Strengths: Portable with 4.3" screen. Voice prompt is excellent on turns.

Weaknesses: Map may be outdated.

Summary: Just bought this product and have used it only on a local street. The experience was not as expected. I almost went a wrong direction. May be possible map update will be helpfull.

Strengths: Easy user interface, accurate point to point directions, 2D/3D and night mode awesome, clear voice commands

Weaknesses: Map is a bit outdated.

Summary: I have had my unit for about two weeks now and have been testing it out on all my local trips to make sure it works and does not send me in the wrong direction locally, so I know I can depend on it when I have no idea where I am going. It has been great and has guided me to every point without incident. The voice prompts are very clear. The night mode is excellent and the unit is very easy to see. The interface is extremely user friendly, my 9 year old insists on typing in all our addresses and she has already mastered it. The POI's are also very cool. It has found every restaurant or drug store I have searched for. The one complain I have is the outdated map and that is not really the units fault. If you call magellan within 30 days of receipt and jump through a few hoops (provide proof of purchase and pay $10 shipping) you get an updated map. Overall excellent unit so far..

Strengths: Good and informative data field information, shows current street you are on, built-in "traffic", slim design

Weaknesses: Odd route calculations, sub-par map graphics, slooow POI search

Summary: Well, I like to have more info on the screen so I choose this unit. The price was right aswell so it made for an easy desision. I am a driver of a long stretch SUV limo and need a good reliable system. My first day out with it and I was cursing myself for ever buying this unit. I used if first on a route that I take quite frequently and know the best way of getting to my destination just to see how well it will stack up again my real world driving experience. The answer: not even close. It took me completely out of the way, about 2 - 3 miles east of where I needed to turn. To my surprise, when I turned against it's will on the road that I know was required, it relatively quickly (5 - 7 seconds) recalculated and low and behold cut about 5 minutes out of the "arrival" time. My questions is, why would it lead me on a path that will take me 5 minutes longer when I specifically chose "fastest route" option when starting this route? Hmm, this happened about another 3 - 4 times during the day. The second problem, as I was driving on a highway, twice it all of a sudden is telling me to get of on an exit (note that there is no traffic reported) and then get right back on the same highway about a mile down the road, it would've been funny after a while if not for the fact that I drive a 40' long limo and do not need to get stuck on some small street for no reason. That is not all, twice after calculating a route and driving it's course the unit will all of a sudden throw up a blank screen with a massage "could not calculate your route based on requirements" WHAT??? It already calculated it and I was half way to destination!!! It those cases I had to input the address while traveling 60mph on the highway with one eye on the road and swerving between lanes. But wait that is not all. Once it completely lost it's satellite reception while I was standing and would not regain it for the next 10 miles on the highway. I turned the unit of, back on, nothing changed. I had to do a complete reset to get it going. All this happened in a span of about 6 hours. What do you think, would I recommend this unit to a friend? You decide.
