Strengths: A good workout from shipping them back.
Weaknesses: Keep having to send them back.
Summary: Being I am on my fourth Westinghouse TV I can not rate them high at all. My first set had the sound go out early on so it went back to the place where I purchased it. The second set developed sound issues as well, so it went back too. The third lasted a little longer before developing display problems with lines in the screen. This one had to back to Westinghouse directly. So after talking with them I was ashored that they would expidite the replacement being this is my forth TV and should take no more than two weeks. Ok fine no problem. To make a long story short. It?s now been over a month and still no TV. When I call all I get is ?it?s in processing?, I?ve talked with supervisors hoping to get some additional info, and again nothing. Just false promise?s and shipping dates that don?t happen. So I call again and say ?ok, so when is it going to go out?? and again I get ?any day now, it?s in processing if you don?t get it by such and such a date call us back?.What a bunch of crap! I?ve never felt so stone-walled by a company before in my life.So in a quick sumation. The sound quality is poor, the picture quality is good when working properly, and the customer service is the worst I?ve ever seen. BEWARE!

Strengths: Great connectivity and easy setup. Color and other settings very good right out of the box. Excellent picture, especially when considering great price. Nice matte finish.
Weaknesses: Stand is a little less than solid, though usable.
Summary: Very nice picture quality and a full selection of connectivity options for a best-in-class price makes this unit a great deal. The side pointing connections along the center spine are very convenient. The on-screen setup menus are straightforward and helpful. Sources are recognized automatically and the remote can also switch them easily. The remote layout is basic, with 3 programmable channel buttons. Though black/grey tone display has been discussed as this unit's weak point, without side-by-side comparison, I find no issues there and find that overall it delivers solid performance.

Strengths: Superb cabinet design, excellent value, no dead/stuck pixels, fantastic picture quality on bright/colorful images, very low power comsumption with backlight turned down (~120 Watts), lots of inputs
Weaknesses: Sometimes has trouble switching inputs, blanks out for several seconds whenever input format changes, blacks are grayish, poor display of shadow detail
Summary: I was aware that this model had some issues from reading the AVSForum discussion (I highly suggest Googling for this), but I took the plunge anyway because of the unit's low price and otherwise great features (4 HDMI inputs, 1080p). So far I'm very happy with it. Some of the supposed problems are reproducible on my unit, but they really don't seem to be that significant. Other reported problems I have not seen at all, so YMMV.This TV is stellar for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 games, since these sources tend to be relatively bright and colorful and play to the Westie's strengths. I don't see any lag or smearing. I've had no connectivity problems with either game console. The PS3 does switch video modes frequently, which is a minor annoyance on this TV.The TV's weak spot is dark material such as the movie Dark City. It's certainly watchable, but in addition to the relatively high gray levels I have the impression that a lot of shadow detail is disappearing. The AVSForum community seems to have converged on the following settings as more or less optimal: brightness +40, contrast +64, color balance Neutral or Warm, saturation 60.This model deserves special mention because the frame IS NOT SHINY, which is practically unheard of in this day of piano-finish obsession. In fact, it's the handsomest flat screen that I've seen. If you like simple, clean design, this is the set is for you.Overall, I'm very happy with it and recommend it.

Strengths: Price, 1080P, easy setup
Weaknesses: remote
Summary: I owned the 40" model that has the DVD player and had no problems, so I thought I'd give this a try. I have been very pleased with the purchase. Setup was easy. It took a while to scan all of my cable channels, but it found all of them including the HD channels. The audio is a little low, but not that big of a deal. The picture is very clear. Especially when watching HD sporting events. DVDs look great too. The remote is a little touchy. Sometimes it thinks I pressed the button twice when I only pressed it once. I am very pleased with this TV and I would recommend it.

Strengths: big, 1080p
Weaknesses: not sure
Summary: I like the size of this much better. My 37 inch was to small. The price on this was the best part. It seems to do everything the TVs costing way more do.

Strengths: reasonable price, overall picture quality, attractive tv frame
Weaknesses: black levels can definitely be better, some macro blocking during sports events.
Summary: I will admit this TV is not in the elite level for LCD due to the black levels. However, it is a very good performer at its price level. HD channels, Wii, Xbox 360 games all look great. Its definitely been an upgrade for me over the previous version (Westinghouse LVM-42). The TV frame itself is also surprisingly attractive.

Strengths: Price, Size, and Decent Quality
Weaknesses: Burnt Pixel, Low Contrast Ratio, and Limited Video/Audio Inputs
Summary: This LCD TV is an excellent deal when you compare the price and the size of it to other similar LCD TVs. You save at least about $500. I paid $1436 which includes the tax and the shipping from BestBuy's website. So far I have used it for about two weeks and I like it very much. The size of it is just amazing! Comparing the specs of this Westinghouse model to the specs of similarly sized LCDs from Sony, Toshiba, and Samsung, this is a great deal. In some cases, the Westinghouse offered more functionality if not comparable functionality. This Westinghouse model also offered 4 HDMI ports opposed to the 3 HDMI ports offered by Toshiba and Samsung. The ports are coveniently lined up in the back pointing outwards towards the side. I find this set up easier to access than to have the ports point downwards towards the ground. The dynamic contrast ratio is 5000:1 even though it is not highly advertised; it is written on the box. Be very careful when you first take the LCD out of the box. The box's instructions can be a little misleading. One major complaint that I have is that the LCD has 1 burnt pixel upon arrival. The burnt pixel can be seen from up to 3 feets away with a black background; otherwise, it is not noticeable. I do not know if the other brands have this issue. I would still buy this LCD TV considering the price value of it.

Strengths: Price, sound, picture, design, dimensions and overall value.
Weaknesses: None yet
Summary: Between the sale price and an additional 12% off coupon, I paid just over $1,500.00 for this TV with a 4 year warrant at my local Best Buy. I initially was looking at a Samsung for about twice that price, but the picture on this set is very good and the sound is very, very good. Why spend twice as much for a little more? With an upconvert DVD player, DVDs look excellent. For a first time LCD HDTV buyer, I highly recommend. Tomorrow, I pick up the cable HDTV tuner.

Strengths: Value, price, variety of inputs/outputs, size, and clarity.
Weaknesses: Stand, only one coaxial connection, and packaging.
Summary: I spent almost a year researching various LCD and plasma HDTVs before I chose the Westinghouse TX-series 47" LCD HDTV. It had everything I was looking for: great value, 1080p, incredible clarity, every input/output I could need, and a large display with minimal shell-casing around it. This model is highly comparable to the high-end similar HDTVs by Samsung, Sony, and Sharp, but at half the cost. The only weaknesses I have identified so far include a not so sturdy stand, only one coaxial connection (many high-end models have two), and there is no styrofoam to protect the display from punctures during transport, only corner protection (I had no shipping damage myself, but this is FYI for those who have theirs delivered).

Strengths: You can't find a better set for the price, but as you will see below there are still some issues with this set. Based upon Westinghouse's past performance they may not be fixed.
Weaknesses: A laundry list of issues, some of the simple like the lack of discrete inputs for the 4 HDMI inputs. (Which really is just an HDMI hub)
Summary: For the money this TV is hands down the best option. Sure they are better tv's out there that don't have any problems. But you would be paying another $1k at least for those tv's.This tv does what it is supposed to and at a price point that won't break the bank.
