Strengths: Great Sound Quailty, Easy Speaker setup, True HD 1080p support
Weaknesses: Confusing manual, will not up convert 480i and 480p signals via HDMI weak on-screen manual setup
Summary: Forced to contact Yamaha Tech support on how to up-convert 480i, 480p, 720p 1080i into 1080p for my Sony KDL-52W4100 TV.... Learned to that RX-V863BL MUST BE CONNECTED with component cables. and that 720p and 1080i will be unchanged by this receiver...it would get 5 stars if not for the confusing manual and connection deception
