Strengths: functionality and easy to understand screens, simple to use
Weaknesses: isn't widescreen
Summary: We barrowed this when we were in Alaska and it was great. It got us to where we needed to go and the coordinate option was perfect for those small towns that don't exist on any maps. Great product and super easy to use.

Strengths: its accuracy is high
Weaknesses: sometimes it's slow to find satellite
Summary: This is likely the lowest price-to-value GPS. The only other brand that can be compared to this GPS is garmin, but you have to buy garmin at higher price. Its map is easy to update and finding an address is always accurate. Occasional it's slow to get satellite signals. It has a SD slot which allows you to do extra hacking stuff. So this feature is nice compared to Tomtom 3rd edition. I've been using it for 6 months and I like it very much.

Strengths: SD card slot, Bluetooth, easy of use, Fast recalculation of routes, MapShare, Not very expensive
Weaknesses: No text to speech, Mount not the best,
Summary: I have been using this GPS for quite sometime now. It is very easy to use and has rarely given me signal problems. Inside a building, their is poor reception, but outside, it works just fine. The graphics is good and it gives all the required information - speed, turns, time, estimated arrival time. It does not have text to speech which means that it does not call out name of the streets. But then it does tell you well in advance that a turn is coming and also tells you the distance. On highway, it tells two miles in advance that an exit is approaching, giving sufficient time to get into the correct lane. The route calculation is pretty fast and so far I have been able to take the next turn, in case I missed the first one due to my own fault or other reasons. The menus are not always intuitive and it does not have a lot of voices included. However, I am happy with the number of voices available. Some more can be downloaded for free from the website. Mapshare is another nice feature which allows other users to upload any traffic change information such as road construction, closure etc. It comes with not so many POIs but then a lot of them can be added.Overall its a good device for the price.

Strengths: Not sure since it never worked!
Weaknesses: Everything since it had no reception!
Summary: I bought this device for a friend for Christmas and she could not use it the whole time she had it. It never had any reception. Terrible in around all of Virginia.

Strengths: Holds a signal well in Southern CA, with rapid response. Bluetooth connectivity for traffic updates. Easy to use.
Weaknesses: Only turn by turn instructions. Missing many points of interest. Mediocre battery life.
Summary: This is my first GPS and I find it's the best one in its price range. The TomTom is very easy to use, the maps are preloaded on the unit. Some trouble that other reviewers had, I had as well, because I had an older version and when it automatically updated, it could no longer hold a signal. The remedy, I read online, was to delete the maps and redownload them, then redownload the update. While this part was annoying, afterwards the TomTom has proven to work very well. The unit is remarkably easy to use. It remembers your most recent selections to save time when you look for another address in the same city. I wish that the text were a bit bigger on where the next turn, given the fact it doesn't read street names. The unit's bluetooth system connects to your cellphone service to download up to date weather and traffic conditions. It has no functionality otherwise. Since I don't have this on my phone service, I do not know how well it works.

Strengths: 1. Best 3D navigation graphics2. Itinerary planning, MapShare, Map Correction, editable POIs, voice prompts, etc.3. Quick acquisition times4. Reliable windshield mount
Weaknesses: 1. No recacluating route announcements2. List of nearby POI's too short3. Inserting Via points directly on the map is difficult4. Bird's eye view with zoom-in/out is painfully hard to get to
Summary: I've researched many GPS systems over the last 4 months and finally settled on this TomTom ONE LE as my 2nd automotive GPS unit. I have compared TomTom against Garmin, Magellen, and Mio. I've put this TomTom One LE through about 5 hours or 150 miles of use already and I can report that I'm fairly satisfied. While this does have more features other TomTom models (it's a combination of ONE 1st, 2nd, 3rd editions) and other brands, this still is an entry level product at a very good price. First, key differntiator positives:1. As with all TomTom GPS units, this comes with BEST 3D navigation user interfaces in the market2. Key features: Useful Itinerary Planning, MapShare which allows you to modify the maps and share them with other users (only good upto 1st year of use after which I believe you need to pay TomTom), Map Correction, editable POIs, multiple voice prompts, Point-On-Map feature (if you don't know the destination street address)3. GPS signal acquisition: On average, it took less than 30 seconds in my experience to acquire signals. As you know, GPS signals are irrelevant to ground location since these satellites are in outer space. Question is how clear a line of sight do you have above/around and how many satellites your GPS unit can find quickly - Given clear line of sights, this unit could capture multiple satellites no problem.4. Price vs. features wise, this unit beat its coby far It took less than a minute to fully boot up, then it asked me to set my preferences. Quite simple to set up. These preferences can always be changed later or set later if you want to skip that part. 5. The windshield mount easily snaps onto the unit and sticks to the windshield very well, unlike other models. It's a bit of a pain to take the unit out if you "click" it in, so just snugly placing it on the mount will let you take it off and on easily w/o it getting stuck or rattling. Now, some negatives:1. Nearby POI's are only "shortlisted" based on where you are (like 5 mile radius). If you want to search farther out, then you'll have to know the town names to search "POI in City"2. As with all TomTom devices, voice navigation is not too intuitive. For example, it does not announce "recalcuating route" when you miss a turn. It simply recalculates the route w/o telling you and you just keep on driving. 3. Like all TomTom models, it's really a pain to insert Via points or to directly point-to-map the location. You have to navigate through multiple menu steps to add these. 4. The biggest negatives for me is that TomTom's don't allow bird's eye view with zoom-in/out features on the base screen view. You again need to navigate thru menu steps to get to "Browse Map" to be able to do this. Other brands (Garmin, Mio) let you zoom in / out freely on your base 2D view mode. But in summary, this TomTom ONE LE is a good basic GPS system to get you anywhere around the US. It'll work well if you have an address of where you need to get to; even if you have multiple stops for routing, you can use itinerary planning to pre-plan your trip. And the 3D navigation is by far the BEST out there and the LE has combined features of all previous generations at a reasonable price! So, I do recommend this model if you're willing to live with the minor negatives above.

Strengths: Easy to use. Compared to Garmin Nuvi 200 - this is cheaper and has more extra functions.
Weaknesses: does not read aloud names of streets but it has great turn voice commands.
Summary: I have no clue why the first two reviewers had problems with their tomtom one le. My tomtom one LE worked great out of the package. I love the different choices for voices and found out I may download more different voices online through Tomtom's website. I've been using my Tomtom all over central Florida - outside from it not recognizing new street from new developments, I had no problems with this product. My friends who borrow it are now looking to purchasing their own Tomtom One LE.

Strengths: Sleek design and user interface
Weaknesses: Will NOT hold a signal
Summary: Opened the box ..was amazed by the sleekness of the unit. Powered it up and took it out for a trial run ... calculated the route pretty fast but in a minute or so it lost the GPS signal ..hmmmm... I am one of the guys who does the manual :) The manual says - If no signal is picked up make sure there are no tall buildings or obstructions.. I was on a road that did not have a building as far as I could see... I had a bad feeling then.. I kept trying the unit for about 2 weeks since then.. hoping it would do better ..but zero luck .. it would hold the signal for about 15% of the time .. So eventually heart broken I returned the unit to Best Buy for a refund.. Nice looking unit but sadly does not function
