Strengths: Good layout of remote and menus, wonderfully wide base.

Weaknesses: Poor broadcast reception, snowy picture on all reception, poor picture quality with dvd playback.

Summary: I purchased this TV as a kitchen unit, trying to replace another LCD (Westinghouse 26") that had one small problem, but functioned well otherwise. Boy, was I surprised when, after the easy setup, I found that the LG showed very poor broadcast reception. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex where there is ample opportunity for both analog and digital broadcast viewing. This unit, however, had a monstrous time picking up more than about half of the stations that the Westinghouse was able to recieve. Also, once recieved, the picture presented was much less than acceptable, not at all what would be expected from such a well known brand of electronics manufacturer. I tried to adjust the picture through the menus, I could not find any of the usual opportunities presented with other sets. All that seemed available was the Automatic adjustments, which left me with this nasty picture. Moving on to the playback of dvd's, I have to admit that it was easy to use the remote to move to the proper output for that machine. However, the picture again was pixelated and the colors were smeared without the usual wonderful picture expected from an LCD screen. No adjusting could be found except the usual screen ratio which would allow the picture to be spread across more of the screen. I could go into detail about the several things I enjoyed about this unit (the setup, the remote's capabilities, etc), but the expected outcome of a TV is to enjoy a good picture. This unit most certainly DID NOT deliver. I took it back for a refund.

Strengths: Very clear picture and vibrant colors. Very reasonable price. Perfect size for a bedroom tv.

Weaknesses: None that I have seen so far.

Summary: I was looking for a second LCD TV for my bedroom. I have a large Samsung LCD TV now and was leaning towards getting a smaller version for my bedroom. When in the store I compared the picture and price between the two and decided to go with this TV instead. For the price difference and picture quality, I decided to go with the LG.

Strengths: I got this LCD for a great price and has great picture quality.

Weaknesses: It isn't the biggest screen, but it works if you want something for the bedroom.

Summary: I bought this TV for my bedroom. I didn't want to get something too big, but that would be easy to move since I am in college still. I originally was looking at 22-23" Samsung's but I found this 26" for a great deal. The picture quality was great compared to some of the others in the store. Even from side angles the picture was good. It was also easy to navigate and figure out. Overall, this is a great TV if you are looking to buy a LCD for the first time.
