Strengths: 3D

Weaknesses: it takes me the long route

Summary: The product was ok, for some reason it always takes me the longest route. The 3D is good but I like the Garmin better. The sound system is terrible too low.

Strengths: Good screen size. Traffic update for free life of product. Lots to offer.

Weaknesses: No speed camera as advertised. Big fingers stay away, screen touch tough. Manual in CD ROM requires printing of 94 or so pages.

Summary: I bought this unit against all others because Price Grabber stated it has a speed camera radar. Thought vs. having various gadgets in car, this was my all in one choice. Not the case. Warns what the speed limit is in some cases, and you can probably set something to tell you that your are going over the speed, but that's it. Did a search in manual and not listed.Yes, as others say, the screen is tough to touch screen on. Suggest buy a pack of PDA Styluses and keep in glove box. Much easier to manipulate. No where can I locate that I can buy an AC adapter for it.Good screen color, I don't think the voice is too low. Perhaps is if you got radio blaring.

Strengths: Accurate routing, text to speech, beautiful design, bright screen

Weaknesses: Windshield mount could be better

Summary: Very pretty GPS, stand above every other one that I saw. Routing calculation is fast and accurate. Save me a few times with the text to speech function. My old Mio does not have text to speech and I missed a few turns due to that. The bright screen is very easy to look at even during day time with little glare.

Strengths: Very beautiful design and finished casing, text to speech

Weaknesses: OK 3D maps, a bit slow re-route compare to the 2 brands mentioned

Summary: What a beautiful looking unit. Most be the best looking GPS on the market. It does not have the best windshield mount. Long but not as adjustable. The start up time is reasonable but I found that slower than my Garmin while doing re-routing. The 3D view is cool but it needs to get some use to. A good solid unit for the price that I paid for.

Strengths: Lifetime traffic & Zagat restaurant reviews includedLong Lasting batteryReality view is a nice touchText to speech is great and should be on every GPS

Weaknesses: Traffic only works in certain large citiesZagat is a novelty

Summary: The 5100 is essentially the same as the Navigon 2100, but with the included content of the lifetime traffic and Zagat restaurant reviews. I have no use for the Zagat. The traffic service only works in large cities and I have not had a chance to use it. If you don't need Zagat and traffic, get the 2100. Also, you can purchase the traffic activation card for the 2100 separately. The routing is great and allows the user to choose between optimum, short and fast routes. POIs are sufficient.

Strengths: Design, Navigation, Mounting.

Weaknesses: None

Summary: This unit looks nice in your vehicle thanks to one of the best designed mounting brackets I've seen. It does a good job with navigation and I especially like the realistic views displayed of upcoming intersections.

Strengths: Text-to-speech, quick recalculation

Weaknesses: Sometimes picks odd routes

Summary: For a mid-range GPS, this is a great piece. Bright color touch screen, voice is easy to understand. Only so-so part is that it sometimes does not pick what I would consider to be the most efficient route, but there are downloadable profiles that claim to help that. Windshield mount is secure & easy to use. I would buy again.

Strengths: Sleek design, neat interface, zagat POIs, free TMC (traffic info), lane assistant & reality view is pretty cool

Weaknesses: no auto day/night mode, one voice option, text to speech is poor, convoluted and inaccurate routing, tiny screen

Summary: The Navigon 5100 GPS sounds great and looks great on the outside packaging. But in fact, it doesn't live or perform up its hype. The GPS feels clumsy and very basic. I would consider getting a Garmin, TomTom, or even a MIo over this.

Strengths: Text-to-Speech, Reality 3D-View, Free Lifetime Traffic, Lane Assist

Weaknesses: Slow User Interface, Small Text/Icons

Summary: The Navigon 5100 GPS has a multitude of features not found on other GPS systems that make it unique. The Reality 3D-View makes traveling complicated intersections easier. The free lifetime traffic is a great bonus if your local area is covered. Its implementation of text-to-speech is clear and works very well. The lane assist features helps prepare you for upcoming turns and lane changes. However, a couple issues that are problematic with the Navigon 5100 is its slow response rate and the smaller text/icons compared to other brands (Garmin/TomTom).Overall, the Navigon 5100 is still a very good GPS with plenty of unique features.

