Strengths: 1080p

Weaknesses: one hdmi input, you have to either have the speakers from the monitor on or your audio tuner not both. Lack of local service when it breaks. And it will!!!!

Summary: I have had this monitor for 6 months it has been well taken are of and hardly used. The picture was awesome. It now has a bar which is an inch thick and runs down the screen. As well as dead pixels in various spots. For westinghouse to replace it they have to be close together in a square inch. Because of the bar they said they will fix it but you need to fax them a copy of the receipt and pay to ship it to them!!! Wait, this item is huge!!!! it weighs about 50 to 60 pounds. I contacted ups, fedex, and dhl. I got an estimit of about 75 dollars. Then you have to wait about 6 weeks "according to westinghouse" for them to repair it. Companies like this takes longer to repair items like this. They already have your money from the initall purchase they no longer care! My advice, find a Tv that you can have repaired localy, stay away from wastinghouse!!!! Or buy an extended warrenty, how ever with that warrenty you have to wait the rest of the original warrenty period to expire and live with the problem before you can use it! What happens if the screen goes out completely??? you have no TV for the rest of that term! like I said stay away from westinghouse!

Strengths: Excellent variety of DVI and HDMI connections. Very easy to use remote. Looks great and sits stable. Picture quality is very crisp and clear. Tried it with my PC, quality is perfect. no dead pixels.

Weaknesses: Honestly cant think of any

Summary: I shopped around for about 3 months for the best deal on a LCD TV. This Westinghouse is by far the best deal out there. Best buy is currently selling the 720p version of this TV for $1499, crazy people. This TV responds automatically to input signals ( turn the DVD on, it will turn on automatically). Great picture quality, lots of options, great remote signal. For the price, the best out there, enjoy.

Strengths: 1080p, price

Weaknesses: Quality and Customer Service

Summary: My LVM-37W3 arrived with several dead pixels. The internet retailer told me to go through the manufacturer for a warranty replacement. I contacted Westinghouse and sent the TV to them, and waited and waited. I called every week for a status, but this model was out of stock and no one could give me an ETA for my replacement. It took over 3 months to get the replacement, and it too had bad pixels!! No wonder their BBB rating is a D.

Strengths: Great HD picture, great price for a 37".

Weaknesses: Remote is so-so, backlighting. Wish there were 2 HDMI inputs instead of one.

Summary: I shopped around, and compaired many HDTV's before I bought this one, and I'm glad I did. What a great picture!! I have a Comcast HDDVR box, which also has HDMI output, and the picture is fantastic!! I love the auto input feature, which tells you each time you switch sources, or channel that indicated 1080, etc. I have a Samsung upconvert DVD player, and when watching at 1080 the picture is great. I also use my JVC surround sound system with my cable box for the 1080 picture and 5.1 digital, what a sight and sound experience!! I also have a Gamecube, and the gameing experience is fantastic with this monitor. The remote seems to have limited features, but it is workable because I use my remote for the cable box all of the time, except for adjusting picture, etc. I have used the adjustment for the backlighting, but I don't seem to see any difference in the picture when I do, maybe someone can let me know if I am doing something wrong, or if it just doesn't really change the lighting that much. I highly recommend this monitor. The price, picture quality, I don't think it can be beat.

Strengths: Great PC Monitor for Gaming! I played CS, WOW, BF2142, Oblivian, Stalker. Monitor is HUGE. I have Windows VISTA and looks great using a USB HDTV tuner on my PC.

Weaknesses: TO bright just turn down the brightness. No Built in Tuner.

Summary: It is not to big to play games on. Perfect size. Any biger and you would have to be far away from it. If you are looking for the Dell 30 inch or 24 inch dont do it just get this monitor. I have the Dell 24 inch and it is great but it is not as huge as 37 inches! NO DEAD PIXELS!

Strengths: Grett picture, scales very well, Super price for 1080p!

Weaknesses: Remote is terrible and my cable remote can't find a code to operate it. Reprogrammed my Sony universal instead.

