Strengths: tv is excellent when it is working no complaints

Weaknesses: short lifespan

Summary: My brother bought a 42 inc westinghouse lcd. I went over and checked it out and i was very impressed. Week later I went and got a 47 inch for my home. 6 months later we were both experiencing screen freeze and power issues. We both had to unplug and reset the tv occasionally. This went on for about a year. Last month his tv made a loud popping sound and went completely dead. This week my 47 inch went black and will never come back. Either a big coincidence or these lcds just don't last.

Strengths: Low Price Point - Average Picture

Weaknesses: Terrible Quality - Avg Picture - Bad Customer Service

Summary: I bought 2 units from Best Buy in November of 2006. Both units are now bad as of Dec. 2007. One unit is experiencing 5 secs of a solid color (changes all the time) intermittently. The other one has developed some lines in the background that are very noticable. Called Westinghouse and they told me I am out of luck since they were both 1 month out of warranty. Avoid this model if you can.

Strengths: Price, huge size, color reproduction, 1080p

Weaknesses: remote

Summary: Have been using this TV for about 6 months now. I wrote a review before but somehow wasn't posted here. :?Anyways, I've been very satisfied with this TV. No complaints at all except for the remote that acts out once in a while. But that problem's gone now that I switched to a logitech harmony remote. I have it connected to my pc, dvd player and a samsung tuner. I don't own an hdtv player yet, but all the dvds look great with upscaling. The games look awesome.. sometimes I have to move my head side to side to look at what's going on the screen.. lol.I think these are replaced by a newer model now, but if you find one of these, get it. It's a great monitor.

Strengths: VERY Sharp picture. Shaper than Sony or Samsung. GREAT price.

Weaknesses: Some "blurring" on moving items. Not sure if it is the firmware or panel but it isn't a big deal. The color does change slightly at extreme viewing angles. Speaker seems to get distorted at times.

Summary: The weaknesses might cause me to rate this at a 4.5 stars but that isn't an option so I leaned toward 5 stars. The speaker isn't a big deal because I use surround sound. The off angle color shift is slightly annoying but not major. The "blurring" on scrolling bars on ESPN and such are also not a big deal. Given the speed to the refresh this is probably a firmware artifact which will likely be dealt with on firmware upgrades.

Strengths: 1080P, price, display size

Weaknesses: wash out

Summary: I really like this tv. For the price, I really can't complain about anything. Love the 1080P movies that I watch with my hi-def player. The screen is huge, but after having it for a while doesn't look too big.. lol. The colors are great, good contrast, blacks are nice. Only problem I noticed is that the colors are washed out if I view from the sides. Other than that, this was a great purchase! Highly recommended

Strengths: 47", 1080, price, DVI

Weaknesses: washed out colors, banding, dead pixels

Summary: This is a good display if you can find a unit that is not defective. I've been unlucky enough to get it with banding, and dead pixels even after exchanging it a couple of times.I found one with just a few dead pixels that I can live with. The price is one of the most attractive things about this monitor. Also, the ability to display 1080p and 1920 x 1080 resolution from my computer is a huge plus. The unit does have very limited view angles and the colors become washed out if you're watching unless you are sitting right ahead. But for the price, I'm happy with it.

Strengths: clear pic, great sound, nice design, easy hook up

Weaknesses: regulating sound with remote is difficult

Summary: clear pic, great sound, nice design, easy hook up, works great with pc attached, nice resolution, easy to maneuver because of size and weight, 78 lbs and 9" deep with stand attached.

Strengths: Huge, 1080p, clear, cheap

Weaknesses: lack of tuner, remote sensor, speaker, washed out color

Summary: I got this TV a month ago and I am pleased with it. It was a lot cheaper compared to other brands. All my hi def movies look great with my blue ray player. I also use it for my PS3 and the quality of games is cool. The only thing I don't like is how the color is washed out when viewing from an angle. You have to be sitting straight in front of it to appreciate it's color. But you don't notice this unless you keep on swaying your head back and forth :pOverall though, this is a great TV for the price.

