Strengths: Picture quality; value; case/cabinet is aesthetically pleasing

Weaknesses: One minor problem, have to take mine back after less than 3 weeks for a panel problem. Waiting for Circuit City to have get it back in stock.

Summary: I researched plasma/LCD HDTVs to death for about a year. My main reason for purchasing an HDTV was to watch football. After looking at LCDs and plasmas side by side, plasma easily won out. The picture LCDs in my price range were too jagged when watching sports.I only considered two brands - Panasonic and Samsung. After comparing the two brands, the Panasonic was clearly the better buy for me.I've found myself watching football teams that I care nothing about, just because the picture is so good that it feels like I'm actually at the game. We've also become fans of the Food Network and HGTV in HD. Yeah, I know it sounds nerdy, but these channels both rock in HD. As do Animal Planet and National Geographic HD. As for price, I was able to buy the television at Circuit City for $1,259. They had it on sale for $1,399, and I received an additional 10% off by ordering it online and picking it up at my local store. I shopped online and could have gotten it cheaper, but I was concerned about having to return it if something went wrong. I'm glad I did. I've got a problem with the lower right-hand part of the set. There's a bar that comes up, about 2 1/2" wide by 10 1/4" tall when I turn it on (not always, but most of the time). After about 30 minutes, it goes to about 1 1/4" wide and black. Then after 15 more minutes, it goes to an opaque yellow or green I've already talked to my local Circuit City and as soon as they get the television back in stock, I'll be exchanging it for a new one just like it.

Strengths: color, picture, anti-reflective screen, built-in speakers

Weaknesses: Haven't found any yet!

Summary: Great color, picture. We are really pleased with the anti-reflective screen as well. Make sure and use good cables though as the sound is poor if you use an older type cable.

Strengths: Easy setup, beautiful picture, very little glare in a very sunny room

Weaknesses: No picture-in-picture, remote won't run our (older RCA) DBS box.

Summary: We love our new Panasonic plasma. Setup was easy. Picture and sound are great. The room is quite sunny, and there are no issues with glare. I would highly recommend this TV to others, compared to others in its price range. After seeing HDTV via our antenna, I want to upgrade my DBS system to HD.

Strengths: Great high definition picture, plenty of inputs, nice sounding speakers

Weaknesses: Standard definition challels a bit fuzzy

Summary: I was a bit skeptical when I first purchased this TV, due to the fuzziness of the standard definition broadcasts. However, after upgrading my Direct TV receiver to a high definition receiver HDMI cables and purchasing high def access, I am very happy with the high def channels. The speakers sound great (better than my stereo speakers). The TV is relatively light for a plasma, and I thought that the price was great.

Strengths: Beautiful picture with DVD movie

Weaknesses: None

Summary: Just had a dinner/movie party with three other families last night. Everyone was pleased with the detailed clarity and resolution of the picture. Have not seen any HDTV broadcast since I have not decided to go with satellite or cable. (I am considering HDTV antenna so that I would be able to sample what the high definition would look like.) But even with standard definition, sports broadcasts have been impressive. Just the day after I received this TV, Consumer Reports rated this Panasonic model the top rated 42 inch plasma.

Strengths: Fantastic picture quality, beautiful exterior, easy to set up.

Weaknesses: My husband asked me to help him lift it. Why would he do that? It's only 42 inches.

Summary: I have to agree with the other review that the TV has no clicking noise, as reported by some other earlier users of this TV. One weakness is that standard definition TV looks fairly bad, as the picture can get fuzzy and snowy. I selected the 77U over the 75U simply based on it's anti-glare screen and was not disappointed. I've had very little reflections.

Strengths: Very easy to install. The Anti-glare feature helps cut light coming in through a window.

Weaknesses: None

Summary: Upon turning it on I could see the huge difference. This model is fantastic. The images are so clear you almost forget you are watching the Television. Purchased over the internet after reviewing elsewhere. Saved about $300. My wife and I are very pleased with this model. Also looked at the same Panasonic 52" model, but for a bedroom who needs the extra visitor in bed with you.

Strengths: Anti-glare, great color, built-in speakers and cable tuner

Weaknesses: None

Summary: I selected the 77U over the 75U simply based on it's anti-glare screen and was not disappointed. I've had very little reflections. It's a great plasma set that easily beats the cheaper LCD sets with much better blacks. I was a little worried about SD, but it even performs well on the older signals coming from my ReplayTV. The built-in cable card easily picks up Charter's regular basic channels and as a bonus, it picks up other people's DVR selections as they watch them. I could not ask for anything more and highly recommend it. Remember to do the 100 hour full screen DVD burn-in just to make sure you do not get unwanted left over images. After 100 hours, it takes a lot to leave unwanted retentions.

Strengths: Fantastic picture quality, beautiful exterior, easy to set up.

Weaknesses: color reproduction is still not up to standard of best analog TV, Standard Definition TV looks fuzzy.

Summary: I bought this TV about two weeks ago, and so far it meets my expectations. Picture quality is outstanding on DVD with HDMI input on 1080P (down converted to 720P). Color, black level are excellent, as movies such as The Matrix show all the details in the dark scenes. My TV has no clicking noise, as reported by some other earlier users of this TV. One weakness is that standard definition TV looks fairly bad, as the picture can get fuzzy and snowy. Turning on noise reduction helped somewhat. But with the price around $1200 now, this TV is a bargain for the overall quality.

Strengths: Awesome conectivity and enough HDMI inputs, deep black levels, good with SD channels as well as HD.

Weaknesses: Could suffer from burn in if gaming a lot.

Summary: This is a great tv for the price. Panasonic reproduced deep blacks and enough options for a consumer to calibrate picture to perfection. The anti glare technology works great, and the tv is able to display 1080I images with ease. This plasma is also okay for use in higher altitudes, so fears of plasmas in these environments is obsolete.
