Strengths: Easy to use. Very small and portable.
Weaknesses: still trying to find them
Summary: Can't believe it took me so long to get one of these. It's really an outstanding product. The maps are really accurate and I wish had thought to get one sooner. Great must have gadget.

Strengths: Great directions, really easy to use...small enough to move around
Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: Really easy to use and very accurate. I've had no problems with it so far and would recommend to all. Even cut time off my commute in the evenings. I'm really glad I decided to try this.

Strengths: Quick recalculation
Weaknesses: Lousy windshield mount (blocks view), no where near loud enough, Windows CE crashes (requires reboot), none-intuitive,poor manual.
Summary: I've had four PNDs so far: Garmin i3, TomTom ONE New Edition, Garmin Nuvi 350 and this Mio C220. The Mio is by far the most none-intuitive of them all. The volume is laughable, I drive a Toyota Camry, a very quiet car, and I have to have all windows rolled-up so that I can hear it (no, there's nothing wrong with my hearing). With my TomTom, I could be driving on the highway and have all four windows rolled-down and still hear it OK. Also, the mounts on the Garmins and TomToms sit directly behind the unit, so the only thing blocking your view is the GPS, with the Mio you have the GPS plus the windshield mount blocking your view. Poor design. There are better buys out there.

Strengths: Very fast recalculation of routes, clear screen, Portable, easy to use, easy to add POIs
Weaknesses: Quirks on routes and quirks on instructions, POIs may have wrong address
Summary: I have used the GPS to drive around my house and within 40 miles of my neighborhood. When I first started it up, it took awhile to find the signal. Afterwards, it usually takes about 1/2 minute before it finds the signal. I've tested by finding the shopping malls, stores, restaurants, and parks near me. One of the POI I tried to find was BJ's. The BJ it found in the POI had the wrong address. It was 400 yds off. However, other POI's I used were dead on target. It has the ability to quickly recalculate the route if I deviate from the planned path. This is great because sometimes it offers paths that have no purpose and makes the trip longer. I guess this is the benefit of knowing my neighborhood and understanding the shortcuts better than the system. There were no issues in following the GPS's directions to get to my destinations. Nevertheless, as a local, I could sometimes have arrived my destination faster without following the directions. Overall, I found the system to be very helpful for areas that I'm not familiar with (which is the main purpose for this system for me). It is easy to use and worth the price.

Strengths: low cost, good quality, great performance
Weaknesses: low volume, esp. when you turn a/c a little bit higher
Summary: it is a good product at such a low price. I just used this product for two weeks and it performs very well. But it gave me confused direction when I reached home since it tells me to turn LEFT to get home, but actually I should turn right. Do not know why.But everything works fine so far.

Strengths: Low cost portable GPS, good mounting accessories supplied in the package
Weaknesses: Inaccurate direction and slow response sometimes
Summary: The Mio C220 is bargain/entry level protable GPS, it gets the work done at low cost. I paid about $170 for it from CircuitCity. Most of the time, it works just fine by giving me turn by turn directions. I had some problem with locating a few spot so far, but most of the locations that I wanted to go were correctly directed. Also, sometimes when you enter the address of interest, I have to get moving before the GPS can start responding with driving directions, kind of weird but I can tolerate.

Strengths: fast recalculation, easiest menus, great graphics, good on screen option while navigating
Weaknesses: none yet
Summary: I have been using the Mio 220 for the last 20 days and I am very very happy with the performance. My constraint was to get a good GPS (only), costing less than $200. I got Magellan 3100 for $215 in an offer and returned it the very next day before 24 hrs. Many features for which I highly recommend Mio in this price range:1. Very small and handy - I can carry it in my jeans2. Fast recalculation - within 10 ft of missing a turn3. All menu options in the same screen, so you don't have to scroll screens to check what options are available at a particular point in time4. Easiest way to add a VIA point. Not available in Magellan 3100. Just tap the right lower corner and you get a whole set of useful options. You have to add a trip to do the same. Just imagine how easy it would be when you are driving along on a route and spot a Starbucks (POT), you just need to tap on it and select "Add Via" and Mio will take you there5. You can just go around in the screen and tap and add it to route or as a via point in your route6. Provides exact address when you tap on the screen, and you can route to the address. Eg: Tapping at a point in Mio would show you the address as "134 Carolina Avenue" and you can route to that point, but in Magellan or even in TomTom GO(costing $299) it will take you to the center of the street.7. It locates my home address perfectly, Magellan took me some 0.3 miles away8. The menu interfaces are very beautiful and soothingWith the very low price you pay I think its the best deal. Other GPS manufacturers should learn to design user interface from Mio.

