Strengths: Battery life, speed and compatibility
Weaknesses: none
Summary: I bought this on Sep 2005 and used it for couple months. The battery can keep longer than my old x30. Also, very light screen. SD/CF expandable slots make it very useful when you use a CF GPS receiver. It is a pretty good product I have to say.

Strengths: large screen, high resolution, built-in bluetooth and WI-FI, great for daily use.
Weaknesses: It could be better if there is a built-in camera.
Summary: The 3.7 inch screen with 16 bits color really shocks me at first. The high speed CPU, the large memory, and the stylish outlook beat my previous x30 a lot. It includes the WI-FI. You don't need to carry your laptop anymore, and this PDA can satisfy your normal internet use. Furthermore, X51v does well in playing Mp3 and movies, even games. I am really satisfied with the performance, and Dell's tech support is very good too.

Strengths: VGA screen, reasonable price, lots of features--624mhz, 256 mb memory. Takes sd and cf cards.
Weaknesses: many
Summary: This PDA will nice in a year or so when bugs are worked out of the operating system . WM5 is horrible. NOT true VGA support w/o hacks. Syncing is trouble to get going. And the x51v trys to sync every five minutes or so without cause. I am still having problems with the CF disappearing and occasional COMPLETE UNEXPLAINED battery drain. Bluetooth support leave much to be desired. Once they get the bugs out the unit will have incredible video, GPS support, games, etc.

Weaknesses: one cradle with my order
Summary: I was looking for a pda to replace my Dell x5 and came across the x51V. I loved the features of this PDA having used my friends for a day and decided it was the one I was going to get. I love the wireless internet connection, it really passes time in malls when my wife is trying on clothes, I just wish every mall had wifi!

Weaknesses: none so far
Summary: I love this PDA. The screen is incredable. It has the SD/CF expandable slots. I can also use it to surf internet. It has built-in bluetooth, so I use it as a GPS as well. Overall it's a great unit!

Strengths: Large screen, crisp resolution, strong processor, and large memory.
Weaknesses: Short battery life, unstable windows mobile 5 system, and no USB sync cable in the package.
Summary: I have this PDA for more than two weeks and it works great so far. The screen is big so I can use it to watch divx movies, also thanks to its capable processor. But the battery lift is not so good. With its genuine 1100 mAh battery, this PDA can only work about four hours with back light on, even shorter if with the wireless or bluetooth on. Also, the newly released WM 5 system is not perfect. It has quite a few small problems, and the 3rd-party softwares compatible with WM 5 are not many. In summary, this is a good product, I am satisfied and will recommend it to you.

Strengths: Large display, large memory, syncs to Outlook
Weaknesses: Sluggish response to commands, failure to use software purchased for my previous Pocket PC, poor service
Summary: I purchased this Axim X51v with high hopes that it would be several steps ahead of my old Ipaq 1945 Pocket PC. I've been sorely disappointed.1) It seems sluggish in its operation. When I would click a command with the stylus on my Ipaq, it instantly responded. With the Axim there is almost always a hesitation before the response.2) Essential software I purchased for my Ipaq (e.g., the Laridan Bible software) could not load satisfactorily to my Axim with its MS Mobile 5.0 system. This led me to waste several hours in various attempts to make it work. Finally, Laridan upgraded their software, and I was able to get it from their website. 3) For some reason, my huge 250 MB memory suddenly went down to 3 MB and would decline even without adding more information to the unit. 4) To solve the issue in #3, I did a hard restart to take the Axim back to factory settings. But then it wouldn't sync with my PC. The Active Sync software seemed to think I was trying to sync it to more than one computer. 5) When I went to Dell support, I spent more than an hour with a technician but did not solve the problem. 6) Finally, after easily 12 hours of wasted time in my first month of ownership, while the Axim was in its cradle to keep the battery charged, suddenly I noticed that it had synced. It's a total mystery to me that it's fixed and total anxiety that it will go down again, and Dell still won't know what to do to fix it.7) If I could return it to Dell for a refund, I would.

Weaknesses: I do not like the Mobile 5.0 Platform for Dell Axim x51. I wish there was an option to remove it and put on 2003.
Summary: I do not like the Mobile 5.0 Platform for Dell Axim x51. I wish there was an option to remove it and put on 2003. Until 5.0 works good, I would NOT recommend the Dell Axim x51.

Strengths: 256MB flash, great for entertainment; safer data storage
Weaknesses: none
Summary: X51v is basically an upgrade of X50v and not a new model it really is just an X50v with 128mb more memory and Windows Mobile 5 which X50v is supported as well. The X51v has a 1100 mAh Lithium Ion battery that is the same as the X50v though battery life looks better than the X50 series! For people who already have X50v, it is not worth to update your pda. But for those who are still using X3 or older models, I recommend you to try this cute gadget.

Strengths: Amazing VGA screen, Wifi and bluetooth capable. CF/SD slot (easy expansion).
Weaknesses: Nothing to complain up till now
Summary: This is the first PDA i have ever owned. I plan to use it as a tiny notebook to enjoy the music, reading, etc. Also, I like it server as a great GPS system on travelling. The battery's life is little shorter for me. But i guess i can not complain about that for a nice VGA based PDA.

Strengths: Long battery life, SD CF slots, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Weaknesses: Little bit larger
Summary: I had Dell Axim X30 and Palm. This is the 3rd PDA I have. Basically, this is the best one I have. Longer battery life, 6 hours; VGA screen; and SD/CF card slots which make a CF GPS receiver possible with an external SD memory card. Th size is little bit bigger than my X30, but it also have a larger screen which make it looks better.

Summary: This is the bet PDA I have ever owned and believe me I went through a lot of PDA's in the last 2 years. This is the first PDA, that is able to keep all my medical software at the same time and still have enough space for other programs. It has a super fast CPU, I can run multiple programs at the same time. It has a super long battery life, so I do not have worry about charging it. I love the screen, it is bright and easy to see.

Weaknesses: Some bugs/quirks in software to be worked out
Summary: Great great item. Dell recently had them for VERY cheap ($235ish) after coupons. Was was exactly what I was looking for with both WiFi and BT and SD/CF expansion slots. The new windows mobile OS improves performance and battery life over the x50. For this kind of price, it is a no brainer.

Strengths: Large ROM. Big Screen. BT and WiFi
Weaknesses: Battery, RAM
Summary: This is a very good PDA. I have a X5 before. Compare to X5, X51v has larger Screen and ROM. And it has bluetooth and WiFi integrated. It is easy to expend a BT GPS. The only weaknesses are the small battery and the small RAM. If Dell can add 128RAM, then x51v will be a dream PDA.
