Strengths: loud
Weaknesses: inaccurate, lost maps
Summary: I took this gps back, very disappointed. I do have the nuvi 680 and I thought this one would be just as accurate with roads, etc. but it wasn't.

Strengths: Ease of use. It truly is ready to go right out of the box. (It took me much longer to learn to use my cell phone.) Menu navigation, the touch screen and the step by step directions are all excellent.
Weaknesses: The need to purchase an AC adaptor for charging SEPARATELY (the garmin comes with a car charger only). Satellite location time after powering it on can take up to a few minutes.
Summary: I've had my Garmin Nuvi 200W for three months now, and I have yet to experience all of its amazing features. Once powered ON by sliding a bar at the top left of the device, the Garmin's brightly lit (and stylish) touch screen asks you, 'Where to?'. With just a tap of the finger, you'll access a menu through which you can type in a specific address or search through saved 'favorite' locations. If you're not quite sure where you're headed, you may choose to scroll through 'points of interest' which include nearby restaurants, gas and service stations, merchants, hotels, banks/atm's, hospitals, etc... Upon selecting your destination, you may choose to hear your turn-by-turn directions while viewing a map of the area with a great zoom in/zoom out feature --- or a written listing of the directions, step by step. (I absolutely love the spoken turn by turn directions. They are like magic!) A separate 'tools' menu features unit and currency converters, a photo viewer, a calculator, and a world clock. My Garmin Nuvi 200W came to me as the perfect surprise holiday gift. I never thought about purchasing one, but now that I have it, I can't imagine driving from point A to point B without it.

Strengths: not bulky - thin and sleak version. wide screen. easy to read. easy to get started
Weaknesses: it does take 10 seconds to acquire a signal. i wish it announced the street.
Summary: The Nuvi is sleak and thin unlike its bulky brother the TomTom ONE 3rd edition. The screen is easy to read and the graphics are fine. I like how you can choose your vehicle icon you see on the screen. The only downside is the street names are not read aloud. For another 50-75 bucks you can get that luxury OR you can leave some fun left in traveling. Further insights are in this review - Stop Shopping - Garmin Nuvi v. Strengths: Very easy to use. Impressed with directions. Screen is amazing!
Weaknesses: Accuracy of some points.
Summary: This is the first GPS that I have ever owned and I am proud of my purchase. I got the Nuvi mainly to help me on trips so I don't always have to look up directions and don't feel lost when I get wherever I'm going. The Nuvi is very easy to use with just a few clicks you can figure out what you're doing and use the Nuvi effeciently. I like how you can click the unit off while you're out of the vehicle eating to stopping at gas stations and then turn it back on and it still has your current directions up. It doesn't have a whole lot of fancy options, but it does have a few and for me it had the necessary ones. It helped me find some restaurants that were well off the interstate on my trip that did make the trip more enjoyable and allowed us to eat somewhere besides McDonalds. Some of the addresses were off by about 100-150 ft. which was frustrating sometimes, but I could always find what I was looking for just by looking around. I don't know if there is a fix to this or not, but I don't believe there is at this time. Also, the first 50 miles of my trip involved traveling on a highway that was built 4 years ago that I know well, but the Nuvi didn't have this highway with the latest maps I could download and so kept telling me to turn down backroads because it thought I was lost or offroad. I would still recommend this unit though because the faults I have listed I believe are a problem with all GPS units and this unit was very easy to use, easy to read, and very sleek and clean. The widescreen is nice and the mount works great! I like being able to take it out and carry it with me also. The battery lasts a long time! I would recommend this unit to someone needing a GPS to use on trips every now and then and doesn't want to spend $500-600 on a unit with a bunch of fancy options that most would never use anyways.

Strengths: Quick and clear
Weaknesses: Not found a weekness yet
Summary: Not sure why some here say the 200W is slow I found that if I miss an exit it takes about 2 seconds on mine to recalculate the satellite link up seems quick may be I just lucked out on a good unit. The menu is crisp and has all the features you could need.

Strengths: Excellent and friendly interface, touch panel, nice wide display, accurate maps, can display coordinates.
Weaknesses: No support for ZIP codes input, weak detour function, and satellite reception(Compared with typical Sirf III chipset devices.
Summary: In comparison with other competitor?s same price arrange models, 200W has good cost and performance value.Unfortunately, the weak feature is same as former model of nivi200. The satellite reception is weak. You have to wait for 7~8mins for first location and this model still can not recognize ZIP codes input.

Strengths: Good screen, easy to use, very straightforward navigation: a good value entry level GPS, especially for my mom
Weaknesses: voice doesn\\\\'t speak the names of the roads- just says (turn right, takes AGES to acquire satellites (10 minutes plus- and I am in a major city!), can\\\\'t see the next direction and route recalc is bad
Summary: Overall, this is a great product for your older parents who are a little afraid of getting lost. It\\\\'s an entry level GPS- spend a little more if you\\\\'ve used one before because this one will disappoint. The \\\\'acquiring satellite\\\\' issue is a real pain.

