Strengths: Picture Quality, Good Looks

Weaknesses: Not thin

Summary: This is the update to Sony's A2000 series and the only difference is that the cabinet is black. There are quite possibly a few minor adjustments in the circuitry but Sony has not officially said so.Even so, the difference in color was enough to convince me to buy this one over the silver A2000.I paid 2250 at Circuit City in April 2007 and in retrospect it was a little more than I should have paid. Prices started to fall right after my return period expired but I have no regrets. The picture quality of this TV is amazing. It has enough inputs to keep an average household happy. I used mine for a couple of weeks with Basic cable and it found all the digital channels via the QAM tuner. Quality was good out of the box but after a little home caliberation, it really looked good. AVS forum and CNET review has a basic set of settings you can start with. I had to increase the color but other than that, those settings made it look good.QAM tuner did not get any analog channels. For that I had the direct TV Tivo hooked up via S-Video. Quality was acceptable but once you have seen high-def, SD is not watchable. Then I got Comcast HD DVR and connected it through HDMI and the quality is about the same as what I saw via un-encrypted QAM. But programming choices were more. Discovery HD's broadcast of Planet Earth gave me my money's worth right there.I have a Sony Progressive scan DVD player hooked up via component cables and the PQ looks as good as HD some times. I know HD DVD is going to look fabulous but I don't want to spend so much for so little quality increase (law of diminishing returns and whatnot). The only negatives I can think of are SSE (silk screen effect) and motion blur. SSE is very little but its still there. I have become immune to it but it was very annoying in the beginning. And motion blur is also visible in high motion, camera panning scenes. Though SSE is worse in the older E series models and motion blur is worse in most LCD screens.

Strengths: Beautiful picture, 1080p

Weaknesses: None noted

Summary: We bought this to replace a 50inch Sony HDTV we purchased three years ago. That TV was 720p/1080i capable, but I wanted to upgrade to 1080P. My retailer allowed me to return the 1080i set and upgrade to this set for an out of pocket difference of less than $100. Regardless, this set's picture is stunning when viewing HD DVDs and HDTV Channels. It takes our "home theater" to the next level.

Strengths: Very Bright Picture, HD is amazing. With some tweaks SD picture looks as good as my 32 inch CRT.

Weaknesses: Light bulb replacement but I was aware of this when I bought it.

Summary: I love this TV. HD content looks amazing and the SD content was much better than other reviews I read before purchasing. I have no problem with the SD content on this TV. I would recommend this TV to anyone. I purchased this for 1803 delivered about 2 weeks ago and it was delivered last week. I am amazed every day when I turn this thing on. My advice is BUY ONE.

Strengths: Finally the 60" 1080P SXRD HDTV for under 2 grand.

Weaknesses: Wish it had HD TV Guide like the Mitsubishi.

Summary: I read all the reviews I could find on the web comparing the Sony SXRD and DLP technology, and based on the reviews and viewing the two technologies side by side, I decided to go with the Sony and waited for the price to break below 2K including shipping. I preferred the styling of the A2020 over the XBR2, and PIP was not that important to me. This replaces my 45" Pioneer CRT projection TV which was 17 years old and cost more than this set back then. I didn't go with the lowest price retailer, but checked out the reviews and went with Home Theater Store. I got the TV delivered to me within a week. Setup was a breeze, the instructions were easy to follow, especially if you have a lot of things like an AV Receiver, DVD, VCR, DVR, LD player, etc. I do wish it had an additional S-Video input to accomodate both my VCR and LaserDisc player. It automatically registered every digital station in the area (30+). The picture looks great but I will calibrate it starting with the settings I found in one of the reviews.

Strengths: FANTASTIC PICTURE EVEN WHEN NOT ON HD CHANNELS

Weaknesses: NONE SO FAR

Summary: WE HAD LOOKED AROUND FOR OVER A YEAR, AND NEVER HAD FOUND ANYTHING WE LIKED WITHIN OUR BUDGET. THIS TV AMAZES US ON A DAILY BASIS. I GOT IT for AROUND $2300 WHICH ENABLED ME TO GET ALL THE GOODIES SURROUND SOUND, ETC.) AND STILL STAY IN MY $4000.00 BUDGET. CAN'T GET BETTER THAN THAT IN MY BOOK ^_^

Strengths: Easy to set up and use, including audio formats. Excellent off the air HDTV as well as cable.

Weaknesses: The light engine had a previous weakness and was replaced under warrantee about 6 months ago (a green haze on the far left of the screen) but since then no problems. Recommend the 4 year warrantee.

Summary: Breath taking HDTV, even using rabbit ears. Movie theater quality viewing especially if using a Dolby surround sound system. I bought one in late 2005 for $4000, now it is about $2000. A steal at this price!!
