Strengths: Picture Quality, Full 1080p HD, Excellent design.
Weaknesses: Price is high compared to similar models. Price did drop recently. Short warranty period. No media slot for Picture slideshow.
Summary: I was deciding on which flat panel display to buy plasma or LCD. I decided to go with the LCD models because they do not generate as much heat than the plasmas and the picture quality is even better on this set. Originally, I was looking at one of Sony's first 46" models: KDL-46V2500. It was around the current retail price at that time. However, I figured that they would be coming out with the XBR series shortly since they have a similar line with their 40" models. I decided to get this model because of the recent price drop, and reading the reviews gave this model one of the highest ratings I've seen. According to the salesman, this received an excellent rating from Consumer Reports. The Bravia engine they use to generate the picture for this model is excellent. I compared this with other LCDs on display, and there is no comparison on the picture quality for this model which is awesome. Another plus is the unique frame that outlines the display. This is simply a nice piece of "art" to hang on the wall. Overall, an excellent product from one of the leading manufacturers of LCD TVs. Highly recommend this product.

Strengths: Stunning picture
Weaknesses: price
Summary: I never considered Plasma TV's because of the amount of electricity they use and also the reflections on their face. After those criteria the next was picture quality. A Sony was sitting next to a same size Sharp and while both had a good picture there was something about the Sony that sold me. The color seemed more intense without looking unreal. Also fast motion was not blurred. I've had the set two weeks and while the programming hasn't gotten better, the quality of outdoor scenes is amazing. By the way some actors might think twice about closeups. Finally the only negative is Sony's always higher price. I paid 3K at PC Richard here on LI. I'm sure the price will drop, but I'm also getting older too. Oh for what its worth, the warranty is a full 18 months.

Summary: I have been waiting for this TV to come to the US for the past year. I first saw it in Tokyo Japan and the quality of the picture compared to other brands is unsurpased. I also feel that Sony has one of the best reputations in the world.

Strengths: Picture quality is outstanding, very simple to install, LCD TV are not heavy compare to other types of big screen tv.
Weaknesses: LCD TV are thin and one should installed additional restrain to avoid "tip over".
Summary: Sony has done remarkable engineering in "XBR" type LCD TV, in effect it has outstanding picture, contras and auto picture adjustment to outside light. I fully recomend KDL46XBR346 (46 inch is good size). Cost is high but i think it is justified. Remote control is OK. (I prefere back lite). One more thing, the sony warrenty is only for year, like to see three years. Overall SONY XBR is the best money can buy.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, vivid and real pictures. Most advantage from HD sources like Blu-ray players.
Weaknesses: Remote is not backlit, there is not PIP.
Summary: I was looking to change my large living room HDTV for a new 1080P, and after reading a lot of reviews on top of the line TVs, I pre-ordered this TV directly from Sony. I did not look for plasmas, because of the glare problem, burning and limited resolution of most sets. As any XBR series, has many customizations and features. The picture quality is outstanding. It is the best LCD TV on the market. You will not be disappointed. I still get impressed of the picture quality every time I turn it on. I am an early adopter of HD and I have had several other sets. This TV puts my other HDTVs to shame and is forcing me to change them. :( Overall: Is is a little pricey, but you pay what you get. You will not regret buying it once you see it. I recommend, as with any other TV, to calibrate it to get the best out of this.

Strengths: Picture clarity, easy setup, simple operation
Weaknesses: One of the best LCD 1080P sets available, but does not have the black levels of plasmas, but LCD's do not support the gray scales like plasmas.
Summary: Very impressed with the picture, setup, and easy intuitive operation of the set. Would be great if it incorporated HDMI V1.3, but no sets support this standard yet. Picture is very bright, crisp, with little artifacts. Highly recommend this set. Also picked up the set for $3150 brand new, right off the floor.

Strengths: Full HD unbelievible picture quality, nice design,Easy to set up.
Weaknesses: Price but you get what you pay for
Summary: I was really up in the air before the actual purchase. I had looked at the Samsung and the sharp but as you see the Sony wins again. There was a few things that pushed me to the Sony for the extra money. The first was it was rated number one in every review i read on LCD TVs, Two had a 18 month warranty, Three the picture just looked the best out of all three. As a do it yourselfer i wanted to mount this TV over our fireplace in the den the HDMI cables really came in handy for running the wires behind the wall. The TV was very easy to set up. I purchased the TV from PC Richard's on Long Island Paid $3194.00 excluding tax which i felt was a very good price the service was also excellent. After owning this TV for two weeks now and the project is complete i can honestly say i love everything about this XBR3. So as the saying goes you get what you pay for. In my case money well spent.

Strengths: Brilliant picture quality and great 1080p and standard def.
Weaknesses: Hazy clouds appear in dark scenes after TV has been on for 10 minutes or more.
Summary: Sony should fix the Mura defects on this line of TVs. All 46" LCD XBRs seem to have this defect. Search for XBR Mura on google to get a 125 page thread and lots of pictures from many a XBR owner complaining about this defect.

Strengths: Picture is better than I can describe - top notch, probably the best. All the inputs you will ever need. Cabinet is really high class - doesn't detract from any room decor. Good sound quality
Weaknesses: Expensive, but you do get what you pay for. Menu takes some getting used to, but manual does walk you through. Need to be careful in handling it - you can't lift it by the "Floating glass" frame
Summary: I highly recommend getting a calibration device like the Monster ISF series HDTV calibration DVD - it really makes a difference to adjust each setting, and the names (picture, sharpness, etc) do not really describe what each is doing. I would get this DVD regardless of the TV you buy to get the most out of your HDTV

Strengths: Picture quality, functionality, connectivity, audio, visually stunning.
Weaknesses: Price, remote control
Summary: Right out of the box this LCD is stunning. Looks even better on the wall. Picture quality is outstanding. HD tuning is quick. Plenty of connections for all your home theater gadgets (receiver, tivo, cable box, dvd, xbox360, etc). I would have preferred to pay less but really nothing comes close to a Sony. Everyone knows that.

Strengths: HD Picture quality
Weaknesses: Audio output
Summary: Just received this TV and all I can say is that you get what you pay for. Picture on High Def channels is great although like all of these TV?s the quality of normal channels like lifetime is not as good as I receive on my old Sony picture tube XRB.My only and one complaint is the optical audio output. I could not get it to work at all. I just found out on the Sony knowledge base the following: "Sound being input to the TV through the HDMI interface or other inputs will not be output through the Digital Optical Out jack?.Hard to believe Sony would manufacture a set of this quality and leave this design flaw. The only way to get the Optical output to work is to connect the set to VHF/UHF antenna or cable!! Come on Sony, we spend the bucks to use HDMI and see the fantastic picture but can?t get the sound??Well I guess it?s only me since I?m hearing impaired and rely on the audio outputs to drive a wireless headphone set. Everyone else is going to love the set.

Strengths: Outstanding picture quality, great black levels, has 1080P
Weaknesses: I bought this brand new so it was expensive, other then the price I cant think of any weaknesses
Summary: I have had the Sony Bravia XBR3 for about 6 months now. If you are planning on playing video games and watching movies then you will love this! You will love it for watching basic TV anyway but the movies and games is just unreal. I bought it when it was brand new for a lot of money-still totally worth it. So since the price has dropped quite a bit take advantage of that and go buy it! You will never need to go to the movie theatres again. Just get a PS3 watch some Blue Ray movies on your top of the line LCD!!
