Strengths: Beautiful Printing, very fast, Great Mac Software (Big Surprise There), Very Nice Scanning (Scans straight to iphoto), ink appears very cheap if you buy the XL versions of the ink

Weaknesses: Huge, Scanner is slow and very hard to configure correctly, DON'T USE SOFTWARE ON DISK - download the mac software from HP. Software on CD was a DISASTER!!!!!

Summary: This printer really surprised me. I bought it because I needed a fax machine. It is a GREAT fax but has become a truly all-in-one solution for me. Big warning on the software on the CD - on mine it was out of date and didn't work. I l downloaded the mac and PC software off of HP's site and it has worked GREAT. I have it networked through my Airport Express to 2 iMacs, 1 Macbook and one PC. They all print great. Scanner is great but you have to connect the printer directly to the Mac to use it which is inconnvient. Kids love how fast it is and I love the quality.

Strengths: internet-ready, fast printing, quality of the printouts

Weaknesses: size and weight, HD occupancy, price

Summary: I've been using this for two month. So far no issue about the compatability, but it took the hard drive space to some extent. The speed of the printing is one of the fastest I've ever used.I do like the built in internet connection feature. Make the life easier. The size and weight should be imporved a little bit but since I rarely move it. That's fine.

Strengths: Great text and graphic printingrelative cheap inkUSB, Network ready

Weaknesses: Huge size

Summary: In this day and age, almost any multi-function AIO unit from a reputable manufacturer will do a good job on the typical everyday uses of faxing, printing and scanning. But how will they perform as photo printers? Image quality from HP L7580 is quite impressive, almost as good as one gets from a lab. As a photo scanner, it provides more than adequate scanning quality for the vast majority of users. I love this printer, and strongly recommend it.

Strengths: Big & Heavy; network connection; HP brandname

Weaknesses: Bloated software; long install process; no duplex

Summary: We were replacing an older Canon inkjet AIO that had died, so thought this was a good option when it had a large rebate at an office supply store. First off, the thing is alot bigger and heavier than I expected! I guess that is why they call it an OfficeJet Pro! ;-) Installation took quite some time, as you had to put in inks, paper, cables, etc. The software installation was a pain, as we wanted to use it as a network printer, and not bother with the USB. It kept having problems finding the printer, so I had to manually give it an IP address. It installed multiple pieces of software on my computer, most of which was not necessary as you could go to a web-page to configure the printer (once you find the printer on your network). I later went back and uninstalled everything but was was necessary. I would suggest selecting the "minimum" install, when given the choice.I like the quality of the pictures, and the B&W text is fine. I have yet to try the scanner function, though from what I understand, you can do this over your network (just hope I didn't uninstall that portion of the software)! I most use the copy feature, which works great with the auto-feeding tray. IMPORTANT: No duplex operation! You need to upgrade to the L7590 for that, though there might be an upgrade option.

Strengths: - great print quality- fast- network ready

Weaknesses: - software is not that great- initial setup takes more than 30 minutes

Summary: I was looking for an AIO to replace my OfficeJet 6110xi. Staples had a great deal ($150 rebate / $50 trade-in for old printer). Couldn't pass up this deal. I usually print in fast/draft mode - but I printed one high quality print - and the quality is amazing! Printing in fast/draft mode is extremely fast!

Strengths: large ink cartridges and good price on ink, prints quickly, quick fax and copy functions

Weaknesses: intimidating for the technically challenged

Summary: i just wanted a simple functional printer/ fax/ copier but my computer geek husband wanted a network capable higher quality model, had to be HP. having said that, it was pretty easy for me to set up - just used the installation cd without difficulty. also, the fax has been wonderful, much quicker and less errors than my previous Brother fax. prints quickly, and apparently there's a double sided print feature which i have not yet utilized. very satisfied with print quality, and also happy about the large (i.e. cheaper) ink cartridges. i'm sure there's more to this machine than i've discovered, probably more than needed for simple home use.

Strengths: Fast print speed

Weaknesses: Pricy

Summary: My Canon IP3000 does not work after 2 years, so I decide to buy a new printer with good color print quality and duplex function. I happened to see this HP Officejet Pro L7580 Color All-In-One Printer on sale in Staples for only $100, so I gave it a try. The built quality is solid with print, copy, scan and fax included in one machine. Besides, it even comes with network and duplex functions. The ink lasts for a long time (over 1000 pages) and the print quality is pretty good.

Strengths: All-in-One jobs all satisfactory at good price. Network feature. Draft mode adequate for day to day printing.

Weaknesses: Best printing mode is froim from top end, especially for photos. Has some difficulty with thicker stock paper (doubles). Noisy.

Summary: This is a very good all-in-one printer that can handle your home or small office needs with ease. It's a little noisy as it huffs and puffs out large print jobs, but the print quality is good and it's plenty quick, especially in draft mode. The network mode allows you to avoid having to keep a slaved computer on all the time, however it is not wireless so you better have ethernet. Don't expect to produce top quality photo prints. Its adequate for birthday cards and small projects, but far from the top end.