Strengths: 1080p, 47", DVI, HDMI inputs, price

Weaknesses: no TV tuner

Summary: Bought this monitor a few weeks ago and I really like it so far. This was my first big screen TV and I upgraded from a 20" widescreen monitor. I use it primarily as a PC monitor and this thing is huge + awesome!! It really shines as a TV monitor. The text and images are sharp on 1920 x 1080 resolutions and my games with AA + all other eye candy turned on look amazing on it. I wish it had a TV tuner so that I wouldn't have had to buy a separate tuner for it to watch OTA HDTV channels. The TV quality through my HTPC was horrible which is to be expected since it was an analog signal, at a low res plus this monitor is so big.But as I said I use it as my monitor and I am very satisfied with the image quality it produces as a monitor.

Strengths: Price, 1920 x 1080 resolution, large number of inputs

Weaknesses: No TV tuner, poor remote

Summary: I bought this monitor from Best Buy 2 weeks ago and have been very pleased with it so far. Setup was easy especially with all the inputs this monitor has. I am very impressed with its ability to support the 1920 x 1080 resolution when connected to my PC and the color and clarity when tuned to HD programming is great! The remote is poor and I cannot find a code for the TV so it can be controlled by my DirecTV remote. The monitor has one dead pixel but it is not noticeable. These are minor weaknesses and I can live with them. My big concern has to do with its long term reliability. It comes with a standard one year warranty and I am not a big fan of purchasing extended warranties. There are other manufacturers which have come out with similar models at a similar price (Vizio & Philips to name two). I have 30 days in which to decide if I want to return it to Best Buy. I may consider buying a different LCD HDTV from Costco which has a better return policy if something goes wrong.

Strengths: Excellent color, great viewing angles, no dead pixels, great price, easy setup for cable users

Weaknesses: Remote is marginal, Stand is not easily removeable, Audio is average.

Summary: I hooked my Westinghouse LCD up to an HDTV Cox Cable box and a Sony XBOX. The color settings were almost perfect from the factory. The colors are bright and true. The viewing angles are excellent both horizontally and vertically.

Weaknesses: Remote looks likes its from the 80'sStyling not the best

Summary: I bought this tv after reading various reviews and months of scouring. I dont purchase anything inless im 100% sure this is it and it was the same with this tv. Read good and bad reviews and heard some horror stories but once I saw the screen in Best buy and messed with the settings I realised how good the picture can be. Purchased it with a 4 yr protection plan so i dont need to worry bout that. Hooked it up to my PC and xbox 360 and can honestly say it is by far the best picture ive seen. The colors are awesome and the clarity is sharper than my dell 30". They say you get what you pay for but this is the best $2k ive ever spent. Wait till you see hi-def on it. Amazing.

Strengths: excellent pic quality, black levels are awesome, HD looks spectacular

Weaknesses: none other than the remote, but it's a non issue for me

Summary: I got this a week ago from my local Best Buy for 1,699 and I love it, did a lot of looking before I got this one. I had the 42" 1080p model 42w2 which looks identical to this but I returned it to the store and waited for this larger one. no dead pixels, one of my worries and I love it, even SD channels looks great, but HDnet and all HD channels look awesome. I considered sony and sharp before I purchased this, but at double the price, no thanks. one last thing, the sound out of this tv monitor is excellent I have my cable box hooked up to the HDMI connection and the sound and bass is excellent.

Strengths: Good Color,8ms is believable, price is unbeatable, many inputs is great(each input has a spec res for quality),the computer (1920x1080) vga in shows how flawless it is. No DEAD pixels!

Weaknesses: Power Cord socket is very touchy, for those who have power problems. The remote is good for setup only, get a nice all-in-one.

Summary: Sony is #1,Samsung #2 but both pricey,WESTINGHOUSE has no tuner so I bought one for $150,because I now get all the local hd stations which are really clearer. Total price for both w/tax NY 8% $2050 which is great. Also its $7 more a month for digital cable but with the quality picture its needed. If your picture is bad its because that is what your giving it.

Strengths: Great Value, Great Picture, Many Inputs, and 1080p resolution

Weaknesses: Crappy remote, exterior style is not as good, only one hdmi input, unable to adjust picture in detail from menu

Summary: I had to wait 2 months for this tv as it was on backorder from just about every store. Finally got it from crutchfield, and it was delivered to me within 2 days of getting it in stock. Best value of a 47" 1080p lcd tv for under $2700. The picture on this thing if fabulous and I just love the various inputs and picture quality. Wish their was more hdmi inputs, but still its nothing serious. It has not hdtv tuner, but then again, that is something I didn't need since I have a cable tv box anyway. This also looks great as a computer monitor as I have a HTPC hooked up to it and it is just fabulous.
