Strengths: Good price for the features.
Weaknesses: Worked for less than a day.
Summary: Poor product that does not charge; something wrong with it or it?s battery.Just after a few hours of use, it died. I charged it overnight per instructions when first got it yesterday and the battery capacity icon showed no change in capacity, even though the unit was indicating that it was charging (flashing lightning bolt; yes, I also tried charging with the switch in the locked mode). Decided to listen to some music anyway, then turned it off after a few hours when I was done. Tried to turn it on again, but would not turn on; dead?Tried to reset it per instructions, but would not turn on to do it.When first plugged into the computer, logo screen comes on and goes blank? and it glows, including the pause/play button (indicating that it?s charging properly). Will have to try talking to someone live; support instructions on their website proved useless. It?s been charging now for a few hours with no results; what a disappointment and a waste of time and money.

Strengths: Display, Scrolling and Menu structure
Weaknesses: Battery, Power/Hold switch design
Summary: I liked the player as a whole and as I got it for about $127, it is definitely a great deal for that price. The color display is great to view especially the color and clarity, but it is not bright enough to be visible outdoors in sunshine. Also the power/hold button is tight and difficult to operate with a single finger easily. Also the charge is supposed to last 12 hrs, but seems to run out a lot earlier. But the menus are pretty good and easy to navigate. The sound is also good. The supplied earbuds are as good/bad as the ones supplied with other mp3 players. Overall a great value for the price.

Strengths: - sharp picture- nice stereo sound- size
Weaknesses: - a very sensitive navigating pad- no detailed manual- The battery is charged with USB connection to the computer.
Summary: This is the best MP3 payler I have ever had so far. I had a Creative MP3 player (of couse not a Microphoto) which is no longer playing songs in MP3 format. Since I like their player so much that I want to give this brand another try. The size is just right. With it in the pocket I don't even feel a thing. Although its manual is not detailed enough, I was able to figure out everything in a few tries. I didn't even load the software before starting uploading the music into the player. Windows WMP is all I need for the music. I have not tried to load the pictures yet. I don't believe it'll be a trouble. It shows time on the screes while I'm listening to music or radio. While the song is being played, it not only shows time lapsed but also time left. Even though I adjusted to the least sensitive mode, the navigating pad remains sensitive for me. Sometimes I feel it works only with my fingertip on top of it. I also wish the battery can be charged in other ways besides USB connection. The only concern I have now is the battery cover. It feels loose. It may be falling off and missing before everything else goes bad.

Strengths: small size, stunning screen (OLED), great sound quality
Weaknesses: Sensative controls, cannot view pics while listening to music
Summary: Its unique design is very appealing and the OLED screen is wonderful The controls can be sensitive at times, but just takes a little getting used to. Also, why have a picture viewing feature when you can't access it when the music is playing, this is a big oversight in the design Overall, I have been very pleased with the features on offer at the price I paid; a nice balance..

Strengths: easy to use interface, compact and attractive design, light
Weaknesses: memory could be bigger, sensitive scrollpad, must install software to upload music
Summary: The Creative Zen Micro Photo is a solid mp3 player, built on the foundations and long history that Creative has in the mp3 player business. I purchased it for music and the price, not for the photo displaying ability, which i think is a gimmick. For the music playing ability, it is excellent, however. Its features include the standard fare: FM tuner/recorder, voice recorder, which is NOT included on iPods. Extra features include calendar, address book, scheduler, alarms, etc. making it a useful PDA to boot. The device is easy to use, but needs the software to be installed to upload music, making it difficult to steal your friends' collections. For the price I paid ($100 AR), there is no comparison.

Strengths: non
Weaknesses: did not work
Summary: Bought one for an upcoming trip. Great deal discovered through Price Grabber at Buy.com $130 less rebate of $30 less a discount of $30 for signing up for a buy.com credit card, couldn't beat it with a stick. BUT a non working unit arrived. The socket or cable were of such poor quality that a connection between the unit and the computer was never achieved. A know good cable would only charge the unit again no data connection achieved. Sent it back for a refund.

Weaknesses: hard to figure out how to get started because sometimes the computer doesnt dectect the player, needs a hi-speed USB
Summary: I really like this mp3 player. All of its features are really cool! It took me a long time to get started but once I did it went really fast and every thing was really easy to do. Also I really like the size it is smaller than I thought it would be but it is perfect. The sound is really good too it goes from really loud to really quiet.

Strengths: Viewing photos, Good lighting, FM tuner, removable battery, voice recorder.
Weaknesses: 4GB may not be enough
Summary: The features present in this model really stand out from other models. Though there are deals for other mp3 players that go as far as 30GB in size for the same price (refurbished of course), a key advantage to this mp3 player is its size. Since this product is small enough to always have on hand, I can use it to record my class lectures. Unlike some other mp3 players on the market, this one was well thought through. The features for this mp3 player are integrated rather than external attachments that must be paid for. Though the 4GB storage might be its only downfall. But this is really up to the end user. The ability to store/view photos also places a strain on this devices limited space. Definitely a great buy for those who are seeking a mp3 with several useful features.

