Strengths: LARGER SCREEN,SWLIM DESIGN,STYLISH,

Weaknesses: ACCURCY IS OFF BY 10 METERS,LACK OF ABILITY TO CONTROL CONTRAST AND COLOR. VOLUME IS TOO LOW TO OVERCOME ROAD NOISE.LACK OF MP3 AND JPEG FOLDERS.

Summary: I HAD UPGRADD FRON A MAGELLAN 760 MODEL AND FOUND THAT MY 3 YEAR OLD MODEL HAS A FASTER ACQUIRE TIME AND IS MORE ACCURATE SHOWING MY CARS POSITION AT AN INTERSECTION. I ALSO HAVE A MODEL 2200 FOR MY MOTORCYCLE WHICH DESPITE HAVING A SMALLER SCREEN HAS MORE OPTION THAN THIS MODEL. MAGELLAN HAS DISAPPOINTED ME THIS PURSCASE.

Strengths: Slim, nice features, Bluetooth.

Weaknesses: Poor reliability, voice features don?t work all that great, there are probably more drawbacks but it didn?t work long enough to discover them.

Summary: Ever wonder why there are so many refurbished Magellan products available? Apparently it is because they fail by the hundreds, or perhaps thousands. This is my third Magellan GPS and it is the third one to exhibit problems. The first model (700) had display problems, the (800) had the hard drive fail and this one failed within a few weeks unable to complete startup. Magellan say it?s a common problem. Magellan should change their slogans from ?turn it on and go? to ?turn it on and wait?, and ?never lost? to ?never works?.

Strengths: Display and clear voice prompts

Weaknesses: Poor quality directions

Summary: While this unit is good if you get lost, when I tried to map certain routes that I was familiar with, I found the directions poor, i.e., it advised me to take a considerably longer route than I would have chosen myself. I therefore find myself using this only when I don't otherwise know the way (and try to get directions off mapquest before I set out, to minimize those occasions when I am reliant on the GPS.) As an example of the frustrating directions, one time, the GPS thought I was on the lower deck of the George Washington Bridge, rather than the upper deck. It should have known because the approach I took, from the Palisades parkway, leads to only the upper level. The turns off the bridge, whether to right or left are the opposite for the two levels of the bridge, so if I had not known how to get off the bridge to the next road, I would have taken a completely wrong turn.

Strengths: a lot of fertures, fast search and good size.

Weaknesses: power switch, low voice volume and sometime screen freez

Summary: I don't want to talk about good points about this unit becuase a lot of people already did. I just want to point out some problem for this unit since nobody mentioned yet. 1. power switch. it doesn't look solid. sometime you just could not turn on. I could not figure out why. I have 5 years GPS experience, this is the first time I have problem to turn on the unit. I spoke to tech, support, they had no comment. 2. sometime after you turn on unit, screen freeze. when this happened, nothing you can do except press and hold power button for 10-15" to turn off unit. then restart again. this is very annoying. magellan tech.support had no comment on this eighter. 3. speaking volume is too low, especially when you are driving on freeway, you barely can hear instruction although put max. volume. Hopefully someday magellan will fix these problem.

Strengths: Bluetooth feature (very easy to pair with my Nokia N95 phone), Large screen, lots of POI,

Weaknesses: Screen freeze from time to time, repeat streets names too many times,

Summary: The text to speech feature is nice but it keeps repeats the upcoming street name for several times (gets too annoying). The 3D maps does a great job and is fast at calculating the route. Hopfully my wife won't get lost with this gadget. Voice recognition doesn't work all the time.

Strengths: None

Weaknesses: The VR. The map. The system freezing up. No choice in map colors. and the list goes on

Summary: Save your $$$ and get the cheapest unite in the market. i use these unites in my limos and we have to use them all the time so this is comming to you from someone who has been buying portable GPS unites for past five years.

Strengths: Turn-by-turn voice directions, voice recognition for certain destinations, bright and clear display. AAA tour book information (BIG plus).

Weaknesses: Voice recognition is only for certain destinations (gas stations, coffee shops, restaurants). Customer service still isn't up to par.

Summary: This is a great GPS device if you're looking to upgrade from an older model or buying one for the first time. I upgraded from an old Tom Tom model I had, and so far it has been great. It gives turn-by-turn voice directions (e.g. it says "Turn right in 0.5 miles onto Hopkins Road") for all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Canada (NOTE: this model does NOT give directions for driving in Mexico, despite some of the ads that say it gives directions for North America). The AAA tour book information is one of the main reasons I also bought this model (no need to carry around that heavy AAA tour book). Gives basic info (e.g. mini-review, hours of operation and payments accepted) for attractions, restaurants and many other facilities that are found in the AAA tour book. Provides additional benefits (like map updates every quarter) if you're already a AAA member (or planning to join). The voice recognition is interesting to use and makes it easy to use while on the go (e.g. if you need to go home, you can just say "Magellan, go home" and it will re-program a route to take you to the "Home" destination you have programmed in). Also, sometimes you need to talk a little loud for it to recognize your voice commands (some people with very thick accents may find it a little difficult for it to recognize your voice, but should after a few tries). I wish they had more downloadable content for the GPS on their website, and customer service isn't that great. A great device that isn't as expensive as a Garmin with great features (especially the AAA tour book information). They just need to improve the stuff available on the website.

Strengths: Great looks, lots of POIs to find the nearest stores open very recently in the nearby areas, easy to operate with very user friendly menu, LCD screen given better visibility during night time

Weaknesses: voice recognition doesnt work for all accents though it works fine with american accent. Cradle is kinda bulky

Summary: This is a very handy GPS with very easy navigation. It speaks the street name as well that helps while driving in the downtown. The voice recognition features helps me to provide command to the GPS without even touching it hence providing more security while driving. The LCD display gives a nice feeling and works great at night. I added extra POIs through Extra SD card slot and it works great.

Strengths: large screen

Weaknesses: Reliability Customer Service

Summary: I purchased this unit and in March the screen stopped functioning. Magellan expects me to pay to ship it back for 1 month to repair! I would not recommend this unit or Magellan to anyone. The customer service is horrible and for the price of the unit is unacceptable.

Strengths: Does just what was advertised. I have had no problems with it.speaker is nice and loud and easy to understand.

Weaknesses: Can not give voice prompt to enter a destination address. no big problem but would be nice.

Summary: I took this on trial runs since I have had it. I have not had any of the problems. The unit does a great job and is fast at calculating the route. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

Strengths: Voice quality, ease of use, paired with my Samsung phone and made a call easily, voice recognition went smoothly when giving commands, setup was done in a few minutes and I could go on and on. Love it

Weaknesses: haven't found any so far, but haven't used all features yet.

Summary: I took this on a trial run to a city 80 miles away. I really liked being warned about the next turn twice before actually turning and then it bonged. It was clearly spoken and accurate. It did have some outdated shopping information. It was legible even in the sun. I pass a turn it had routed for me to go another way, and it re-routed me so that I could go the way I wanted. I don't believe I could possibly get lost in any unknown environment with this little beauty.

Summary: I recently purchased both the Magellan Maestro 4250 and the Magellan Maestro 3200. I put them in two different business vehicles that are used on a daily basis. So far they have magaged to help expediate the routing from one site to the next, saving valuable time.
