Strengths: Plenty of inputs/outputs to connect all of your equipment. Unless you're planning to wall-mount the unit, light-weight design enables for easy mobility. Lowest price for similar features in other TVs.
Weaknesses: AnyNet+ interface only works for other Samsung peripherals. Black exterior is a magnet for finger prints. Tricky menu setup for non-electronics savy folks. Poor quality internal speakers.
Summary: Setting up the TV was a bit challenging for me. This equipment comes packed with different modes, settings, and calibrations that can be done. However, all is made simple if and only if you've bought all of your connecting hardware from Samsung. If that's the case, you can use their proprietary "AnyNet+" utility. However, for the rest of us, there are a few more steps that are left for the user to figure out. For example, although HDMI cable is supposed to carry both video and audio, I had to buy a Digital Optical cable to connect my Onkyo receiver to the TV for the audio to work. Once all of the configuration is done, the TV is everything you'd expect from a 46" monstrosity. It has Sports/Game/Entertainment/Movie modes that enhance the picture; A choice of 4 different picture size modes; etc. The only thing from what I read online and know from experience is that if you like loud sound, you may need to invest in a home theater system ...

Summary: This TV for the $ is one of the best tv's that you can buy. Samsung has about 6 different models this year all slightly different. I was looking for a TV that would fit my apartment perfectly and was contemplating getting a 52" (the 550 series) However, i saved 400 bucks and deceided to go w/ this one. The TV is the perfect size for someone sitting 10' away. The colors, blacks, and sharpness are 2nd to none. The other samsung models may have some added bells and whistles, but i needed a screen with a matte finish, not the new glossy, shiny finish as i have lighting from from the sides that would ruin the viewing experience. I can't stress enough how well this tv does with blacks and shadows.. That has been a problem w/ prior LCD's and one reason why plasmas were always better for movie viewing... Not anymore though, this tv surpases Plasma in several ways as there are so many different viewing choices available as well, (movie mode, game, entertainment, etc) Last but not least, and i've seen this commented before on other message boards, but Samsung's DNIE feature when using the dynamic picture setting, sets this tv above and beyond the rest. This DNIE setting truly brings this set to life..For the money this is a great tv..

Strengths: This tv is one of the best tv's i've ever seen. The blacks are black, the picture is sharp over HDMI and I find myself watching more movies than ever. It really is a pleasure to watch
Weaknesses: the speakers are a bit tinny. However, i use my home theatre speakers, so no problems there.
Summary: Again, one of the best tv's i've ever used. I like the shape, color, matte screen and pedestal. You can't go wrong with this model. The higher end models w/ 120hz is more hype than anything else. You won't be disappointed...Rich
