Strengths: Great HD picture. Sharp looking cabinet with thin bezel. Only about 60Lbs. 2 HDMI inputs.
Weaknesses: No Picture in Picture. "Remote size" to "number of buttons" ratio is indecent.
Summary: Picked this up a couple of weeks ago and really like the TV I got for the money. Cable companies killed the Cable Card Slot because 1-way communication means no pay-per view loot for them. So the E2000 series replaces the A10 series with not much change. Lose a cable card slot, gain an HDMI input and maybe some other minor changes. The TV is light and attractive and produces a brilliant HD picture with plenty of customizing options in the setup menus. Standard Definition TV even looks OK. The QAM tuner seems to be very strong. The remote control is way too big for the few buttons it contains. Very long and skinny big remote.I was suprised to discover that this TV does not have any form of Picture in Picture. I guess that is somethig we take for granted these days.Overall I think that the TV is an excellant purchase if you can pick it up on sale.

Strengths: Great picture, plenty of inputs
Weaknesses: Remote is HUGE. Slow startup.
Summary: I don't normally buy Sony's but this one was on sale at Best Buy and it looked pretty good. My friend has a 60" and it looks great. This TV works great, I play COD2 on this thing in 720p and it's absolutely awesome. I can now see the arm sticking out from the corner and lots of other detail my 36" just couldn't show. It's an amazing picture. I don't know if it's common to all HD TV's but it takes about 15-30 seconds to startup, kind of annoying but I guess it's worth that beautiful image.

Strengths: Sony brand namePicks up some decent HD channels through antennaGreat picture with DVDs
Weaknesses: Annoying lag when turning on TVOccasional "screen door" effect when sitting too closePotential for replacing expensive bulbs
Summary: I like this LCD projection screen TV overall. Regular cable looks decent on it. High-difinition channels (I can get 15 in my area via antenna, but not Fox or ABC for some reason) look great. DVDs looks great on this TV as well. The remote is a little on the large size, but it seems somewhat user-friendly. If you are sitting too close (4-5 feet away) you can pick up on the "screen door" effect. Also, there is about a 30 second time delay when turning the TV on before you get a picture. My final concern is the $200+ bulbs that need replaced at approximately every 6,000-10,000 hours depending on who you talk to. Overall, I would recommend this TV as a great viewing experience and a great value.

Strengths: 2 HDMI port, great pictures
Weaknesses: No, so far
Summary: I compared this for a long time with Samsung and Panasonic. I decided on the SONY because I thought the picture slightly better as well as the underlying technology. The channel scan is much smarter than other brand.

Strengths: Sharp HD pictures, and better SD picture than competitors. Good sound quality. 2 HDMI inputs. Sleek cabinet.
Weaknesses: Takes a minute or so to warm up and brighten. Remote is too big with no real extra features. DVD controls in remote only work with Sony DVD players.
Summary: Great HD picture. Currently the best 1080i quality in the $900-$1300 price range. Looks sleek compared to the Panasonic52" projection. Ideal for about 6-8ft viewing distance. Projection TVs are not meant to be viewed closer for the silk screen effect. Surprisingly good brightness and contrast ratios - I use it in a room with a lot of sunlight, and its much better than my previous CRT. Check out the avsforums for threads dedicated to this TV series.Definitely get the AVIA or similar calibration DVDs. Fine HD tuner - I use it for OTA HDTV. OTA SD is acceptable. Sound quality is far better than similar projection TVs from Samsung & Panasonic. 2 HDMI inputs is a plus. Like most modern TVs does some amount of upconversion internally, and so far I've been unable to notice a difference between the output of an upconverting DVD player and a standard progressive scan one. Like most HDTVs today, it doesnt have Picture in Picture. The only reason right now to pay the premium for plasma or LCD is to have the ability to hang it on the wall. If you're willing to tolerate a depth of a foot or so, Sony's 3LCD projection technology yields picture quality equal to or better than an LCD. Be aware that stores simply do not calibrate these projection TVs properly - maybe they want to get you to throw the money on the plasma/LCD. Takes a minute or so to warm up and brighten. Remote is too big with no real extra features. DVD controls in remote only work with Sony DVD players. (I'm still trying to find a workaround for mine) Highly recommend a UPS because projection TVs have a fan that often comes on sometime after the TV switches off to cool the projector. Get a third party extended warranty for the bulb.

