Strengths: Lightweight, long battery life. Expandable storage space with SDHD slot. Can install to winXP, and comes with a xp driver cd. In XP- Can play high quality XVID/DIVX videos with no stuttering.
Weaknesses: 800x480 resolution is sometimes a limitation for some media heavy websites. the 900mhz processor is limited to ~600mhz by default.
Summary: On windows xp, the stock video drivers do not allow a stretched fullscreen 640x480x32 application. There is a modified driver that will fix it, or certain games can be modified to run at the Eee native resolution. Hopefully asus will update the driver to solve this issue.

Strengths: Solid build, very small, lots of usb ports, bright screen, decent battery life (about 3 hours with wifi on), decent quality webcam, boots very quickly
Weaknesses: Slow processor, limited internal storage, could use a larger screen considering the size of the border around it. 800x480 resolution can be a pain, mostly due to low vertical size.
Summary: My first impression taking it out of the box was that it was tiny. Holding it in my hands the entire machine felt very solidly built. The LCD's hinge feels nice and sturdy and it closes with a snap. The operating system it comes with is more than decent for surfing the web, though for youtube videos it's hard to make the entire video fit so I often find myself hitting F11 to maximize the browser area. The entire machine looks very sleek and well put together. Installing Windows XP on it was a breeze and the DVD with the drivers has an option to install all so as long as you set it to boot from the internal storage rather than the optical drive then it'll go through the process of installing all the drivers without you needed to do anything. I'm down to only 954mb of free space though I think I'm probably doing something wrong as I had about 1.2gb before I tried getting rid of the virtual memory. I'll probably reinstall windows to try and iron out the kinks. I purchased the EEE PC as I felt my 14" laptop was a pain to take to class and because the only moving parts it has is a single fan I'm not as worried about it being passed around to my friends during lecture, plus it's a lot less obvious.

Strengths: Lightweight, fully functional low powered laptop. Can install Windows XP, comes with Windows XP drivers.
Weaknesses: Tiny keyboard keys, especially for large hands. Small screen real estate.
Summary: I was really excited to get the eeePC, especially after playing around with a friends. However, after using it for a n extended period, I found it to be rather uncomfortable when used as a web surfing appliance. The small screen makes it difficult to read most pages without having to scroll across from side to side. The keyboard is also tiny and I notice that I frequently miss keys or they do not get pressed hard enough to be registered. The trackpad button is also rather picky and does not always register when depressed. However, all is not bad with the eeePC, it is a great device, especially if you enjoy hacking your tech devices. There are many great sites for getting the most out of your eeepc and I highly recommended you research them. Plus it is lightweight and can be easily carried anywhere. For the price and features, it is a great product, it just needs some fine tuning.

Strengths: extremely light, fast, upgradeable, fantastic product
Weaknesses: hard to find any, maybe the 4GB SSD
Summary: Really light (2 lb), with upgradeable RAM (up to 2 GB if you hack the Xandros kernel, or install Ubuntu or even Windows - the Windows drivers are included), wickedly fast without the Ms bloatware, easy to hack (is a Linux machine). I bought for my wife, which loves it (her first exposure to Linux, and no transition issues what so ever), but I find using it myself quite a bit. To give you an idea about the size, it does fit into a cargo pant pocket or a small size purse. I upgraded some of the software included (see eeeuser.com forums for any help you would need with this gem), and it is unbelievable. A heck of a buy for me, a perfect gift for Valentine's day for my wife :)

Strengths: size, weight, surprising ability
Weaknesses: screen resolution
Summary: This is a very good 2nd pc/laptop. Comes with Linux, but with instructions on how to install Windows XP. Memory can be upgraded to 1GB without issue -- although you'd want to check the warranty since it differs by country. Very easy to use right out of the box. One thing I noticed though was that the sometimes the ctrl key of left tab doesn't always register. I haven't quite figured out if it just isn't that sensitive and I should press harder, or if there is something else going on.

Strengths: light weight, low price point, and fast boot times.
Weaknesses: storage space and keyboard key sizes.
Summary: This is an excellent computer for when you don't want to heft around a 17" laptop or when you need to have something simple and straight forward. I got this so I don't have to take my heavy 10 lbs 17" Toshiba and this fits in my backpack with no problems and is not too heavy.

Strengths: Ultra-portable, inexpensive, good battery life.
Weaknesses: Limited storage space, only a handful of applications, a little slow
Summary: The reason for me to buy this laptop instead of a regular one is for its size and weight. There are similar products in the markets but at much higher price. I am very surprised that Asus could make this so affordable. Although there are only 4G of storage space that is basically not enough to install anything. This machine is very expendable. Adding external USB flash or disk drives, one immediately gets additional storage space. I will follow instruction in the manual to install windows xp in this machine to run some windows applications. Then I can leave my old laptop home and only carry this little guy with me when I travel in the future.