Strengths: Easy to use. Widescreen. SiRF chipset. Lots of Points-of-Interest (POI's).
Weaknesses: No bells and whistles (TTS, Bluetooth, MP3, FM Traffic) like the 3xx, 6xx, and 7xx series nuvi's.
Summary: This is a great, easy to use basic navigation system. Upgrading from the Garmin Streetpilot i2 to this model gave me a much larger screen with a color, touch-sensitive display panel and an internal rechargeable battery. Satellite lock is much faster than with the i2 as well. Highly recommended!

Strengths: Came pre-charged. Found Satellite easily.
Weaknesses: Menus a little confusing at first. Does not come with AC wall charger.
Summary: The unit worked fine right out of the box and we were easily able to locate a satellite and plot a course to our first destination. Menus were not 100% intuitive at first but I believe we'll get used to it quickly. The touch screen is very responsive and easy to read at different angles. Time will tell how this serves us...but first impression is good.

Strengths: simple interface easy to use on the road
Weaknesses: sometimes it takes you to the wrong side of the road
Summary: I've had this gps for a few days. I have had a lot of fun with it. It gives you good directions and once in a while, you would find yourself about going to drive on the wrong side of the road. I was going to a mall, and the mall was on my right and it kept telling me to turn left. First of all, it was on the highway, I couldn't cross the road divider to cross and it was annoyingly saying "turn left, turn left" like we didn't know what turn left means. And the POIs need to be updated. Some things aren't there...Anyway, this is my first GPS device, it does a moderately good job; it provides security when you are in an area that you aren't familiar with. You won't worry about getting lost.

Strengths: BEAUTIFUL 4.3" widescreen display with good brightness and contrast. Easy to use interface. Comes with vehicle mounting equipment.
Weaknesses: Has trouble attaining satellite reception upon boot up.
Summary: I had originally planned on purchasing the Nuvi 200 until I read about the 200w. The widescreen display is much nicer than the normal 3" display I had been accustomed to. Not only are the buttons on the screen larger and easier to select, the map is also bigger which allows you to see side-streets easier without having to zoom out. I have always liked Garmin's product, it has a high level of polish and does what it is supposed to do. I have seen the occasional oddity in the paths it chooses to take. Often they are not wrong, but just a possible more annoying route to drive rather than a simpler, but longer, freeway drive. The thickness of this product is also a nice change. I came from the streetpilot series which had a 3-4 inch depth. This made it difficult to deal with when I took it on the airplane with me to avoid having the screen get damaged. The width is cumbersome especially when carrying tickets and carry on luggage. Not anymore with this nuvi. The product is even thinner than I imagined it would be, very sleek indeed. This will fit in most guy's pockets and girls will have no problem putting this in a small purse. Other manufacturer's such as TomTom had unit's with a battery life of only about 2 hours in this price range. That seemed unacceptable to me as most of the time I will be using this will be on long car trips. This unit, rated at 5 hours has pretty respectable battery life. This could likely be extended by turning down the brightness on the display, a trick I used to use with the streetpilot models. I was pleased to see this model also comes with a car charger. This, to me, is much more important than a wall adapter. Generally, when you absolutely need to charge the product is when your using it. Once you get to a destination you can either leave it in your vehicle so it charges the next time you drive or connect it to a USB port on a computer to charge. If need be, a wall adapter can always be purchased. There have been times using the previous streetpilot where I have been nearing a trickier portion of a drive only to have the unit tell me the battery is running low. Without the car charger, I had to hope I made it to my destination before the batteries died. I am glad I won't have to worry about that anymore.

Strengths: Neat design; vibrant 4.3" screen; inexpensive
Weaknesses: Many weaknesses -- can take 5-10 minutes(!)to lock onto satellites; gets easily confused in cities; maps not as complete as other GPS; battery life is very short
Summary: I have 3 GPS units (a built-in, a Garmin streetpilot c550 and the nuvi200w). I bought the 200w since I like the c550 so much. However, the nuvi far inferior. I don't care that there is no bluetooth or mp3 player. However, I do care very much that: (1) it takes seemingly forever to lock onto satellites; (2) that the battery life is measured in times of about 2 hours; (3) that long-existing street names/numbers are not in the database; and (4) that in cities, it simply doesn't know where it's going. Two days ago, in Boston (no snow, rain to interfere), it would announce "right turn then right turn" and then before the turn would come up it would announce "left turn then left turn" and kept going on that way. Fortunately I knew roughly where I was going so I just turned the thing off!