Strengths: HDTV PICTURE,PRICE,FEATURES,CONNECTIVITY
Weaknesses: SD PICTURE, BULB REPLACEMENT,HD MOTION BLUR
Summary: PRICE WAS A HUGE FACTOR IN DECIDING TO PURCHASE THIS TV. ORIGINALLY, I WAS GOING TO PICK UP A 42" PANASONIC OR SAMSUNG PLASMA BECAUSE I DIDN'T REALLY WANT TO DEAL WITH BULB REPLACEMENT. HOWEVER, AFTER TONS OF RESEARCH AND VIEWING THE VARIOUS MODELS AT STORES LIKE CIRCUIT CITY, I WENT WITH THE SONY LCD REAR PRO. I REALLY LIKED THE SIZE OF THE SET AND THE PICTURE QUALITY WASN'T THAT MUCH DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE TWO TECHNOLOGIES. I PURCHASED MY SET FROM VIDEO REVOLUTIONS AND WAS GIVEN A GREAT DEAL. I PURCHASED THE SET,STAND,AND EXTENDED 5 YEAR IN HOME WARRANTY(WITH BULB REPLACEMENT) FOR JUST UNDER $1700.00. MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH VERY PLEASED. NCAA TOURNAMENT GAMES ARE JUST AMAZING IN HD. WE HAD A 27" CRT IN THE LIVING ROOM BEFORE THIS SET AND MY DAUGHTER HARDLY LOOKED AT IT. NOW SHE IS LITERALLY SUCKED INTO BACKYARDIGANS AND BLUE'S CLUES. SHE'S ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD, SO THIS IS ACCEPTABLE. I'M NOT A HUGE FAN OF THE SD PICTURE, BUT IT'S NOT TOO SHABBY ON SOME CHANNELS. THE HD PICTURE IS GREAT! I'M NOT EVEN USING HDMI HOOKUPS YET, JUST THE CHEAP COMPONENT HOOKUPS PROVIDED WITH MY COX DVR/HD RECEIVER. I'VE NOTICED SOME BLURRING EFFECT WHEN VIEWING HD SIGNALS ESPECIALLY WITH FAST ACTION SEENS OR SPORTING EVENTS. ANYONE HAVE A CLUE ON HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM? I'M GUESSING UPGRADING TO HDMI WOULD IMPROVE THIS AND PROBABLY CALIBRATING THE SET WITH A DECENT CALIBRATION DVD WOULDN'T HURT. OVERALL, I'M EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE PURCHASE AND WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE LOOKING AT AN HDTV SET WITH IN THIS PRICE RANGE. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. IT'S JUST A GOOD IDEA TO PICK ONE UP WHEN PURCHASING ANY EXPENSIVE PIECE OF ELECTRONICS.

Strengths: Price; excellent performance for a 720p TV; 2 HDMI inputs
Weaknesses: Can't hang it on the wall like a plasma/LCD flat panel; no PIP
Summary: I purchased this TV after it had been out for a while, so I was able to get an excellent deal (the new models are out now, so prices should remain low). While flat panel plasmas and LCDs are in vogue these days, RPTVs like this one offer you more size for your money. Picture quality on this TV is quite good; even SD programs look fairly good, though you can definitely notice the improvement when viewing an HD signal. Having two HDMI inputs is nice; I use one for my computer (HDMI/DVI cable) and the other will likely be used at some point by an XBox360 or PS3. It does take a few seconds to turn on, but not excessively long--not enough to really bother you in most situations. Sound quality is adequate (no worse than most other TV speakers) but if this is important to you then you'll probably want to connect it to external speakers (optical out is nice for this). The QAM tuner allows you to pick up a decent number of digital signals (some HD, some not). Overall, an excellent TV, especially if budget is a concern, and space is not at a premium.

Strengths: 2 HDMI inputs, HDMI can be used to connect to PC with HDMI-DVI cable. The size is small and it is light. Excellent price on clearance since the 1080P models started to come out
Weaknesses: When connect to PC, it can't fill the screen. It is only 720P. Remote control is big but not many buttons. Lamp life is 8000 hours. So for 4 hr/day used, the lamp life is about 6 years. Power up time.
Summary: I don't know if it true for other TV HDMI, but this Sony HDMI can be connected to PC with DVI output. HDTV 720P/1080i display great. PC displays not very clear for text. There is no memory stick reader or USB input. This TV is so light. It felt lighter than my 32 LCD. I would recommend this set eventhough it is not 1080P.

Weaknesses: Poor Picture; Lamp replacement cost after a short time.
Summary: I bought this tv thinking what a great deal for an HD LCD screen that may not fit on my wall but makes for a great tv for a low cost.Only to find that within a couple of months the Sony Television gave me trouble with the message on the screen as I waited to turn it on each morning telling me to relace the projection lamp. I turn it on and off everyday. off at night and on in the morning to watch CNN and my local weather. So, if you are reading this.
