Strengths: Beautiful screen and graphics, windows functionality, memory card slots, easy ActiveSync.
Weaknesses: Windows functionality (!) - the occasional lock-up and reset, but nothing serious so far.
Summary: What a step up from years as a Palm OS user. Yes, it costs more, but I will be organizing tasks, files, and media differently from here on.I use a 1 GB SD card, and a 128 MB compact flash (from my camera), and so far have plenty of room. I have a large research library installed, Adobe for Pocket PC, iSilo reader, and am on the hunt for more apps. The Power Kit in the package offered by BuyDig.com has a handy USB sync recharge cord, as well as auto adapter. So I can leave the cradle at computer #2 and travel light.

Strengths: Size, form, speed, price, expansion capabilities, what it can DO!
Weaknesses: Manual doesn't help much in figuring out how to get the most from this little guy. Also wish there was a case with it - more than the flip cover.
Summary: I shopped long and hard for a PDA when I realized that my Palm was just too old for the software I needed to run. It still worked fine, but ran out of memory and wasn't expandable. Should I go Palm or Windows? Should I pay a fortune or settle for minimal financial outlay? Which product would last the longest, considering my own needs? This IPAQ hx2495 is great: it has a gorgeous screen for reading my ebooks; it connects anywhere there's a wireless so I can feed my Internet addiction more frequently; it eats up huge programs like they were light lunch; and it has finally allowed my two computers to be synched with calendars and contacts. I am still playing with capabilities that are new to me, and do wish there was a better owner's manual that covered functions a bit more in depth. User's forums have been sketchy with many different PDA's discussed and not real specific for this one. Would like to sync without a cord, but not sure how to set that up through wireless and there's not much specific info out there to help. But overall, I have absolutely NO regrets on my choice, on the price, or on the current functioning of this IPAQ hx 2495.

Strengths: Compace and affordable price. Can run most office file in the pda even use SD direct copy to the directory. Save me a lot of time for sync.
Weaknesses: I still do not know how to trun off the PDA. It comes on whenever it wants to. Battery power loss is quite a problem. Do not know how to use the time in daylight saving time.
Summary: Every time I sync with computer, the time setting goes to the winter time which is one hour late from the day light saving time. Power problem is quite annoy. The connecter has to use the adapter and the transformer to charge the PDA. Too many stuff for me to carry on the road. They should have the seprate carge slot to trasnformer. No way to back up the program I load into the PDA. They take out the good stuff from the previous Pocket PC 2002 which I used.

Strengths: Fast, light weight, easy to carry, easy to use
Weaknesses: None so far
Summary: This ipaq outshines previous PDA's that I have had. Currently I use it while on rotations and it holds many of the programs that I need. It is very easy to use and can fit easily in my pocket. I have added a 1 GB SD card which allows me to store pictures, additional programs, and music. This is great PDA and I recommend it highly.

Strengths: Compact, powerful, good battery life, great memory and ease of setup and software installation
Weaknesses: larger than Tungsten, wireless connectivity sometimes difficult, but not often
Summary: Since I received my IPAQ as a gift, I've used it increasingly more each day. Holds a plethora of information and I've added several programs without running out of memory. Dual slots for SD Compact Flash are exceptional and really come in handy. With a 1GB SD card and A 1 GB Compact Flash, combined with the internal memory, I've been able to do any and everything. Three programs I've loaded are Streets Maps, E-Sword Bible Pocket DVD Wizard (to watch movies) and all work extremely well on this powerful little handheld. Highly recommended!

Strengths: Form Factor - sleek, stylish, compact; excellent QVGA display, excellent battery life, feels robust and well built, fast CPU and ample memory.
Weaknesses: For the price, a leather/aluminium cover should've been included. Also for the price, a discount coupon to purchase PPC software at select online etailers would've been welcome.
Summary: I've been using this IPAQ for just short of a month. This is my first ever PDA and I was debating between the hx2495, the 2795 and the Dell Axim x51v. After weeks of research and reading user reviews, I decided to get the hx2495 and couldn't be happier. The 520MHz processor (while not the fastest) is plenty fast and with WM5, one can load most additional software onto an SD or CF card and this leaves most of the RAM and ROM available for running programs. The display is simply gorgeous. I was a little sceptical of getting a QVGA display (especially after realizing that the "Q" in QVGA stood for "Quarter" in that it has quarter the number of pixels that a VGA unit has), but, am blown away by the picture quality. I've watched videos (ripped dvds) and streaming media (over wifi) and they are both fantastic.Setting up WiFi was a piece of cake. It was effortless to hook it up to my WLAN and get online. Although I haven't used Blue Tooth a whole lot, I was able to connect to my friend's Razr phone and transfer files. Very slick! The battery life is phenomenal. I had heard that the Dell Axim's batteries are pretty anaemic (unless one gets the extra-strength battery which then protrudes) and was very happy to note that I can leave the IPAQ off the cradle for a few days at a stretch while using it off and on and still not run out of juice.I've purchased and installed quite a few applications - all on an external 1GB SD card and they work great. The only complaint I have is more a WM5 issue. There are almost no backup programs available for WM5. As one who always has multiple images of all my PCs, I shudder at the possibility of losing all my installed and finely tuned apps and their settings. While there are a couple of vendors still developing a version for WM5, it's not quite there yet.Despite that, I now use my IPAQ everyday and would recommend this without hesitation.

Summary: I have been watching PDAs for a long time and this one struck me as a perfect compromise between functionality and price. It helps me do on the go what I could only do at my desk before, a great bonus in a busy life style.

Strengths: Well built with plastic cover as screen protector. Small and fast. Supports both SD CF cards.
Weaknesses: None except for the price. You can get a notebook for this price !
Summary: Well built. Windows Mobile 5.0 works like desktop PC. I loaded it with Resco Explorer 2005 and it gives more fuctionality and it is a shame it is not included as it is an essential tool. There are no issues but a Dell Axim would be less costly. Wish it could print word, excel documents too. For the price I do not think it is worth the money. Satisfactory for the cost but would rate it high for functionality.
