Strengths: I sell Acers at work and they work very well.

Weaknesses: They can be a little darker than a CRT, like all LCD.

Summary: Don't be afraid to buy because of the name, but I might wait for the price to come down. I rather have a 19" for $150, than a 22" for $384.

Strengths: Good brightness, large area, low price relative to other monitors of the same size, excellent response time

Weaknesses: Some flicker on certain patterns

Summary: This monitor beats my 19 inch LCD in terms of brightness and clarity! It's an excellent choice if you are on a budget, but need the screen space for your computing. The only drawback I have seen is a slight flicker of the screen redrawing with a very tight dot patter: the area between keyframe in Flash's timeline. It can be distracting.

Strengths: Bright, large, wide

Weaknesses: cheap stand, difficult to switch between dual input

Summary: This monitor looks as good as many others that I have seen. The screen is great with no dead pixels. The stand isn't that great, but it is easy to overlook for the price. I recommend it and would buy it again. If you have two computers and are going to switch between dual inputs often then you might want to purchase a different screen. There are buttons on the front of the monitor, but none of them switch between inputs like every other monitor I have seen. Instead, you have to go into the on screen display (OSD) to switch inputs. It wasn't really an issue for me because I only have one computer.

Strengths: Large monitor, clear

Weaknesses: Flimsy stand

Summary: For about $300, a 22" 16X10 DVI monitor was too good to pass up. So far, looks good, text is crisp, now I have enough landscape for two side by side text pages. Could use a bit more contrast, but for the price, couldn't beat it.

Strengths: 5ms response time, 1680x1050, vesa mount, FREAKIN huge, 170 degree viewing angle

Weaknesses: Stand is a bit flimsy

Summary: I shudder when I think about life before my 22" flat panel. It was cheap to buy (not at all in quality!) and it's really big. I don't know what more to say. If I absolutely had to nit pick about something, it would be that the stand isn't that sturdy. It feels a bit flimsy, like when you try and lean the monitor back--you definitely feel the base lifting off of the desk or surface your monitor is resting upon. Oh yea it wouldn't wake up from sleep mode while plugged in with DVI until i installed my ATI drivers--I'm not sure if that's a known problem with LCDs or not.

Strengths: Clear and big. Plug and play

Weaknesses: No screen mode.

Summary: Just bought this big 22" monitor for $300 at Circuit City, plug and play. Big and clear, excellent quality. I can't adjust the screen mode, there is no button for it, as one finds on many monitor and TVs. Everything is big but stretched out wide, spent a few hours searching for answer but none found. Unless I can solve this problem, I will have to return it. Emailed Acer, hope to hear from them.

Strengths: 22", 5ms responce time, nice and bright

Weaknesses: stand could be more sturdy, but since my desk is by the wall no problems

Summary: for thouse who does not know acer is one of the biggest LCD manufacturers in the world - viewsonic and samsung uses their screens so just think about it $500 samsung next to this monitor at the store uses same screen made by acer. i got it at circuit city for $260 and for that price there is no monitor that come close. if you can get it for under $300 that is the best choice by far. i bought 2 of them and could not be more happy.

Strengths: Large 22" wide screen, 1680x1050 resolution, 5ms response time, 700:1 contrast ratio.

Weaknesses: Stand needs some more work, height not adjustable.

Summary: This is great 22" wide screen LCD monitor considering I paid $260 at CircuitCity. The size is just amazing when compared to other 19" monitors. 5ms response time and 700:1 contrast ratio is great. The stand cannot adjust height, definitely feels cheap and could use some work if Acer is to improve its quality. Overall, this is a good buy if you can get it below $300, no other famous brand names come close to $300.

Strengths: fast response time, wide screen

Weaknesses: no height adjustment

Summary: I have bought this monitor on Thanksgiving at CircuitCity. The monitor is great with 5ms response time and wide view angle. However the material looks cheap compared to my current NEC 19inch LCD. Also there is no height adjustment. Overall I am satisfied with it based on the price and performance.

Strengths: Simple design. Low price compared to other monitors of the same size.

Weaknesses: Stand could be sturdier and have ability to adjust height. First one I purchased had one dead pixel.

Summary: I purchased this monitor when I went to Circuit City to pick up a new desktop pc and printer. It was a great value for me because Circuit City had a $10 rebate on the monitor and a $120 combination rebate when purchased along with a pc & printer. I was disappointed to find one dead pixel but it was easily exchanged for another one which had no dead pixels. I have been pleased with both the color and clarity and I have noticed no flicker at the recommended resolution. I cannot say how good this monitor would be for gaming but for what I use it for (word processing, email, internet) it has worked great so far.

Strengths: PriceBrightnessResponse in gamesSize/Form Factor

Weaknesses: Back light Bleed Some stuck pixels (really hard to notice) not a big problemVertical viewing angle

Summary: This is a very decent monitor for the price one of the best of the 22 inch budget panels. The black light bleed on dark screens is probably the worst part of the monitor. It is mostly on the very top edge of the screen. The stuck pixel(s) is not a big problem and the vertical viewing angle is also not that bothersome. It does a very decent job at down sizing resolutions in games and is best with fixed aspect ratio in non wide screen games. It also has a very sleek simple form factor. This was bought for around two hundred and eighty dollars. I would say it is a good deal if it can be had for under 3 hundred after all expenses.

Strengths: Price, quality, making your roommate's screen look like a gameboy

Weaknesses: Not enough room on my desk for two

Summary: This is _the_ sweetest monitor out right now, especially for the price. It took me about two weeks to get used to seeing this monster on my desk. The only problem now is that every other monitor looks tiny compared to this one...

Strengths: DVI and VGA inputs, 5ms response time.

Weaknesses: There is a little bleed from the backlight (it's not terrible, but it's noticeable). Cannot remove stand from monitor when using a VESA mount.

Summary: I've had this monitor for a couple of weeks now, and I'm rather happy with it except for the two weaknesses I listed. I have it connected to my laptop and I use it as my primary monitor. Since my laptop was not made to use a display at this resolution, I had to download EnTech PowerStrip in order to get the computer to interact with the display at 1680x1050. I recently ordered the Neoya X2VGA so I can connect this monitor up with my Xbox. I'm excited about running my Xbox in high def. I'll update this review after I get the X2VGA in the mail. I'm giving this monitor 3 stars until I try some gaming out on it. I may just Dremel the stand off if I get sick of it just hanging there.

Strengths: Price, design

Weaknesses: lack of digital - analog switch button, one touch presetting button

Summary: Everything is good except that the buttons mentioned above are not present. I have to go through the menus to switch between my laptop and desktop when both are connected. First one I got had three dead pixels, so I got it replaced, this one doesn't have any dead pixels.

Strengths: Large 22" wide screen, 1680x1050 resolution, 5ms response time, 700:1 contrast ratio. Fantastic picture!!

Weaknesses: I do not see any. The stand is just as good as others that cost more! Have to have your own speaker system, but OK!

Summary: This is great 22" wide screen LCD monitor considering I paid $254 at mwave.com and had the monitor delivered in just three days. No dead pixels. The size and picture is just amazing when compared to other monitors with this quality, without the high price. Another happy camper!!
