Strengths: Great picture quality, number of inputs

Weaknesses: None so far

Summary: After seeing the HDTV I got for my room, my parents wanted one for the family room. A family friend recommended this one, so we ordered it. It would seem some people think it's really heavy (it required freight service), but given its size, the weight seems reasonable. And with two people setting it up, it doesn't seem all that heavy anymore. Having owned only one other HDTV, I can't give a thorough comparison with similar brands and models, other than that the picture is just as good as that on my 38", except bigger (both are 1080p). We aren't audiophiles, so I can't vouch for the sound fidelity, but it's perfectly adequate for our everyday viewing (satellite TV and the occasional upscaled DVD). I think it's fine, but my dad is looking to hook up a home theater system. We set it up on a wall mount, but we did have it rest on the stand while we were setting up the mount, so I at least know that it can hold the weight that long.

Strengths: Unit produces a deep level of black with highly accurate initial color temperatures; SD and HD both produce sharp crisp images; sleek glossy black design.

Weaknesses: Only 2 HDMI ports, Remote will not control Audio Amp out, Unit will not automatically switch from Stretch to HD when broadcasters change back and forth between HD and SD programming.

Summary: I purchased the Panasonic TH-PZ58700U from Sears for 3163.84 after rebate on 11/11/07 which I felt was an excellent price especially not having to buy from the internet. I have been using this unit for approximated 60 days and so far it is everything I expected especially at the price I purchased it for.The setup of this unit is a really simple process, follow the quick start guide and you will be up and enjoying HD in no time at all. The manual is straight forward and questions not answered in the manual can be answered by calling Panasonic?s toll free help line. When I called the number the lady who answered was very helpful in answering my questions and even suggested that she could register my unit with Panasonic which I did.My HD service is provided by a Dishnetwork DVR 722 HD receiver which connected to the HDMI port.I am impressed at the depth of the picture, striking color temperatures and impressive deep black levels. The set took very little adjustment to get what I will accept as the perfect picture. The HD is phenomenal to watch and the SD even produces a very high quality sharp picture. The sound system with the internal speakers and subwoofers produces exceptional sound, especially in the 12 X 14 room where I have the Panasonic wall mounted.Overall the 58" Panasonic is expensive, however if a person really shops they can have a superb Plasma unit at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend this unit.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, good remote control, and nice sound quality.

Weaknesses: Slightly too thick and runs a little hot.

Summary: Overall a great TV. The color tone beats the best LCD out there, it was definitely a lot more natural with this plasma. The price has dropped quite rapidly though since I bought it.

Strengths: Picture quality, blacks, great motion, resolution, anti-glare

Weaknesses: HDMI handshake can take a second or two; only component input in front.

Summary: I've been looking for a big honking TV for a long, long time now. This set simply has the most beautiful set short of the Pioneer Kuros that cost nearly twice as much. Standard definition looks great on this set, HD is just superb. The built in upscaler is also high-quality -- DVDs from my ancient 480i DVD player are crisp and look fantastic! Even with the picture settings turned down during the burn-in period, it still looks brilliant. The anti-glare filter is also much better than I expected (and in-store, they keep the lights down low so you never are exactly sure what to expect). We got glare from other room lights off our old 32" CRT, but it's not even noticeable on this plasma. An added bonus is a VGA port in the back. Time to run a really long cable for my laptop!

Strengths: Huge screen! Color is vivid and realistic. Plenty of accessory slots...

Weaknesses: It spoils u! When u watch High Definition channels on this TV u will b amazed and never want to watch anything other than high def

Summary: Like other people...i did alot of research before deciding on this 58 panny...u will not be disappointed in your choice...i debated whether to buy it online or at Frys Electronics store...when they had a one day sale at 3000 dollars i had to scoop it up...yeah i paid tax, but they delivered it to my home and set it up...no cost...i absolutely love it!!!!i decided not to buy it online because if something were to go wrong with it, guess who would have to pay the shipping and restocking fees? that would be incredibly burdensome and costly...plus Frys like many other stores give u 0 interest loans for 2 years...no one does that online without agreeing they could watch u go to the bathroom lol...check CNETs review out...they give u tips on the best settings...there have been alot of comments about the audio not being good...it is not true, if u set the bass up higher and treble lower, it delivers incredible sound! unlike many of the tvs, it actually has 2 subwoofers as well as tweeters...high def gaming with Xbox is unbelievable...watching football games incredible! u can actually see the texture of the field and the frost...its like looking through a window and into reality itself! and thats at 720 resolution! wait until cable television goes to 1020p which is twice the resolution! I dont see how anyone can wrong with this tv at these prices...some of the other models could go as high as 7000 dollars or more and with less quality!

