Strengths: Dispalys great colors. Light and seems like solid construction

Weaknesses: No DVI input

Summary: For the money this is a great monitor. I would of paid a bit more for the DVI but at the time of the purchase nothing was available with DVI around this price and size.

Strengths: cheap

Weaknesses: can't physically flip the screen like some other models

Summary: I bought this monitor for work, since my employer uses 10 year old monitors that are very hard on the eyes. The price was right, and it works just great for the web application programming work I do that requires me to be behind the screen for 8-12 a day. I would easily buy this item again.

Negative Review

Strengths: None. No better no worse than the competion

Weaknesses: Cheat the consumer to think that they will get their rebate. Good luck.

Summary: $40 mail in rebate was never received. It appears that a copy of the original UPC and UPS was not good enough. Claim to have sent me a letter to that effect. ( They didn't ) 5 months later I am told to send in the originals ( Still have them because of issues like this ) but they would not guaranty my rebate. Buyers beware! Be prepared to pay the full amount. You have no action against them simply not mailing back your supposed rebate!

Strengths: thin,high resolution,5ms,

Weaknesses: none so far

Summary: As we all know, viewsonice is one of the best maker of LCD monitor. This one is cheaper and the package is lighter than other expensive ones. Very satisfied so far. Very good LCD for movie.

Strengths: 1440x900 pixels, super fast 5ms response, good 700:1 contrast. stable base, good color.

Weaknesses: No DVI. I experienced shimmering at 60Hz refresh rate. Gone at 75Hz. No volume control for speakers.

Summary: This is a great monitor at a great price. Optiquest is a good brand since its parent company is Viewsonic, and overall, I'm very happy with the screen's quality. Default gamma settings seem to be around 1.4-1.5, which is quite good since it gives good definition for both highlights and shadows without being too bright or dark. It's great to see that you don't have to fiddle around with the settings much to get great image quality and color accuracy. (All I did was adjust the contrast from 80 to 65) At first, I thought that 1440x900 with only an analog connection would not be enough, but it turns out that a 1280x1024 monitor needs more bandwidth, so an analog connection is more than enough for a monitor of this size. It's a pity there isn't a DVI connector as well, since with dual inputs, you could conceivably run two computers on the same monitor or maybe enjoy better image quality. Overall, I'm pretty impressed at the quality and the price. I did not have a single dead pixel on my monitor.

Strengths: Clear resolution. Small footprint.

Weaknesses: Sound quality.

Summary: This is an excellent monitor. The resolution is clear and crisp and the colors are vivid. Love the wide screen and the small desktop footprint. The only downside that I've encountered so far is the sound quality of the speakers .. very tinny and even at high volume, it's not very loud. I don't us it for listening to music, etc. so no big deal. I would recommend this monitor to anyone!

Negative Review

Reviewed by: jdill7 on 24-Jan-07

Strengths: Price plus rebate. I paid $189 and with rebate it will be just under $150.

Weaknesses: Text resolution at small point sizes, especially grey text. The text seems to "jump" side to side, or have light shadows around the edges, or you can see the jaggies when they aren't there on a CRT.

Summary: This might be a good monitor for a casual user who has good eyesight, but for a graphics situation, it's not great. The price makes it a good value for everyday use, but if you need reading glasses in everyday life, don't get this monitor. Also, Macintosh support on the CD is terrible. Who uses OS9 applications anymore. Classic started up, then crashed when trying to load the OS9 on the ViewSonic disk. Get real Viewsonic.

Strengths: Sharp, crisp, pefect size

Weaknesses: Only drawback is that I didn't review the specs closely and was expecting an additional DVI input. My fault for not reading the specs....

Summary: The picture is tops - very bright and very crisp. The monitor is nice and wide. I love this thing. You can beat this monitor for the price.

Strengths: Widescreen; Easy to set up; Easy controls

Weaknesses: Onboard speakers weak

Summary: Keep in mind that this is my first LCD monitor. I was very impressed. Extremely easy to set up. No bad pixels, which I understand can be common in these kind of monitors. I have so much room on my desk now! bye-bye bulky monitors! The reason I bought this particular model was because of a price-match at officedepot.com and a $40 rebate. I ended up paying $129 + tax delivered. Overall: Looks great. Time will tell if it was a good buy.

Strengths: Great picture quality, widescreen is great, viewsonic quality

Weaknesses: None so far

Summary: I just got this LCD to replace my older 17 inch LCD. At first power on, the computer detected the driver and I was blown away by the quality. I adjusted the reslution to 1440x990 and it was even better. I will update this as time goes on, but definitely worth the price.

Strengths: Superb resolution, quality construction, good price.

Weaknesses: none

Summary: This is my first widescreen monitor and it is a beauty. I would never ever own anything else. You can't beat the quality of a Viewsonic monitor. I work in at a call center for a large on line retailer and they have used Viewsonic products by the hundreds and swear by them. You can't go wrong with this company.

Strengths: Has everything I hoped for. Plus no cataract-causing harmful emissions.

Weaknesses: It will be obsolete in about ten years, but at these prices, why wait? ;-)

Summary: Seriously, my comments mirror the three who posted before me. I was a little confused by whether I was supposed to "install" the software before or after switching monitors ... I looked at the disk first, but didn't play all of it. There were Flash-application intros, and though I had Flash plug-ins running on my browsers, I wasn't sure when they queried about my having the latest update. I then shut down my Mac Mini (an old Power-PC G4), connected the replacement Q19wb, and rebooted. Everything worked perfectly. Oddly, when I tried to look at the software disk again, instead of automatically launching its Flash intros, I saw only a list of all its files. Maybe my Apple Mac Mini self-installed whatever was needed automatically with no prompting from me (typical of Apple). I didn't even have to tell it to go to the 1440 by 900 layout (which was not previously an option with my replaced dinosaur 15" Compac V710 which nearly outweighed me). I expect to replace this Q19wb monitor after my latest Apple computer runs on nanotechnology flash storage measured in PB (petabytes) and is pocket-sized, keyboard-optional voice- and telepathic-contolled with remote-genetic-sensing security. Well, my Optiquest Q19wb is off to a good start to that distant day, with its clear wide bright display!

Strengths: Very clear and bright. Sleek design.

Weaknesses: None.

Summary: I decided to buy this LCD as a replacement for a 19" Sony CRT which was just taking up too much space on the desk. The small footprint is great and dramatically increase my workspace on my small desk. Installation was easy and completed without a problem. It is great for watching widescreen movies. The picture quality is very clear and crisp. It has been a few weeks and I have no complaints. I may just buy another one to make a dual setup but this will do for now. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to purchase a 19" widescreen.

Weaknesses: None at this time.

Summary: Great monitor for a great price. Viewsonic is every bit of the quality that I expected. Not a single dead pixel. Never owned a widescreen monitor before, but due to the quality of this monitor, I may never own a regular again.
