Summary: after years of satisfaction using a Sony P93, it was time to upgrade. the choice fell to Sony H3 or Canon A590, they are very similar. sorry, but having to mess with a lens cap, not using readily available AA batteries and twice as much price killed the deal for me. which is a shame because otherwise I would have preferred the Sony. but those are serious drawbacks. btw, extensive comparison showed that the 4-year-old P93 edges out the A590 in terms of detail and color quality when using the same settings.

Strengths: Very compact and lightweight given its zoom capability.

Weaknesses: My battery does not last very long and they are expensive to replace.

Summary: I purchased this camera because it was small and light given it's capabilities. I've used it to take pictures of my son playing sports and have been very happy with the results. I particularly like the "sports mode" that allows you to take action photos without messing with settings. I also like the ease of use of moving files between the camera and my computer. I think they have done a good job with the user interface on this camera. I would recommend you purchase, especially if you can find one on sale right now for

Strengths: Everything, cost, size, lens cap that stays on, beautiful pictures. east to use, view screen size perfect.

Weaknesses: I found that the flash took a little more time to re-charge between shots-- that is when you need to take several shots in succession it was a bit slow.

Summary: I would recommend this camera to anyone who is a novice picture taker like me. It was easy to hold, although not enough space for big fingers to hold but the features of the camera were excellent. I could switch from taking single shots to taking movie shots just like that. Overall, the camera fit me to a "T".

Summary: Great camera for the price. It takes great photos. I tried taking photos in the dark with flash light the photos come out bright. The chargeable battery comes with the camera which helps.

Strengths: Everything about this camera

Weaknesses: None. The fact that it doesn't use double A batteries isn't a factor beause you can shoot for days with Sony's battery before it needs to be charged.

Summary: I just wanted to add a quick note a lot of people don't seem to know about this camera. If you change the resolution to VGA (640 x 480) this camera will now shoot with 57X optical zoom. And you thought 10X was awesome!

Summary: This Camera has an excellent ability to take pictures even in the low light conditions, resuolution is very good in day and night time. optical image stabilization in this camera is very well controoled and no blurry picture. 10X optical zoom is very helful. overall it has a very sturdy design and high quality display and great pictures.

Strengths: Ease of use. Zoom is very good. Outstanding night shot.

Weaknesses: picture can easily blur. Need to know the right setting for the right picture.

Summary: This camera is by far the best performance camera that I have ever had. 10x zoom is great. Features and options are endless. The only problem that I had was that it took me some time to not get blury pictures. But after some practice it was easy.

Summary: This stunning DSC H3 has an excellent ability to take pictures even in the low light conditions. i like the optical image stabilization in this camera as i have suffered previously from shaky pictures without this feature. 10X optical zoom is very helful. overall it has a very sturdy design and high quality display and great pictures.

Summary: I bought this camera couples of days ago. First look gave me an impression that this is pretty small in size compared to other high zoom cameras. The only weak point that I have noticed is, it uses its own battery not the usual AA (we have in Sony DSC H2). I generally like AA cau'z those are pretty cheap. As far picture quality is concerned, I love the color contrast and the zoom.

Summary: I bought it as a replace of another Sony camera. I really like it. 10x zoom in a small camera. Picture quality is very good and powerfull Flash. Very good in low light too. Lot of good features. I would recommend this camera.

Summary: Update/ still works fine/ see pics in totally dark room all in auto mode/Just got mine from Dell with a phone order at their small business site. Got it in one business day after I ordered with standard free shipping. Charged the battery for one hour just to test it to make sure it works. Wow! If you want a camera that works well in auto mode this is the one. Zoomed into a distant dark bedroom and the flash popped up and took a perfect picture. I am impressed. BTW everything is made in Japan and the quality shows folks. I will update this next week after a very hard detailed test at work. Still a great camera after TWO MONTHS.
