Strengths: NOTHING ABOUT THIS TV OR THE MAKER IS GOOD. I WILL NEVER BUY MITSUBISHI BRAND.
Weaknesses: HAVE HAD THE TV FIXED 6 TIMES IN 6 MONTHS......
Summary: MITSUBISHI IS THE WROST BRAND AND Frys Electronics are the ones I brought the Tv from and you have to wait for ever to have some one call you back.... When they do they act like you have done something to the Tv but they dont realize that the MUTSUBISHI WD-57731 IS A CRAPPY TV...

Strengths: Awesome picture once calibrated. Excellent value for the money.
Weaknesses: Somewhat weak contrast in the darks. Remote is low end.
Summary: I was originally considering a Samsung DLP, but this unit compared favorably in many areas and was cheaper. As is typical of all TVs, the factory settings for brightness and sharpness need to be calibrated down, but once they are - wow, what a picture! The only video issue I've seen is a lack of contrast in very dark scenes. I found the TV menus to be more responsive and user friendly than other manufacturers, although there is still a slight lag from keypress to action. The ATSC tuner is quite slow compared to old analog tuners, taking a full 2 seconds to change channels, but I find this typical of DTVs. There is one design oversight I found: I use this TV as my home theater A/V input selector (instead of my audio amp). The TV switches audio and video inputs in unison. The problem is that while the TV has digital (and analog) audio output, all audio inputs are analog only. When I select my DVD player, the digital audio output from the TV to the amp is just the converted analog stereo audio from the DVD, not 5.1 encoded. I have to manually switch the audio amp to the digital audio direct from the DVD player to get the 5.1 from the disc. ...And the included remote doesn't include the ability to switch inputs on the audio amp. I'm being nit-picky with these gripes, because overall this is a great DLP. I've been very happy with it over the short time I've had it, so it definitely gets a thumbs up from me!

Strengths: Color, Clarity, value for money
Weaknesses: None so far.
Summary: Just purchased this from Bernies, who PM'd the Bestbuy online price. This is an amazing TV for 1440 before tax. The size color and clarity are amazing, plus I feel good knowing that this company has been building big screens for over 25 years. The only other comparable projections were the Sony and Samsung and they were 400-800 more in price. It's true 1080P from what I gather and if you don't have 2 grand to spend on a 50+ tv and you want well built, reliable projection, then this tv is for you.

Strengths: Beautifull big screen! Very clear pics and color brillaince considering its not at plasma or LCD.
Weaknesses: At this time none!!
Summary: First time to purchase big screen. Xmas Gift for my parents. Considering all its features was a bargain. Great deal. I have been researching all the types before I made my puchase. Plasma with its flaws as well as LCD's. On the other hand, DLP only real flaw is changing of the lightbulb every 3-4 years. I just love the picture quality and amazed more people dont choose DLPs more. As I tinker more with the TV and my coming surround sound...more follow review to come!

Strengths: Amazing picture quality. High contrast ratio.
Weaknesses: Remote is a bit lousy. Shadow detail is still undetermend.
Summary: Of ALL the tv's on display this one stood out from the rest! Out of the box the images were remarkable. When finally adjusted from factory defaults the picture was breathtaking. Most people don't realize that all televisions have their contrast turned all the way up from the factory to compete on display, the actual level should be approximately half way. Like I said minimal adjusting is needed and the reward is unbelievable! Best tv. out there....
