Strengths: IT WAS GOOD WHILE IT LASTED FOR 3 MONTHS ONLY THOUGH

Weaknesses: STOPPED CHARGING AND WORKING AFTER 3 MONTHS

Summary: I PURCHASED the Dell latitude d600 notebook July 08 and after only 3 months it stopped working and charging...could not get any help when tried to contact someone...I would not recommend this product because it failed me after such a short time and i was out several hundred bucks.

Strengths: sturdy for the most part, average weight, mediocre customer service

Weaknesses: heat where the battery sits, a little heavy/bulky for my taste, flimsy keys/keyboard and power/volume buttons

Summary: As you can see above, it was difficult for me to think of strengths or weaknesses. That's because I consider this a very mediocre laptop. It's not great, but it's not bad either. I would call it "good" though. Yes...maybe not when it's making me angry, but for the most part. The battery is under my left palm and is constantly hot, which is an irritation. In fact, it is downright painful sometimes. The physical parts have cracked on me now, but it is 4 years old so I can't say anything about that -- I would expect not many laptops would last this long (granted this is the only laptop I've ever owned, but this is what I've been told). I had to replace the keyboard and power/volume buttons once (while still under warranty) because they are rather flimsy, but since then they have been fine.I would not "praise" Dell's computer service , but it is again, mediocre. If you call and complain for a decent amount of time, they will take care of you. In no way do they go above and beyond. I had purchased the 3-year extended at-home service warranty and at first they always refused to do the at-home part...until I complained. They always caved in.All in all, I can see why businesses would like to purchase this in bulk -- makes sense. Not so great for a personal use laptop though...I think you can get better for the money. If I start a business, I'll buy another Dell. Until then...I think I will move on and try some other companies...

Strengths: none

Weaknesses: they say they have good service but it is not.

Summary: i took one of these laptops apart it was horrible cheap to will never buy or sell or even tell any of my friends to buy a laptop. Now bill gates is trying to corner the market with vista so you have to upgrade. The program slows your computer down and when you call them for help i know more than they do. It adds no special features besides what they copied from mac. (i do not like mac either.) just stick with xp pro with sp2 intill they figure it out. USE BETTER PARTS NEXT TIME DELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths: durable, performance, graphics card radeon 9000, lightweight powerful and decent battery life.

Weaknesses: None found so far.

Summary: I work for a very large company that purchases many types of notebooks based on user request. The D600 has been the best. My company to continue with Dell with their newer models.
