Strengths: 1. Easy to grip. 2. Optional external flash and lens. 3. Bigger monitor 4. D-Lighting feature for photo taken with dark lightings.

Weaknesses: The anti shake and High ISO pictures are grainy. Nikon transfer software does not have option to enhance picture.

Summary: Nikon should add more options and features to the Nikon Transfer software. Unlike the previous software that I have (Nikon Picture Project) it gives the photographer the option to enhance the pictures.

Strengths: Compact, Manual functions, Panorama, lotta pixels

Weaknesses: High ISO is very grainy, Proper white balance takes some getting used to

Summary: I have mostly good stuff to say about this camera so far. It has way more features than one would initially expect. The panorama function is particularly nice - after each shot, you can see the last 1/3 of the shot on the LCD so that you can visually line up your next shot. The camera has all the standard modes - Program, Shutter, Aperture, Manual and Auto - as well as too many preset scenes to memorize. There is some internal memory which can be handy is your card is suddenly full. At the basic 12MP setting, files are about 2MB in size. At the fine setting, the files are about 3MB. Pictures taken above 400 ISO are really grainy, but there are some features to try and help you reduce the effect, such as sharpness, saturation, vibration reduction, etc. Still, this is not intended to be a professional SLR. It's just a really jazzed up pocket camera that may just eventually replace my midsize camera.

Strengths: lightweight, ease of use, 12 + megapixel

Weaknesses: 2.5" LCD screen instead of 3"

Summary: I love this camera. The marco feature is exceptional close as 1.6" and easy to use macro function key. Best Camera I ever had. I like the fact that this also has a hot shoe for external flash equipment
