Strengths: Picture, design, color, built in stand, variety of connections
Weaknesses: Sound output
Summary: Incredible picture!! It has the 120Hz refresh rate to help. The piano black border looks great. The built in stand swivels to allow multiple angles. This TV has a 179 degree viewing angle! I really can't describe how great the picture is. I picked this out immediately because of the picture. I noticed it from a showroom of about 30 or more TVs. It truly stands out. The size, 52", is perfect, not too big and not too small! This TV with the recent price decreases makes for one of the best purchases around! The speakers put out limited volume, but, that's a simple fix by connecting it to your home theater system. No other downfalls that I can think of and I have had this TV for two months now. Simply amazing!!

Strengths: 1080p picture is breathtaking. Plenty of inputs. Even turned off looks gorgeous.
Weaknesses: The 120hz feature is a nice bonus that most tvs don't have, but it doesn't work well with every source. You have t try yourself which ones handle it well and which ones don't. But hey, it's a bonus.
Summary: Breathtaking Picture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're a gamer, this is your set. Period. The 120hz feature is a nice bonus that most tvs don't have, but it doesn't work well with every source. You have t try yourself which ones handle it well and which ones don't. But hey, it's a bonus.I watched the HD-DVD of transformers in this baby as soon as it arrived and I was drooling. (I got it from buydig and I can't be happier) Then my wife said, Let's try the blacks and I popped up the Underworld Evolution bu-ray....Perfect Blacks. A little casino Royale in Blu-Ray, Breathtaking. PlayStation 3 games look just gorgeous. Just a warning, If you're using the HD-DVD add on for the xbox 360, turn the 120hz feature on the TV off. Otherwise the image will stutter. It's not the TV's fault thou. The Tv is just too much for the measly 360 add on. It's demanding a picture out of the USB port that the 360 just can't keep up with. This set is just THE ONE.

Strengths: 1080P /The Gaming mode! / 120Mhz / Blacks
Weaknesses: The box weighs like 138lbs so I had to make sure I had some help getting it in the house and up the stairs. Other than that this TV is amazing.
Summary: For the price I got this as was a STEAL. My first LCD was a 32XBR1 and paid just about the same price I paid for this one and I purchased it the day the Xbox 360 was released. I loved that TV and it is still holding strong but I needed someone to compliment the new room and the my new collection of HD-DVD's. Soon as I fired up this TV, programmed the HD channels and it was ready to go. I used my media center to watch and record HD channels over my home network. The quality is crisp coming through the Xbox 360. I was able to see this TV side by side at a local circuit city and that sealed the deal for me. It might not have the look of the XBR4/5 but it does have the picture quality. I am real particular when it comes to shopping for electronics. I watch alot of news shows and play video games so a LCD suited me more than a plasma or DLP. If you are in the market for one, I would recommend this TV. At least two of my neighbors purchased one after seeing mine while we played Halo 3.

Strengths: Best picture in the market.
Weaknesses: Be Aware. This TV does not work with all Audio Formats.
Summary: I have only been able to get this TV to work with PCM uncompressed audio. Samsung customer support can not provide a list of all supported audio formats. They went as far as saying it is not guaranteed to work with all Blu Ray players from other manufactures. For smaller size models, Samsung has issued a firmware upgrade to fix this problem. Per Samsung customer support supervisor "No firmware upgrade for this model. No plans for one either." I would not purchase this TV unless you are planning to use it with an external reciever/speaker setup for audio. speakers

Strengths: 120Hz refresh rate that reduces blur.Great blacks for a LCD.Hidden built in speakers for those with a system.Swivel Stand.
Weaknesses: In Standard Definition, a plasma should still beat it for picture quality.Screen is glossy, so some complain about glare.
Summary: I ordered the TV from one of the vendors on pricegrabber. It was took about a week but I got the TV in great condition, no problems. I got a good price so I couldn't pass it up. I'm the type of person that researches things to death before buying something. So I reasearched LCDs for the past 3 years and finally decided to take the plunge. The obvious drawbacks for myself with a LCD is that I watch a lot of Standard Definition (SD) TV because I have a regular Tivo but I felt this was the right time to buy. This model the 71 series competes directly with the Sony XBR4 series. The XBR5 is the same TV as the XBR4 with a different cabinet and extra port. I should also mention that there is the Samsung 81 series, the 81 series used LED backlighting instead of the standard CCFL. It's new technology, it's suppose to make the darks darker, so basically better contrast but from what I saw in the store, the picture quality of the 71 is much better. Sure the 81 had a darker black but the picture quality was not as good. Wait another year or two before buying a LED based LCD. Now back to the 71 series. This TV flat out has the best picture quality of any LCD as of the day I write this review. Sure next year the next best thing will come along and be better but as of now there is no better LCD picture. You get what you pay for, so compare this TV to a cheap Visio at Sam's Club or Costco. There's no competition. If you are looking for just a cheap set so you can watch some TV, then go buy a Vizio. Vizios are fine and as long as you don't see this TV in real life, you'll never know the difference. This Samsung is the best widely available LCD right now. It beats the Sony XBR4 because of less LCD bleed. The 2 Sonys I saw had leakage in the LCD, when the screen goes dark, you can see something like a light haze on the edges. So this TV is not cheap but it is the best set made right now. The 120Hz refresh does make a difference especially in fast moving movies and sports on ESPN HD. Good luck.
