Strengths: Storage space, customization options,

Weaknesses: Reception quality, battery life, radio needs special headset

Summary: Overall, this phone was just what I wanted and needed. the price will range dramatically depending on where you purchase it from and what color you want. I made certain to buy the US version (I bought it directly from Nokia at their flagship store, in NYC). Memory: It comes with 32 MB built in, you should buy a 2 GB Micro SD card. You can swap out cards without shutting the phone or interfering with its operation (great for choosing from multiple choices of media). Reception: Calls are being dropped, but I had the same problem on my old phone (Sony Ericsson's T226), so it could simply be my service (AT&T/Cingular). Also, call quality is not the greatest sometimes I hear perfectly, whereas the person on the other end complains that I can't be heard and am breaking up. Video/Camera: The phone comes with many choices of quality and pixel size for the shots that you can take. Response time on the highest quality for photos seems to have a slight lag, but I have had no prior experience with camera phones, so I am not sure how fast and well they should work. Customization/software, etc.: You can access the internal memory of the phone using a standard USB cable, attached to a PC. Since Nokia offers lots of software choices and platforms for free, you can change internal ringtones, etc. at your whim. However, it would be advisable to stick with whichever version of phone software that it came with because many problems will arise along with any improvements to call quality, etc. Battery life: Overall, if just using the phone as a media player or for calls, the battery will last at least 3.5-4.5 Hours. However, if you use both, your battery will most likely only last closer to 3 hours. If you turn bluetooth on while using the media player (play or send via bluetooth), it may die much sooner. You can charge it via a Chines travel battery pack, the AC outlet plug that comes with it, or any 2.5 MM car charger (I got one for $5 from a street vendor). Headsets: Practically any 2.5 MM jack headset will work (all $1-10 Chinese ones that I tried worked). However, to access the radio you need a special one from Nokia. For Bluetooth none of the Motorolas that I tried worked (from the H series- 300, 360, 700). You will need to look around carefully and try someone else to be sure that it is compatible before purchasing.

Strengths: Nice design, 2 MP camera, bluetooth, phone feels very sturdy and well-built.

Weaknesses: None that I can think of.

Summary: This phone is thin and light. The screen is large and it is fully packed with features. The speaker is nice and loud. The camera works great. I highly recommend this phone.

Strengths: Simple, stylish, easy to use

Weaknesses: had hard time setting up to access internet

Summary: Got it from Amazon, good build quality and light weight. Battery life is decent. For ringtone it only take .mp3 and probabily .acc, so not downward compatible with those old school ringtones. Since buy from Amazon as a replacement for my old cingular Nokia 6030, now at&t doesn't wanna help for setting up internet access, so I can't download ringtone and stuff from their website which is pretty frustrating. Otherwise it's a great phone

Strengths: Thin. Bright and beautiful LCD, speedy S40 interface, expandable memory, camera, radio, voice recorder, calendar, handsfree speakerphone.

Weaknesses: S40 limited to 1 application at 1 time. Battery life decent but not great.

Summary: The Nokia 6300 targets the same kind of people that would carry the Nokia 6100. All they want is a good looking, no frills reliable phone. The Nokia 6300 is all that and more. It is a S40 interface phone, which means that you will be limited to one application at one time. For example, you cannot play music from the music player at the same time as playing a Java game, unlike the S60 phones. However, in return, you can quick response and more stability. In my 3 months with it, it has yet to hang on me!! This kind of stability is impossible with the S60 phones. The music player plays mp3 and wma, but not OGG files. You can increase the memory by inserting a microSD card into the phone. I have been using a 2GB microSD card with my 6300 without any problems. You can transfer video/music files conveniently using the Bluetooth interface, but it's not the fastest. The 2 megapixels camera is typical of a phone camera - not great, especially in low light, but convenient when you really need a camera. You can also use the camera for video recording, but is time limited. The buttons are not as nice to press as they are all together unlike the isolated buttons in the 6100. There are also a spread of other features such as radio, voice recorder, calendar, calculator which can be useful. Most important, the LCD is bright and sharp. Really beautiful. Call quality is good, nothing special. Handsfree speaker phone is convenient. The Nokia 6300 uses the same battery as the Nokia 6100. This might be the reason why battery life is only about 3/4 days under light use and only a day with normal use (talking for aoubt 30 mins, and playing mp3s in between for an hour). All in all, the Nokia 6300 is a great buy and a worthy descendant of the 6100.