Strengths: Affordable, Nice Size, Easy to Use, Wonderful Color
Weaknesses: NONE that I can see
Summary: Before purchasing this MP3 player, I did extensive research. There were a few basic things I was looking for. I wanted a color screen, something with at least 2GB of storage, something that looked really nice and modern, something that had great reviews, something that would allow you to look at pictures....and last but not least, something for $ 150.00 or less. After looking and looking and looking, I thought that was impossible to find. I would find one that would have a few of the qualities that I was looking for but would be lacking big time in other areas....UNTIL I found the Zen MicroPhoto 4GB by Creative. It had everything I was looking for and then some. Needless to say, I have had it for about a week now and I cannot find a single flaw. It is wonderful and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great product for a great price. It is very easy to use, looks and especially sounds great and is at a very affordable price.

Strengths: Creative software, user interface, FM tuner and recorder, battery swapable. Good company behind the product.
Weaknesses: Trickle charges when used with generic USB wall adapters and on PCs where the unit was NOT originally installed. Battery case comes off very easily.
Summary: This audio quality in the various EQ modes is one of the best I've heard. However the output level is not quite as loud as a Toshiba Gigabeat I've used, so large headphones and non-amplified speakers may seem underdriven. The FM tuning and preset if very easy to use. The user interface is very similar to IPOD, with the exception of the wheel. The transfer of protected (WRM) and non-protected media is accomplished using the same software interface versus a Toshiba gigabeat where you have to us WMP. One odd thing I discovered about this player is that I wasn't able to wall charge it using a generic USB charger. Also unsuccessful on a friend's PC, where the creative software was not installed. It would show the charging indicator for 5 seconds, then fade out, no blue glow around the player either. After a few iterations with Creative tech support, realized that what it was doing was trickle charging and would have taken days to fully charge. I was told that if I put the battery in LOCK mode, then it would charge normally. Haven't tried this yet.One thing I've learned is that if the unit is charging normally, the PLAY/PAUSE button and trim will glow blue even after the screen has gone dark. If the unit is not charging normally, then no LEDs are on at all.Another thing I discovered is that the battery cover slides off very easily, making it possible although improbable to lose your battery. A silicon case has helped address this problem.I would consider it one of the most reliable players on the market and would buy it again. Creative tech support was also very good and helpful.

Strengths: nice display, FM tuner, voice recording, good software bundle, price, playback quality
Weaknesses: touch pad is WAY too sensitive, no volume control when lockout is enabled, photo feature is not necessary
Summary: Great little sleek design. Love how the blue light glows all around the display, real cool looking. Love the playback quality and really good FM tuner as well. However, the sensitivity on the touch pad is WAY too high even on the lowest setting making navigation frustrating and difficult sometimes. Other than that this is a great MP3 player for the price when compared to the overpriced and underfeatured IPOD Nano.

Summary: The Zen MicroPhoto 4GB MP3 Player is a great player. It is unbelieveably low priced (I got mine for around $130) for 4GB . This is great for jogging or working out because it has a relatively small size. It also has mayn features including FM radio and is just an overall great product. You should definitely pay $10-$20 for a better mp3 player like this one.. it is definitely worth the extra money in the long run.

Strengths: Small, relatively light weight, looks cool when lit. Sound is good. Has tuner feature, calendar and contacts.
Weaknesses: Only works with Windows XPControls are very sensitive to touch, even on least sensitive setting.
Summary: I purchased this player for my husband for father's day. We have never owned an mp3 player, so I did quite a bit of research. I wanted to stay away from ipod, as I don't like the "monopoly" type situations, and I had been told that with ipod, they are more expensive because you pay for the name. I purchased a 4gb player with a tuner (which I've heard ipod doesn't have) for less than I could have gotten a 1gb ipod nano.I found some reviews for the Creative Zen, and found that the few weaknesses that were mentioned were things that either didn't apply to us, or wouldn't be a big deal. I researched a lot before I purchased, HOWEVER, I failed to notice that the software that comes with it requires that you have Windows XP. I was amazed nobody else mentioned this. We do not have XP, and I have found a way to copy songs from cds using the Windows Media Player, but have yet to burn songs from the internet or copy pictures to the device. I know it is my own fault for not looking into that, but I didn't even stop to consider that it wouldn't be compatible with other forms of Windows. We are due for a new computer anyway, and this will probably speed that up, but it would have been nice if someone would have mentioned it in the review. One thing that kind of surprised me is with the look of the player - the front face is black, but the back casing, usb plug, and earphones are white. It looks ok, it was just different than what I had pictured from seeing pictures of it on the internet. It looks ok though, and looks cool when lit (blue lights on touchpad and around outside of player's face.)I also saw online somewhere that Creative Zen doesn't recommend the bouncing and jostling of the device that would come with taking it jogging. But I assume that most mp3 players would do better without that kind of jostling, and they just don't tell you.The touchpad is very sensitive, even on the least sensitive setting. It can be frustrating, but I imagine after using it a bit more we will get a better feel for how to use it.Overall, we are pleased with this purchase. We really look forward to being able to fully utilize it when we can download the software that came with it, but even now we enjoy the quality of the music and the overall features of the player.I am considering purchasing an mp3 player for myself, and would definitely consider buying another Creative Zen Microphoto.
