Summary: 5 1 06 to Feb 1 08 Two Acer 1916 black screen- not workingI use these 18 hours a day.So it works for 1 1/2 years then dies? I will update when I see if they are going to cover both of these.

Strengths: Good resolution, sharp and bright pictures, low latency for movies

Weaknesses: Screen cannot be moved for adjustments/ rotation for potrait mode. The screen is a bit easy to scratch.

Summary: I got the item from buy.com at about $200 + tax, which was a great bargain six months back. The screen is sharp and bright and can be seen from wide angles. I upgraded from a 17 inch CRT and so the main benefit for me was lot more desk area. Also it has the same width as my old CRT, since the frame is very narrow, which is a major plus. This monitor does not come with any digital input, only the analog input and I used the connector I used for my CRT monitor. The picture quality is great and the refresh rate is good enough for any DVD movie that I played. I haven't tried any games on it. Since the screen is plastic, like any other LCD, it is bit easy to scratch and after six months I have got some scratches which interfares with my photo editing (I try to erase them in Photoshop assuming them to be in the photo). However many scratches are removed by cleaning with officemax screen cleaning tissue.

Strengths: Nice contrast ratio. Very pleasing.

Weaknesses: Mid day, it's kinda hard to see sometimes.

Summary: I bought this originally for a friend, just to find they had gone to walmart all ready. So it became a second monitor, and then my main monitor when I noticed how nicely it worked.

Strengths: Bright, clear picture fully adjustable

Weaknesses: Not sufficient adjustment of angle

Summary: This received in excellent condition and easy to set up, just plug in and it works. The image is bright, clear and adjustable using the menu and adjustment buttons below the screen. The lack of speakers is not of concern when you already have separate speakers of better quality, and it keeps the price down. I recommend this as a superior value for the price.

Strengths: Great color, no dead pixels, fast 8ms response, crisp, clear images

Weaknesses: Wish it could tilt some, but other than that, NONE.

Summary: I replaced my 17" CRT with the 19" LCD Acer, and am so pleased with it! The difference is amazing! And it gives you so much more desk space, lighter and easier to move, far better pictures, colors and more screen viewing area. Just plug it in and you're good to go....I got it for $185.00 and should have gotten it a long time ago!! (my computer guru recommended Acer years ago and he was right. Will definately buy Acer products again!)

Strengths: Looks fantastic, good resolution, easy to set up.

Weaknesses: Very pixely at 1024x768, a bit flickery once in a while (very minor).

Summary: A very good value for the price. It's a very nice-looking monitor, very simple with a nice, clear picture -- just be careful if you plan to use the 1024x768 setting. Fortunately I got it so I could use the highest resolution it has (1280x1024) and that looks great. No problems as of yet, and I don't expect any.

Weaknesses: no USB like Dell

Summary: This is a very nice monitor for the money if you get a good rebate- I say go for it. Have been pleased with the picture and specs. Not too fancy but for 200.00 range well worthwhile IMHO.

Summary: I have used monitor for about 30days. No dead pixs (ordered from BUY.COM). The picture is clear and crisp, i'm very happy with it. It dosn't come with speakers. Overall a great monitor.

Strengths: Great price from PC Connection($130 after rebates) Buy $10 more and get free shipping. Looks great right out of box. Had problem with no-name brand but this company mfgrs flat screens. Read specs.

Weaknesses: To new to tell but no dead pixels & very vivid color.

Summary: This is a deal that ends May 31st. It has 8ms responce, 700:1 contrast, 3 year warranty and looks better than picture shows. Seem to be a quality made 19" LCD w/ DVI and is very bright in use. You have to send for $110 in rebates and built in speakers are only good for voice messages, I have stereo speakers so don't use monitors 1" speakers. TigerDirect has a similar model(HR199D) and you can get customers feed back on the quality of the monitor. You can't go wrong for $130 bucks !!

Summary: I've only had this for a few days, but have been very pleased. I replaced a 17" CRT monitor with this one, and installation was a snap. I used the VGA cable, and it just worked first time! Windows found the drivers w/out having to use the installation CD. All I had to do was re-adjust the screen size dimensions. The monitor is not the sleekest of things, but a this price, how can you argue! :-) The colors are crisp, the text is clear and its plenty bright enough after a few tweaks. I played a video came on it, and the 8ms refresh rate led to very smooth transitions. I am very impressed that Acer provides a three year warranty that (hopefully) I will never have to use! I'm sure there are "better" monitors out there, but heck, I can't tell the difference, so why pay for it?

Strengths: Great monitor at an excellent price

Weaknesses: Models manufactured in January '06 do NOT support anti-aliasing at lower resolutions. At 1024x768 the screen looks all jagged and blocky. Models manufactured Feburary '06 DO support anti-aliasing

Summary: Great LCD monitor for the price if you have the one manufactured from Feb. 2006. I purchased 2 of these 19" LCD's and happend to get 2 different models. Both where AL1916AB. Both had the same stickers. The only difference I could see at first was the Manufacture Date. The one from Jan. had power port and VGA port very close together. The one from Feb. and power port and VGA port far apart. BAsically, I needed it to support 1024x768 and it did not look pretty. However, the Feb 06 version looked great. This leads me to believe that not all LCD support anti-aliasing. So hopefully you get the newest model.