Strengths: Great picture, far better looking in my home than it ever looked in one of the big box stores where this model of television is on display.

Weaknesses: No defined weakness has been determined yet.

Summary: Displays of this television at the big box stores does a major injustice to the picture quality. I visited 5 different stores in the Los Angeles area and not one of them set the picture correctly. I was glad I read reviews on this site as well as others which I trusted that stated the picture would be fantastic once it was set up at my home. High definition tv is addictive, the clarity is impossible to describe and has to be seen to appreciate the difference. The difference between high definition and regular tv would be like flying first class vs. flying in the back of the plane with large passengers on either side of you. This television will spoil you.

Strengths: Beautiful picture

Weaknesses: Have not found even one.

Summary: We had researched, read reviews, and visited local stores to compare LCD, rear projection, and plasmas. We decided that Panasonic just couldn't be beat. The picture quality was so much more vivid and vibrant. The size is wonderful for a large room and our plans to entertain many. We could not be more pleased.

Strengths: crisp picture, sd card slot plays hd photos when not in use

Weaknesses: frame is a little bit wide, audio could be crisper

Summary: i work as a tv sportscaster, so it was important to get a big tv to watch sporting events. i was looking at the pioneer kuro, but it was a bit too expensive. the panasonic still delivers a great picture and i was able to save at least $1500. what clinched it was consumer reports saying this model is the best plasma they have ever reviewed.

Strengths: beautiful picture right out of the box

Weaknesses: none really - only 2 HDMI inputs

Summary: after debating long and hard between LCD vs Plasma, I decided on plasma because at this size+price, there's just nothing even close in LCD. I was also considering the Samsung FP5884, but the Circuit City folks laughed at how easy images burned in that TV (a big "4" from the fanatastic 4 bluray DVD was burned into it).I managed to pick up the TV for $3199 at Circuit City after they agreed to match Fry's online sale price. Even managed to get 36 mo 0% financing from CC! On to the review -- the box is freaking HUGE for this TV and weighed approx 180lbs! right out of the box, the picture is simply stunning either from HD-DVD or HD Sat TV. Even standard res looks decent. VERY VERY satisfied with my purchase! thank you Panasonic for making this thing! I'll probably NEVER go to the movie theater again!

Strengths: Smooth Motion, Amazing Picture, Color.

Weaknesses: Heavy, Little Thick.Integrated speakers are average.

Summary: After several weeks of research in big TV, I found that Panasonic Plasma is the best in picture quality. For some reason the sales people at stores dial this TV in dark, but mine is as bright as I want and could go much brighter. HD picture is amazing in broadcast over antenna or satelite dish. Not only is the HD crystal clear, the SD programs come in very clear as well. Standard def looks a little washed out. The sound of Speakers are not bother me at all. With this TV, You might have Audio System anyways. Bottom line, stop reading all this stuff and go buy it.

Weaknesses: None that I can find...would be nice if the speakers were deteachable.

Summary: I am very happy with this purchase after many months of research and price hunting. If you are in the market for a 1080p plasma and you do not want to spend a fortune, this is your HDTV.

Strengths: Great picture; great sound

Weaknesses: The TV itself is gorgeous. It is heavy and requires either professional installation or two strong people.

Summary: I had been set on getting Panasonic's TH-58PX600U after reading the rave review and #1 ranking it got in Consumer Report's Spring 2007 Electronics Guide. I took a chance on the TH-58PZ700U, figuring it was worth the additional $$$ to get 1080i. Was it worth it? In a word . . . Yes. The picture quality is good for both SD and HD, and the sound fills the room.
