Strengths: Nice screen (especially at night) and easy-to-use.
Weaknesses: Don't know of any at this point.
Summary: This is my first GPS so I put it to a challenge by driving from PA to NJ. It handled driving on the highways, toll roads and bridges without a problem. I only got lost one time and that was my fault because I did not put in the complete and correct address. I like the feature that if you make a wrong turn it gets you back to where you are supposed to be. On the same trip, I drove at night and could see the route on the 3210 without any problems. Would definitely buy this product again (especially for the same price)!!

Strengths: 1. 6 million Points of Interest (to be updated in 3Q 2008)2. Automatically re-routes3. Bright and clear screen
Weaknesses: 1. No text to speech (not sure if this is a weakness)2. Sometimes routes differently than I would go (so I use my own path for the parts I know and let it automatically re-route through the rest)
Summary: 1. I didn't realize how important having MANY Points of interest (POI) would be. It has turned out to be one of the most important features. Most locations I want to go to (stores, schools, parks, etc.) are already programmed into the unit. I go the POI menu, type in the first few letters of my desired destination, and out pops where I want to go (e.g., REI store in an unfamiliar part of town). Touch the pad and the route is automatically calculated. This is far more convenient than having to look up the address and type it in each time.2. Automatic re-routing is very important and works well. Whenever I vary from the planned route (e.g., I know a better way through a particular part of a neighborhood), the unit provides a new route from my current location without me having to touch the unit.3. It does not contain the USB cable required to get updates. (The next scheduled update has been postponed to third quarter 2008.) Unless you carefully search on the internet, you could pay a lot of money for this cable. All you need is a USB "A to mini-B" cable. I found that I already had this cable that came with an old MP3 player.4. You can charge the unit by connecting it to a PC via the USB cable. I could not find any documentation for this feature, and some online reviews criticized Magellan for not having this feature. I did connect my Magellan 3210 to my PC when the GPS unit power was so low that it automatically turned itself off. After six hours, the unit had charged to about 60% (3 out of the 5 power level indicators). Charging is slow, but it is very convenient to charge it inside rather than having to rely exclusively on charging it via the car cigarette lighter.5. I like that the unit picks up GPS position even inside the house. I am able to check out routes inside before going to the car. For longer trips, I can compare the route created by the Magellan 3210 with routes I find online or using my PC mapping software. 6. I didn't want to stick it to the windshield (awkward) or affix it to the dashboard (leave a mark), so I purchased a Bracketron UFM-100BL Nav-Mat GPS Friction Dash Pad. The Bracketron provides a great base for the Magellan 3210. Check it out.