Summary: High def picture is positively SPECTACULAR. Best Buy must have had the brightness on their display model turned waaaayyyy down (would they stoop to this tactic to sell more expensive sets?) because my picture is every bit as good as the Samsungs, Sharps, and Sony's I saw on display if not better! For those experiencing poor quality normal def, if your cable box has multiple video outputs that operate simultaneously, you can do as I did. In addition to your HDMI/HDMI cable hook up, add a triple RCA cable (red, white, yellow) to the 3 jacks in the S-Video section. Now when you switch between HD and Normal Def channels, press the "HDMI" or "Video" button on the Westinghouse remote (I have this programmed on one remote). To me, the normal def picture is noticeably better on the single RCA video cable (but you need the red and white cables for your audio!) than on the HDMI; Have ideas but not sure why. Buy it! With Cable or Dish, who needs an extra grand worth of tuner(s) and associated firmware?

Strengths: 1080p. 1 HDMI and 2 DVI inputs. Good picture clarity.

Weaknesses: Sometimes whites look bleached out.

Summary: This is my third HDTV. I also have a 51" 1080i Sony rp crt, a 26" 1080i crt. I use a 1080i signal in all 3. This TV looks the best for bright pastel colors. The Sony handles blacks and whites better. I think overall rear projection CRTs look the best. Too bad they aren't making any more because of the size. This is a good TV and I'm not using it to its full potential since I'm not feeding a 1080p signal into it. I bought mine from amazon for about $1050 including shipping, so, for the price, I don't think you'll find a better 37" TV. Generally, the picture is very clear in HD. Normal 480 digital looks good. Analog looks bad, but I rarely watch analog. One problem I've noticed is when watching a picture of a hazy day, like you may see on a nature show in the amazon, the picture background looks kind of bleached. I don't use the speakers and I only use the remote to turn the TV on and off so I can't really comment on sound or remote issues. There are better looking 37" monitors, like some Panasonic plasma's I looked at, but they cost at least $500 more.

Strengths: Crystal clear picture with an hd cable box

Weaknesses: Some blurring occurs when watching an upclose shot and figure moves too quickly. However I went to Best Buy for accessories and noticed that mostly all the HD sets do the same thing.Speakers are Avg.

Summary: Overall a great deal with many inputs to choose from. Highly recommended. Saw the same monitor at Best Buy for $1349.99 of course that's before taxes. The picture quality was just as good in the store as it is in my house.Like I said earlier Crystal Clear picture.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, 1080p, plethora of inputs, plenty of features.

Weaknesses: the remote - use the money you save to buy a Universal remote (like the Logitech Harmony). Speakers (but if you're watching HD you should invest in an audio system to enjoy the 5.1 Dolby)

Summary: I've had this TV/Monitor for 6 months and love it. First, 1080p means that both 720p and 1080i transmissions come out like they should with no deres. (There's a lot of confusion out there right now about 1080p being "overkill", which makes absolutely no sense b/c there is no such thing as a 1080i monitor -- only 720p monitors that deres your 1080i signals making channels like Universal HD, HDNet, Discovery HD, etc. not come out like they should.) Also, if you have cable you will never miss the TV tuner, because you are getting your broadcast television signals through the box, not over the air. Add a $120 upconverting DVD player and you have a home theater for about $1000. The picture is great and everything works -- I don't understand why anyone would pay more for a plasma or 720p set, but they are!

Summary: This is my second Westinghouse 1920x1080 LCD monitor/TV. My original LVM37W1 died about six weeks after the 12 month warranty had expired. I bought the latest LVM37W3 last week and that set lasted about 24 hours before going dark. Neither the retailer nor Westingohuse will replace the waranteed product without me paying for the shipment to the Westinghouse repair facility in California.Call your local repair shops and ask if they will repair a Westinghouse. Alternatively, buy 3 sets, so you can have 2 in reserve for parts.

Strengths: For HD channels, It is really HD quality.

Weaknesses: Some thin, but bright blinking line persists on the top of the screen, when I'm watchin any standard size channels.

Summary: I've purchased this monitor from Technoweb.com with free and very quick delivery few days ago. It was the best price on the web. I didn't get any problem with the installation or the remote control device. regardless of warnings of others, I?ve found that the remote control is very good . The quality of Wide Screen HD channels that I'm receiving from Cablevision is amazing. But some problem with standard size HD or STD channels has been found. The problem persists if you do not use the option to fill out the screen (by remote control). Of course I lose some part of the real size if I use the option "FILL" for standard size channels. But if I use "Standard" for any standard size channels, I am getting some thin, but bright blinking line on the top of the screen, almost on all of standard size TV chanels. What can I do with this? Does some body else have this kind of problem?