Strengths: Network ready (no printserver required). Fax, scanner and printer all in one. A consumer reports best buy.

Weaknesses: 8 printer cartidges may equal large cost.

Summary: My better half wanted a fax machine. The kids wanted a printer of their own. So I opted for this baby to be able to free up my old printer for the kids. What a great machine. The fact that I don't need to spend $50-$100 for a printer server is a real blessing. Then add to that the color scanner. I originally thought it was a black & white scanner. I was able to put my HP 2400 scanner into storage. I went to Charter communication and ordered distinctive ring for $3/month. Now the fax will only answer the phone on this pseudo second line. That was great for me because now I'll never have to babysit the machine. I didn't realize that distinctive ring was an available feature. Anyway I haven't had it long enough to run out of ink. CR reported that it costs 1.8 cent/page which was the cheapest of all the All-in-one inkjets that they rated in the article I found. So I'm a very happy customer!

Strengths: It queit, fast, and easy to install, and learn to use.

Weaknesses: Its a bit larger than most home office printers, but it fit Ok on my desk.

Summary: Wow, when my husband said he would get me a nice printer for Christmas I never dreamed it would be this nice. He did his homework, and called and talked to the HP tech. So he got the best all in one printer that I can use for our home office. This is a top of the line quality yet at a cost that keeps us small companies with limited operational budgets. I used my last HP all in one printer for over 10 years, and hated to change since it worked so great. I am glad my husband made this change. This is a awesome printer that will get used lots over the years.

Strengths: Has alot of great built in functionality. Built in Ethernet out of the box. Hardware wise it seems fine.

Weaknesses: Currently this product and I am sure many other HP products has a critical flaw in the software at least in windows XP. This service it installs causes your CPU load to increase from 50 to 100%.

Summary: We got this printer for our office hooked to 5 machines. On every single machine the CPU load increased to 50 to 100% causing machines to overheat and slow down there function. It is a software bug in the service that connects your machine to the printer. It is a known issue they are working on however from the look of there forums it has been known for awhile. A software glitch that most consumers would not know how to trouble shoot as the process in the task manager just says svchost.exe. You actually need the process explorer to find that is the HPService that is the issue. This bug is totally not acceptable. It like installing a juicy virus on your computer but that a virus scanner won't find. Called tech support. I was patient .. 45 minutes later after checking all the regular nonsense I had to beat it out of him that it was a known bug and they are working on a patch.

Strengths: All in one feature. Easy to use

Weaknesses: set up

Summary: I purchased the L7580 after my Epson CX5400 died from terminally clogged inkjets after 2 years. I was looking for a machine that can handle thicker cardstock found in postcards, since I do regular mailings. So far this machine has surpassed all my expectations. It has fast printing and printed out postcards with graphics and color quickly in about 30 minutes. On my old machine that would have taken several hours to do. The only concern I have with the machine was it came with a bad installation disc and took over 4 hours with tech support on the phone to realize that. I ended up having to download the software from the website to install the printer, more a hassle than anything else. The only other issue was the printer does not recognize programs which are DOS based (like found in some shareware), but according to the HP website this is true of all HP printers, so I had to upgrade my publishing program which was only a year old.

Strengths: Unclear, because the printer gave numerous error messages and HP support is useless

Weaknesses: Didn't setup properlyComplex SetupSupport Lacking

Summary: Bought the 7530 in all its overpackaged glory today. Brought it home and began the arduous process of setting it up (30 mins of labor just installing ink/paper/print heads). After bringing it online, it began its self-test and installation routine. During the install, the printer gave me 3 paper jam errors (there were no paper jams) and failed to initialize.I then called HP support where I was routed to an Indian call center and put on hold for 33.5 minutes without talking to anyone knowledgeable. Three further calls to support resulted in misrouted queue requests ("Your product appears to be out of warranty"), until I finally reached Chris. Chris had absolutely zero insight or valuable assistance to offer me in setting up this printer.Let me be clear - I'm a very experienced technology CEO - and am really comfortable setting up devices like printers. But companies don't seem to realize that their customers' impressions are made/broken on the very first interaction with support. In this regard, HP fails (much like Dell) to resolve issues in a timely and appropriate fashion - and, therefore, makes me not want to buy their products. So, I'm going to return this to CompUsa tomorrow and buy that Canon MP830 that I *know* to be an excellent printer - at least they can support their products appropriately.

Strengths: Super fast printing. Network-capable.

Weaknesses: Software is not intuitive and eats up HD space.

Summary: I was looking for a network AIO and chose the L7580 over the C6180 after looking at the print-outs in the store. The C6180 doesn't print black, but a more charcoal gray. The L7580 make a perfect copy with great blacks. I also considered the Canon MP830, but that's not networkable, so, sorry Canon, you guys need to play some catch up. The L7580 feels solid and well-built. The downfall is HP's software, which is space-hungry and not intuitive. It sets up the printer on the network just fine, but using the software to scan and print takes some getting used to. That's where Canon shines, IMO. Also, I printed a 8.5x11 photo, and you can see black streaks every so often. So take note that this isn't such a great photo printer. However for text and graphics this will work out wonderfully.
