Strengths: Picture, ease of setup, price, general lack of weaknesses.
Weaknesses: The generic looking stand and surround.
Summary: I've owned this monitor for a few months now and after dealing with other LCD's since, it occurred to me how solid/simple this one has been so I thought I'd write a review. It just does what it should. Good price, easy setup, great picture, good response time (=great on games), and easy on the eyes. Default settings are pretty good right out of the box. Yes, the surround and stand are obviously made of plastic, but on the positive side, the frame is very minimalistic so it's not that bad and the stand is just what it needs to be. Overall, a great value at this price point (I got mine through pricegrabber for about $260).

Strengths: Sharp and clear picture. No dead pixels. Great price.
Weaknesses: Base stand is big.
Summary: Excellent monitor for the great price. Especially from a brand name like ViewSonic. It's easy to set up. I've purchased 2 other LCD monitors in the past from Dell and this one is by far the best (and biggest). The picture quality and color accuracy is spot on. And it's really bright. Excellent size for viewing widescreen videos on your computer. You'll be happy with this purchase!

Strengths: No dead pixels, very bright, Looks great at native resolution of 1680x1050.
Weaknesses: Monitor frame looks extremely cheap (to be expected at this price), no DVI cable
Summary: I received the monitor today and plugged it into my PC. Installation was extremely simple. Hooking it up via DVI and setting the desktop resolution to 1680x1050 immediately gave very clear, crisp images. I was quite impressed by the blacks on this budget monitor. It is definitely much better than my old Dell 1704 FPT LCD monitor. I also checked for light bleed by turning off the lights in my room. I could perceive a small amount of screen bleed but nothing you would normally notice. Also with a 5ms pixel response time, I could see no visible ghosting artifacts while gaming. All in all, I am extremely satisfied with this budget monitor. I just wish they had tried to make it look a little more stylish. The chassis is honestly quite ugly.

Strengths: Awesome picture, nice refresh rate and plenty of realestate to work!
Weaknesses: Takes up a little too much space (large footprint)
Summary: Just popped the box open this afternoon and hadthis up and running in a matter of seconds. The picture looks great after tweaking the factory settings a little but overall things seem great. If you're a webdesigner or do any work with multiple programs open this would be a no-brainer, especially for the price!
