Strengths: Video quality, small size, pricing, battery life
Weaknesses: Small screen for video, earbuds, glossy back
Summary: Overall, this is a very good product from Apple. With the addition of video, Apple has made the Nano much better. The video quality is fantastic, although the screen is a little small for watching video on. It is still very small, although a little wider than the last generation, but still fits anywhere. The ear buds are really bad, but you can buy different ones. The pricing is solid at $150. That's the same as the last generation, and this one is better. As usual, it is very easy to sync the iPod to iTunes. Just plug in the iPod and you are ready to go. I wish it came included with a wall charger, as you have to have a computer around to charge it. You can buy a wall charger separately, but Apple should include it. The audio quality is pretty good, although clearly could be better if they wanted to. It does have the smaller click wheel than before, but it is VERY easy to adjust to in my opinion. I don't like the know glossy backside, as it smudges at the touch of it. This iPod has great battery life, as I can listen to music for a while without the battery running out. It seems to be a bit better than the previous generation in that regard, which is a definite plus. Also, the last generation seemed to freeze on me all the time, and this one has frozen only once in two months. And, when you do have a problem, the online help is good (although it still does not come with a manual). Overall, this is a very good mP3 player, and I would recommend it to those on a budget, but you may want to look into Creative Labs mp3s.

Strengths: I like the size, it is hardly bigger than a credit card. Music is easy to download. I like the menu options and how the music is categorized by however you want it to be.
Weaknesses: The scroll is hard to get used to - too hard to control. The back is shiny metal that will easily scratch. The earbuds easily fall out.
Summary: I am overall happy with this iPod. Haven't tried the video yet. I think for the money it is fine. Not happy that I had to buy a cover and armband for it. I think Apple could have thrown that in the package for free. They need to improve the earbuds, because they easily fall out. Also the scroll is way too sensitive. Maybe I am just not used to it yet, but it could also use improvement.

Strengths: Size, light, easy to use
Weaknesses: None
Summary: Got this for my wife, who is not to smart when it comes to the latest technology, but she can handle this one. This nano is small but can do anything my Gen 5 Ipod can do. Screen is small but is easy to see. It seem to handle being knock around a little more than the Gen 2 nano. Battery life seems very good.

Strengths: Price is very reasonable compared to features it offers, Video playback, small size, screen quality is superb, Extremely easy and user friendly user interface, Battery Life.
Weaknesses: No WMA format support (Expected from MS biggest competitor). No Bluetooth or voice recorder, which other competing brands are now offering on their MP3 Players. Must downloads songs through iTunes.
Summary: I had this Ipod for 3 days now. It is my first Ipod but I had many MP3 players before. What attracts me the most about this Ipod is the size. Extremely small and thin comapred to previous generations. I also like the metal finish, which feels and looks fancy and sturdy. Video Playback is also a new feature, and it's a big plus. The screen quality is extremely good. You must see it to believe it, it's almost like you have a little plasma TV in your palm. The flash memory design makes it less prone to hardware failure like hard drive based older generations. Battery life is also another plus, the device can give you an full 24 hours of continious audio playback. Of course when playing videos battery life will be significantly shorter. The disadvantages are: No WMA support, which can be a no dealer for those with a large WMA library. If you will be playing videos all the time, you might wanna consider getting the 8 GB nano, since the 4GB might not be enough. And of course the dependability on iTunes, you can hardly play any files that were not downloaded via Apple's iTunes. Also, Apple should added Bluetooth support, which seems to be on all MP3 players above $100 these days. On the overall, a very good buy considering the price tag, with tons of features that leave the competition in dust.

Strengths: nice quality attractive mp3 player, larger bright screen than previous nano, good battery life
Weaknesses: it requires itunes download for the music and even for pictures
Summary: This is the first mp3 player that I have purchased. When I saw these new ones, I thought it would be a good time to jump in the apple ipod bandwagon. I was initially frustrated when I first received it because I could not get music on it. I thought I could use windows media which i am accustomed to, but I had to download the apple itunes first before my computer would even recognize it. Even when putting pictures on it, you have to use itunes which i think is weird why you can't just transfer the files. Besides that, it works great and I have no problems with it. It has a bright screen and a long battery life and not to mention a very good looking device which i have had many compliments on, and I would definitely recommend it...just have patience if you are like me and are an apple neophyte and not familiar with itunes..there is a slight learning curve.

Strengths: Price, screen size, battery life.
Weaknesses: The hold switch is a two-handed affair, MP3's take a while to edit play lists, ear buds get uncomfortable.
Summary: After buying my kids iPods for years it was time for me to get one! The previous Nano screen was a tad too small for me and the new screen size is very crisp and easy to read. My kids are jealous of the new features I have that the previous generation Nano doesn't. The games are fun and addictive (iQuiz, Klondike, and Vortex). The battery has a long life and it is great that this Nano was priced the same as the previous generation. The only downsides I see are... the hold button on the bottom is a two-handed affair like the previous review stated and it does take some time to edit my mp3's play lists to get them to play in the correct order (hint: make sure you fill in the Disk # and the Track #'s in iTunes). The ear buds have a decent range to them but they get uncomfortable after a while and you need to angle them just right for the best sound. I use a pair of Koss SportaPro headphones instead and the clarity really comes alive. Otherwise, Apple has hit another home run with the 3rd generation Nano by constantly staying at the leading edge of this market.

Strengths: super thin, plays videos, good battery life
Weaknesses: included headphones are garbage
Summary: This is the first ipod that I purchased and I love it. The size is probably the best part of it. I got the 4gb version which gets the job done with roughly 1000 songs. I also like that it can play videos and it includes some addictive games. I did have some problems getting my music from WMP to itunes but in the end its definitely worth it. One thing that I don't like is that the hold switch is on the bottom now which makes it difficult to switch on with one hand. Other than that, I am very content with it.
