Strengths: High resolution, good picture quality

Weaknesses: None

Summary: This printer produceS excellent prints from any decent digital file. I have had good results in 4x6, 5x7, and 8x10 prints. Very vibrant color, good blacks, excellent contrast. I like the fact that you can feed paper from the top and from a side-mounted cassette. Makes it easy to use two different types/sizes of paper without having to change one. One proviso here: I only print photos on the Canon. The resolution and quality is amazing, best what I ever saw

Strengths: Great output, flexible paper handling, great price

Weaknesses: USB Cable not included

Summary: I purchased this printer to replace a Dell AIO 968 (which never printed photos well, even with a photo cartridge). My mother is not very technically inclined, but knows some basics. I was looking for a printer that she could use without a problem (3 simple buttons!!!) and would give great photo production (she loves to print lots of pictures of her grandkids). Photo output is just beautiful. Compared to the Dell (which isn't all that old!!!), this is is amazing. There is no banding, colors are beautiful, and the entire printer is very nice. Additionally, with the option of the paper cassette and rear paper tray, Mom doesn't have to remove all the paper to print a picture. Best of all - it's just a great printer -- no extras because they just aren't needed here. Highly recommended!!!

Strengths: Quality letters and outstanding photos. Easy and automatic setup.

Weaknesses: Takes a while for setup cycle to run. Large on your desk.

Summary: The completely automated alignment cycle is great. You do not have to do a thing but wait, and wait and wait, 13 minutes. After that is done, relax and enjoy the high quality of the letters and photos you will get. I had the i950 just before this and I think these photos are better. Enjoy it!

Strengths: Quick and Easy Setup. Stylish Design. Fast Printing.

Weaknesses: A bit bulky.

Summary: I bought this printer when my Canon S750 printer broke down after 6 years. The setup was very quick and easy, as I was able to follow the instructions and have everything setup in about 30 minutes. After printing a few pages, I can say that it is definitely an upgrade over my previous printer in terms of speed as well as quality. The printer looks great on my desk, with the shiny black color matching well with my other computer equipments. My only small complaint is that the printer is somewhat bigger than I expected. It is definitely not a small printer. If you're planning to put this on the desk, make sure to leave plenty of room for it.

Strengths: Brilliant color prints and excellent text printing speed

Weaknesses: Bulky size. Kind of noisy.

Summary: What this printer lacks in terms of style and looks, it definitely makes up in quality. The photo prints are amazing. The separate ink tanks make colors really sharp. Text printing is super fast. The unit does take up alot of desk space and it is on the noisy side during printing. But the quality at this price point cannot be match. Highly recommended.

Strengths: Good quality printer for the money. Print high quality photos, good speed, separate ink cartridges and easy to install

Weaknesses: None noted

Summary: I purchased this printer to replace a Canon PIXMA IP3000 which developed a print head problem. Like the IP3000 the IP4500 has separate ink cartridges so you are only replacing the color that runs out and not the total multi-color cartridge. To repair the IP3000 it was going to cost me $55 to replace the print head. Instead I decided to purchase the IP4500 from Newegg.com for $89.99. For the additional $35, over the cost of a new print head, I now have a higher quality, faster, newer printer with new ink cartridges to boot. I will still keep the IP3000 for non-color printing. The speed of shipping and delivery was exceptional. It was shipped the same day I ordered it and arrived 2 days later via FREE UPS shipping

Strengths: Excellent photo quality prints, fast and nice looking.

Weaknesses: Chipped cartridges

Summary: I had to replace my previous IP4000 printer which was a great printer. This one I like even more (except for the chipped cartridges). It prints excellent photo quality prints. I think it printed a 4x6 photo in less than 30 seconds. The cartridges that come with this printer have chips on them to prevent you from refilling or using any old generic cartridge. I haven't done it yet, but plan on either just refilling them will my own ink and ignoring the out of ink message, or moving the chips to some generic ink cartridges by using a glue gun or something to stick them on. I can't afford brand new name brand Canon ink.You can also buy cd trays to print on your cd's, off of ebay. They sell the exact same printer in Europe that comes with the tray enabled. They disable it for America for whatever reason. It took me a while to figure out how to open the front printer cover. There is a button you push and it slowly opens.

Strengths: Fast, Professional looking photo printing, separate ink cartridges.

Weaknesses: Cartridges have microchip, so to use generic cartridges you must remove the chip and install on new cartridge, OEM cartridges are expensive.

Summary: I bought this to replace a Canon I-550 that quit working for me. I'm sold on Canon because the print quality is outstanding, and it's nice to have the separate ink cartridges so you can replace only the color that runs out. A less expensive model would probably have sufficed for me, but I found this for a little over $90 shipped and I like a printer that produces professional looking photos. This printer's case is a high gloss piano black that shows smudges easily. Not really a problem as it does look nice.

Strengths: Fast printing, accurate color

Weaknesses: USB cable not included

Summary: This printer prints very quickly and accurately. Photos look wonderful! Sleek, attractive design. A bit on the expensive side but you can find really good deals for the printer online. The USB cable required to connect to the computer isn't included, but that's not too much extra to have to purchase.