Strengths: Easy to use, and get started with. Lifetime traffic service at no charge. Millions of Points of Interest.

Weaknesses: None so far.

Summary: I love my Navigon 5100 GPS for the price and rebate I will receive. It has a included SD card for maps. Which is very nice, free traffic in most major cities. It was reliable and got us correct directions. I wish the screen was bigger though, All in all a Great GPS. Some people had reported that it took a long time for the GPS to find a signal. I personally had no problem with this. The screen was easy to view, and use. The mounting bracket included was a nice addition to my car.

Strengths: Sleek design, lifetime subscription to real traffic, Text-to-Speech (TTS)

Weaknesses: Low speaker volume, unfriendly user interface.

Summary: I bought this as a replacement to my MIO C310. During my first test run with it, the car mount detached itself from the windshield twice and the voice on the speaker can barely be heard until I turn the volume all the way up. The unit doesn't have the QWERTY keyboard layout when prompting the user to enter the address. Overall, I felt it takes me longer to input my destination using this unit as compare to MIO. However, I do like the TTS and the real-time traffic alert feature which already save me a lot of time by planning routes that bypass the sections of the freeway where traffic incidents occurred.

Strengths: Lifetime Traffic, 3D Reality View, Speed Limit alerts, Multiple Route Profiles, Excellent User Interface, Loaded with additional functions and POIs

Weaknesses: There are a few times when it lags, that may be due to the number of things it is trying to do at the same time.

Summary: I have had some experience with a Garmin unit, and actually tested both products side by side in the city. The only thing I would say that the Garmin had over the Navigon was that it allowed users to connect their phone to the device via bluetooth. Other than that the Navigon excelled in some many ways. First of all the Navigon is loaded with functions, this might overwhelm some, but of course remember that changing these are optional. The default settings are good enough, but it is great to have the choice and freedom to alter certain settings. Let me first start with the things I am not too happy about, or feel could be better. - Device periodically lags (doesn't happen often but would like it to be more responsive in those times) - There were a few times that the route had to be recalculated and it took too long - Takes a while to display the turn by turn list (only seems to happen when you have lengthy directions e.g. Across multiple states) These weaknesses really for me was not enough for me to be dissatisfied with the unit, especially with all of the positive attributes it had going for it. Here are some of the features I love: - Multiple Transport Settings (Car, Bicycle, Pedestrian) - Displaying the speed limit (quite accurate too) - 3D Reality View (HUGE PLUS) - Says the name of street in addition to distance from the turn - Multiple Route Settings (Fast, Optimum, Shortest, Scenic) - Night and Day views - Option to Allow, Avoid, or Forbid toll routes - Can allow or disallow UTURNS - Free Lifetime Traffic Information - Smooth user interface - Increase volume depending on how fast you are traveling - Points of Interests (POIs) - quite a bit and very accurate. - Accuracy - gives great directions. Something else I should mention - the Navigon comes with a windshield mount that at first I thought was extremely distasteful. I didn't know why it had to be so long. But after using it I realized that it allowed me to mount the device and have it come out closer to me, so it was easier to reach and see, and it gave me some more flexibility with where to mount it. Overall, I am more than satisfied and quite pleased with the device. I would highly recommend this as a GPS device to invest in - especially for those new to GPS and are not fixated on the interface functions of other GPS devices.

Strengths: Text to speech, lifetime traffic update

Weaknesses: a bit slow on the user interface

Summary: I bought this for my husband and he is loving it. He previously own a Tomtom one but that does not has text to speech cabability. Even though the user interface update is a bit slower but it is hardly noticeable. The lifetime traffic is a plus.
