Strengths: Excellent picture, useful features, beautiful design.
Weaknesses: Nothing significant
Summary: Very happy with product. Not much more to say - it meets or beats all my expectations. Vibrant picture, good sound, easy setup. All the needed settings. The only possible negative is that the remote buttons are not lit, but one would not expect that in this price range.

Summary: After 15 years of faithful service our RCA CTC177 25 inch color tv finally died several weeks ago. The picture was sharp and bright right up to the end, and it was sad to see it go. But it was also a cause for rejoicing because now we could join the flat screen revolution. After some web research, I settled on the Samsung LN-37A450 for the best combination of picture quality, features, value, inputs, etc. And most important, it fit in our entertainment center with 1/8 of an inch to spare. The base model Samsung (the 37A330) is actually several inches wider than the 37A450 because its speakers are on the end of the unit. In addition, it appears that you can buy the 37A450 for LESS than the 37A330. For example, right now several vendors have the 37A450 listed as little as $829 and the lowest price I could find for the inferior 37A330 was $843.What about the TV? Well, we've only had it for a few weeks but I'm completely satisfied with it. Currently it's being fed by S-video out of an SD Directv-DVR receiver (there is no HDMI output on that satellite unit). The Samsung default 16:9 picture makes everything looked squashed on normal (ie not letterbox) shows so I have the picture set to 4:3 to fix that. In case you're wondering, at 4:3 full size (not zoomed smaller), the actual picture is 30 1/4" diagonal. The picture looks very good like this, but HD would certainly be a lot better. I had planned to immediately upgrade the satellite service to HD, but to tell you the truth, most of the channels we watch aren't available in HD so I'll have to think about it for a while. From what I had observed on the "TV walls" in big box stores, I was concerned about jittery appearance you often see on LCD TVs with rapid motion (for example when the camera is following a football when it's passed), but I haven't seen this behavior at all on the 37A450. Overall, I'm 100 percent satisfied with the 37A450.

Strengths: Great picture, easy set up, works with all my old cable stuff. Require HD channels but they seem to be there anyway.
Weaknesses: not as advance as the next model up. You can get a bigger screen 40" and better ratios for about $200 bucks more.
Summary: Very happy with this purschase. Set up was about 10 minutes and required only a screwdriver. More extensive set up required if you want to hang it on the wall. I cant imagine needing a bigger picture in a standard living room.

Strengths: Amazing picture quality, Brand reputation
Weaknesses: Viewing angle somewhat limited
Summary: So far, this television has surpassed my expectations. I bought it after reading a review that a leading consumer products research publication put out, and I have to say I agree with them that the picture quality is excellent... with great reception from HD sources. But, the viewing angle is an important consideration, meaning you should best enjoy this TV head-on. I'm looking forward to hooking up my home-theater to it, as I'm never blown away by sound from any tv... but this one has very good sound... again surpassing what I initially expected. Overall, a great product and I bought it at a great price from onSale.com (a subsidiary of PC Mall). So, if you are considering a Sony, I'd definitely recommend checking out the Samsung, as I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Strengths: Amazing sound, very sleek design, easy to set up, nice picture
Weaknesses: Subtitles in certain screen size formats
Summary: I bought this tv a few days ago, and so far no problem with it. It was really easy to set up and program. The picture quality was very good and the sound as well. For those thinking in buying a 40' tv I totally recommend it.The only thing I would complain about (although this may happen with other tv's too) is that when you choose certain screen sizes, then you won't be able to see the subtitles properly. All in all, a very good TV
