Strengths: WIRELESS 802.1b/g, SMALL FOOTPRINT, nice print quality, Fantastic all around unit with Automatic Document Feeder

Weaknesses: Curls paper sheets and Envelopes

Summary: Retired My HP LaserJet 1220 All in one Laser after 4 years of use. No problem. THE BROTHER MFC-7840W ALL IN ONE PRINTER appears to be a good replacement. Wireless connection is a must is you are using a laptop around your home to access the internet or need to print out something. The Software Provided was easy to use. Setup of this Printer took about 3 hours to configure for Two Desktops and a Laptop. So far so good...waited for sale on this unit, Snagged it a Best Buy for $225.00 with a Price match from Costco even after they drop it from $308 to $339.00.

Summary: Unlike the other reviewer below, I have actually used this item to some degree. This item replaces my Samsung SCX-4725 Multifunction. My Samsung worked fine, but after using it for a year it started making a thin dark line down the page many times when making copies (is that a problem with the drum?). Anyway, I love the size of this printer, smaller than my former Samsung, but not too small. We bought it mainly to use as a copy machine. It makes great copies and prints great from the computer. I tried to set it up wirelessly, but couldn't do it yet, but only because I am not tech savvy in that area, not because of any problem with this machine. I have not used the fax yet. Replacement toner is reasonably priced if you shop around (I buy the high yield Brother TN360 toner for this item). Wish it had duplexing like the Canon Imageclass MF4150; would like to try that machine also to compare size and quality of all functions. I bought this Brother printer for around $225 (shipped) after coupon it was on sale, at a store that only sells online. It runs around $275 to $300 (+tax and/or shipping) normally as of 05/2008.
