttons are located, etc. Every consumer is different. The HP tech was very helpful. I'm wondering how the store will respond tomorrow after having to return the camera. I hope they are as service oriented. Either way, I'm using this as an opportunity to teach my son that everything does not always go as well as expected. Even in the face of "adversity" (returning broken items), he is still going to learn about respectful responses and resolutions. Customer service reps are people too and should be treated with respect.

Strengths: The camera takes rich color photos thanks to its CMOS 8-Megapixel image sensor. It's easy to use. And the 2.5 inch display is easy to view indoors and out.

Weaknesses: Movie mode is limited to 320 x 240 - 24 fps.

Summary: I have had this camera for 4 weeks now. I found the camera's menus and controls so intuitive that I used the camera for a week before picking up the manual. The 2 things I like most about this camera is its price and the quality of the pictures it takes. The image sensor captures rich photos. The anti-shake feature makes the pictures crisp. If I had to do it all over again, I'd buy the camera again.
