Strengths: HW seems to be of good quality ang gives a good perfomance
Weaknesses: Dreaduful operating system - WM5 is a reall joke, eye candy only.
Summary: Even with factory setting and SW (no add-ons) it was very instable (comparing to my old Clie). It took me about 10 days of hard work to tune it up and if I wouldn't be an IT geek, I wouldn't get it work. Circa 9 of each 10 tested task managers makes WM5 instable ans dreadfully slow. The respons to commands is dreadfull and slugish, the PDA is with it's 640MHz in general slower or equal to my old Clie with it's 33MHz.The WM5 is NOT TRULLY VGA compatible! It just displays stuff on VGA screen, with no options to switch system to hi-res for effective work. The WM5 has very little settings with generally no options to custumize the system! There is lack of software for Widows Mobile/Pocket PC, even counting commercial SW. And with freeware only you won't have sufficient SW gear at all (unlike on Palm OS). Overall, I was shocked by WM5 perfomance and capabilities. As for HW, look all right. I experienced 1 or 2 (in the half of year I have it) mysterious battery drains (as other users describe, could be Wi-fi running when device is off??). I want to test Linux and Opie, if they tune it up for this Axim, it could be superb device...

Strengths: Great screen, tons of memory, not bulky, memory card options, battery life, looks good, performs very well.
Weaknesses: Plastic case.
Summary: Overall a very good PDA. Has both wi-fi and bluetooth and both are easily enabled with a side button. WM 5 is more polished than other versions. Memory doesn't drain the battery and the cpu can be throttled down to prolong battery life.

Summary: I broke my axim x30 and needed a replacement. Researched the phone/PDA thing but found that I needed to pay for a data plan. I can use my moto e815 w/blutooth and surf for minutes or free. I came close to buying a Ipaq but this had VGA screen and more memory then I found this great deal so bought the Axim

Strengths: Fast processor, thin and light PDA
Weaknesses: When WLAN is activated the battery life is significantly reduced
Summary: Nice PDA, with good performance, I tried to install all the software available on the cd that was provided with the PDA box, but most of these software were trials, I would like if this PDA had a SIM card and a GPS hardware.

Strengths: Very fast; superb resolution; many useful features in one package; best value you can find.
Weaknesses: Standard battery is somewhat time-limited.
Summary: This is the first PDA I've used/purchased; it is excellent; much better than I expected. It does WI-FI very well. The software takes some practice, but is very functional. Memory capacity is a strong feature. Sending/receiving email is also nice. The battery capacity seems mostly a function of how much the screen is used (battery wears out relatively quickly when using WI-FI to surf the net). The MP3 function is very good and uses very little power. Direct data entry (eg. writing email) is easier if you use a Bluetooth travel mouse. The screen is remarkable - much sharper and brighter than competitors. And, lastly, I don't think you can find a better value for the money (even at Dell's regular price).

Strengths: Excellent resolution
Weaknesses: Windows Mobile not compatible with other applications
Summary: The PDA works well except for locking up several times a day. In addition, one application (Microsoft Reader) needs to be rebooted during use. In addition, imbedded images could not be viewed within Pocket Word.

Strengths: Strong graphics, amazing speed, even the standard battery has a long life, I got the addittional battery larger size but haven't used it yet. Wifi is superb, Amazing and great GPS worth it.
Weaknesses: Not yet found any, 2gb SD card has lots of space still. Every website, crystal clear, SmartTV is amazing, Full features, Outlook, only wish Powerpoint could be interactive
Summary: I came as a great skeptic, not thinking I could ever think of replacing my laptop and as a frequent flier I am finding that this powerful PDA is really a strong contender for any cell phone PDA out there. HUGE Bonus, You NEVER have to pay monthly fees for subscriptions or by the KB. My take, is that the cellphone industry is trying to corner the PDA market and charge you for every ala carte item they can. This is amazing, like a mini DVD, gamer and full feature WIFI Bluetooth you can ever get.

Strengths: Doesn't work long enough to evaluate it
Weaknesses: Little or no customer support
Summary: The unit won't hold a charge for more than about 5 minutes. A reset seems to be the only way I can get it to work. I purchased a new battery, and nothing changed.I called Dell customer support and was transfered to India. I didn't get anywhere. I asked to speak to the supervisor, and was told he was not available. If you are looking for customer support, look elsewhere.

Strengths: Big and bright screen, dual PDA/GPS capability, syncs well with Outlook
Weaknesses: A bit slow booting up when turned on
Summary: I have owned two other PDAs and I have been very happy with the Axim X51v's performance Not only does it excel in the normal PDA functions, but for a fraction of the cost of a stand alone GPS device, it can be inexpensively upgraded to be an excellent GPS device, too! To purchase a new PDA and a separate GPS device, I would easily spend over $1,100.00! But for significantly less, I get a GPS and a PDA all in one! I use it almost everyday in its GPS capacity and it has never failed to get me where I need to go! Except for the cumbersome wires from the GPS satelite receiver, cigarette lighter and power cord to the PDA, I have nothing negative to say about this excellent 2 in 1 inexpensive PDA/GPS!