Strengths: Seems to pick up good satellite signals locally
Weaknesses: Would be nice if it had the ability to read text ie read out street names
Summary: I bought this for a birthday present for my wife. Although I had an incredibly good experience with a GPS in a rental car years ago, I personally think the things are overpriced for ordinary day to day usage. But I can read maps and folow directions; my wife can't and has been wanting one. This unit seems to do the basic job pretty well, and the wife seems at least somewhat happy with it. My assessment would be that the extra features and functionality you get with $4-500 units, while nice, are very costly. With this guy, you get 80% of the functionality at way less than 80% of the price, particularly on sale.

Strengths: Small and light weight for easy carry. Great price to performance ratio
Weaknesses: Sometimes it does not give the most logical route
Summary: Bought it on a special. So far it performs very well given the cost. There is no extra bell and whistle like MP3 or Bluetooth, but it does what a GPS suppose to do. Getting you from A to B. Screen is bright enough with automatic day and night modes. I find the volume is adequate which is the most common complain from other users. Negatives include no in home charger and sometimes it does not give the most logical route. All in all, quite satisfy with the unit.

Weaknesses: Power on takes a lot of time,Poor satellite reception,Poor Visibility, Poor Audibility.
Summary: Everything. Power on button takes about 40 seconds,Detects satellite signal and immediately says that the signal is lost ( mind you on a clear road no blocks). I changed 3 pieces and all are found to be bad . The audibility is very bad even upon tuning the audio setting to the max speed. I used a Mio C310X that was far better than this one. This one doesn't has the buttons for volume increasing decreasing like in C310 X.

Strengths: Very portable,New Maps (October 2006),Fast,Well-Featured for price
Weaknesses: No frills (mp3, video, etc),No wall charger,Sometimes picks strange routes,Not the most intuitive interface
Summary: I haven't had this GPS for very many days, but I've done a lot of playing with it since it arrived and I think it's a great device. It picks up signals quickly and holds on to them. It was able to read satellites in the bottom floor of my work's 5 floor garage! The touchscreen works really well and it appears to be pressure-sensitive. If you want to map a point, you tap lightly on the screen. If you want to move the whole map, you press more firmly and drag your finger and the whole map moves. It's got some really cool features like auto-dimming and auto-night colors just before sunset and the reverse just before morning. It even shows you the sun in 3D mode in its correct position when the sun is setting - how cool is that? And the energy-saving feature dims the screen when it's not in use and auto-brightens when approaching a turn or the destination (or when you touch the screen).I can't believe how small it is! 3.5" is a pretty typical size screen, so that's not unusual, but it is so small and lightweight. It will be incredibly easy to bring this along on trips that involve flying, which is very handy. The battery is supposed to last 4 or 5 hours, which is good. I just wish it came with a wall charger instead of requiring you to plug it in to a cigarette adapter.More expensive units include lots of other frills that I have no use for in a GPS device - things like mp3 players, bluetooth, video players, etc. This is just made for navigation - getting you from point a to point b. If that's what you are looking for, then you can't beat this product for the price! My only concern is that it sometimes chooses odd directions in getting you from point a to point b. However, there are 3 different settings for route calculation: fastest, shortest and most economical. I haven't played too much with each type to see the differences on a given route. Some people have complained that auto-rerouting doesn't work very well. That instead of finding a new road to take you on, it tries to get you back to the original road. I haven't seen this to be the case unless the road I'm on just doesn't get me where I'm going. I guess this part is a little bit hit or miss, but that's a pretty subjective area. Some people might want to be taken back to the original route. There are a lot of other little, cool things it will do, but suffice-it-to-say I think this is WELL worth the sub-$200 that you would pay to obtain it. Why spend the extra money getting a better-known brand when you can get this. One thing to note - it's interface is a little bit intimidating - especially at first. I've heard others say that Garmin and TomTom's interfaces are much more intuitive, and I think that's probably true. This one isn't bad, but it does take some getting used to. Once you've played with it for several days, it becomes almost second-nature, but that may be learning time that some are unwilling to invest.

Summary: I bought this for a couple weeks. I just figured out how to set the Point of Interest and some other function, the manual is pdf file, it is not user-friendly, hope they will have some flash instruction. The good feature of this product is it can recalculate the route very fast in the situation that you drove a wrong way.
