Strengths: best picture quality available

Weaknesses: expensive, buzz sound, no tuner or speakers

Summary: This is regarded by most as the top of the line plasma tv. It was the first 1080P plasma tv produced. While there have been a few other 1080P plasmas produced subsequently, most professional reviewers still regard this as the best. Pioneer will be coming out with a new line of plasmas in the fall which may surpass this plasma, but currently this is still the best. The picture quality is what makes this the best. The clarity and color are unsurpassed. However, there are some weaknesses which I must mention. First this is only a monitor. This means that there is no built in tuner. This is not a big deal since most with this tv will be using an external tuner from their cable or satellite provider. Another weakness is that there are no speakers provided. I guess they think everyone will be connecting this to their stereo. However, there are speaker ports so you can connect your own external speakers. Finally, the biggest weakness is that there is a slight high pitched buzz coming from the back of the tv. I have done extensive research on this as I did not want to spend so much money on a defective tv. Apparently some people hear it and some people do not hear it on their tv. This made me feel that I received a defective tv so I went back to the store where I purchased it. When I listened closely to all of the Pioneer plasmas, I heard this same buzz. Thus this buzz is just part of Pioneer's design. While it is annoying to pay so much for a tv which is not perfect, the buzz is only bothersome when there is no sound coming from the tv. The bottom line is whether you can put up with a slight annoyance to have the best picture quality available today.
